08/02/2026: A simply enchanting and magical evening at Le Fate Briache in Massa Marittima. My boyfriend and I went last night to celebrate my 25th birthday, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. A small, intimate restaurant that welcomes you as if you were at the home of someone who cooks with true love. Caterina is truly a fairy: cook, waitress, and owner, she manages to do everything with rare ease and passion, making every guest feel special. With her "magic wand," she transforms authentic ingredients into dishes that enchant from the first bite. We ate from starter to dessert, and it was a crescendo of flavors: delicious appetizers, freshly made pasta, carefully prepared yet authentic dishes, and desserts that ended the dinner with a smile. The dynamic and freshly prepared menu makes you want to try everything. Special mention for the exceptional on-site wine, perfect to accompany every course. The quality is top-notch, the atmosphere warm and convivial, and the prices are more than fair. One of those unforgettable dinners that makes you want to return even before you leave the house. 27/01/2026: Fabulous!!! A truly excellent experience at Tana dei Brilli in Massa Marittima. Fresh, high-quality food, with an excellent selection and creation of cheeses. The wild boar sauce with polenta was simply exquisite, rich in flavor and perfectly prepared. A place I absolutely recommend to anyone who loves authentic, carefully prepared cuisine. I will definitely be back!

25/01/2026: I called the day before to reserve a table for two. I was given the time: 2:00 PM/2:15 PM. We got there on time, maybe a few minutes early. Once inside, I was told the reservation was for 2:15 PM/2:20 PM. We waited outside until 2:30 PM. We went in to find out how much longer we had to wait. We were told they couldn't turn the customers away. In conclusion, we had to leave. It would be enough to say next time... WE'RE FULL! Instead of making people wait needlessly!

15/03/2026: If I enter a restaurant and ask if there's anything vegan on the menu, there are usually two possibilities: 1) the restaurant owner makes themselves available to accommodate the customer as much as possible (which generally happens), perhaps by saying, "We don't have much vegan on the menu, but we can adapt a few dishes, don't worry." 2) the restaurant owner (in this case, an elderly, not-at-all-friendly lady) responds to the question with a curt, "No, nothing." Well, the lady responded with that curt, "No, nothing," despite later discovering that the menu includes pickled vegetables, mushroom gnocchi, etc. For the rest of the meal, she was consistently rude and blatantly hostile to vegans, so much so that she even attacked the other (non-vegan) people at my table. The world is progressing; adapt.

04/03/2026: If there's truly a gastronomic cultural heritage worth preserving, it's that of the trattorias on provincial roads, in small villages, at crossroads, in hamlets now forgotten by the mass tourism. And very often, you'll find a much more attentive level of service here than in restaurants that pretend—or want to pretend—to be superior. Here, in particular, it was the service that struck us as above average: a very young woman—twenty years old—who was so bright, fast, courteous, and above all professional, yet this isn't her profession: she'll soon be leaving for Spain to study. Thus, she'll be learning a fourth language. Having said the service, with the dining rooms almost full on a Sunday lunch, let's move on to the menu. You have to be careful here, especially if you're not in your twenties anymore, as the portions are generous. Typical dishes, well-prepared, with an excellent selection on a menu that focuses on local produce, traditional pastas, and meat. Express cooking, so some dishes require a long wait, and our suckling pig took about ten minutes, just enough time to get lost in the croutons. The side potatoes were excellent, not only for their preparation but also for their quality. Bulk wine, as is usual, was more than reasonable. The price was reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

06/04/2026: I don't usually write negative reviews, but this time, since it's a repeat offense, I have to say a couple of things: first of all, waiting more than 45 minutes for a dish for the little girl is beyond belief, even considering that today is a holiday, but then again, it's holidays and/or holidays when you go to restaurants or agritourism. Secondly, the time between ordering and the arrival of the dishes is about 40-59 minutes, not to mention that everything arrives at once. The trio of meats arrived not well cooked, but more, the sausages were charred, and then not everything that was supposed to arrive. In fact, the staff said that if it had been less, they would have made a second course, but I say, if I'm entitled to so much meat per person, why do we have to ask for the 2nd round when it should have arrived on the 1st round? In the end, we gave up, paid, and I won't tell you what happened in the bill summary because they made a mess and we left. They're good but today they weren't organized at their best.

24/03/2026: The restaurant enjoys an enviable location, essentially at the foot of the magnificent cathedral, and is run by friendly and efficient staff. We had a very good pizza; the beer was excellent; and the desserts were delicious.

31/10/2025: I stayed here for work and, unfortunately, for only one night! I was immediately struck by the beauty of the place and the surrounding area. Excellent location for visiting Massa Marittima. Very friendly staff, clean, well-maintained, and very well-kept rooms. Excellent breakfast.

14/01/2026: A very positive experience, my wife and I had lunch at my friend Zaid's, spaghetti alla carbonara, penne all'arrabbiata, as only he and I know how to make, 1 slice of beef with potatoes, water, wine, coffee, 2 Margherita pizzas, takeaway, €60. I forgot, between the three essences of delicious cabbage, we'll see each other soon.
