03/07/2026: Recommended by friends, we went for dinner while on vacation at the Cieloverde Camping Village in Marina di Grosseto. We got top marks. The roast suckling pig and wild boar stew were truly delicious, congratulations! The two waiters were also excellent.

30/06/2026: My husband and I are at Due Cippi dal 1976 in Saturnia. A tall, bearded young man in a black shirt — Lorenzo, the Meat Master and co-owner— approaches our table carrying a heavy rustic wooden board. On it rests an absolutely magnificent raw Chianina steak. He places it gently in front of us with a proud smile and gestures toward the meat with an open hand. I lean in for a closer look. The steak is over 2 pounds and thick-cut, easily three fingers high. Its color is a deep, vibrant cherry red with beautiful, intricate marbling of white fat running through the muscle. A thick, creamy-white fat cap runs along one edge, promising incredible flavor once it renders over the oak fire. The meat looks incredibly fresh, dry-aged to perfection, and full of promise. Lorenzo stands there patiently, letting me inspect every detail before it heads to the historic “due cippi” fireplaces. This personal presentation makes me feel completely involved in the experience — it’s not just a steak, it’s a conversation between the kitchen and the guest. We nod with a big smile, giving our enthusiastic approval. In a few minutes, this beautiful Chianina will be transformed into one of the best steaks of my life. The anticipation is wonderful.

03/07/2026: A bitter disappointment! We have been regular guests at the Hosteria del Ceccottino restaurant for over 15 years. The service and ambiance were, as always, very satisfactory. However, this time the food was a bitter disappointment: the pappardelle and tortelli tasted extremely bland and dry. While the tagliata was of high quality, at €55 for 500g it is now definitely at the upper end of the price range. The buglione d'agnello was also palatable, but the price-performance ratio is definitely no longer acceptable. For €28, we were served – along with about six fried potato slices – only about eight mouth-sized pieces of bone, from which a few small pieces of meat could be separated with great difficulty and patience. To visually inflate the volume, a simple slice of bread was placed under the supposed meat. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the staff, but apart from a perfunctory apology, our complaint was not addressed further, not even by the owners. It's a shame; we expect a different approach to guest complaints from a restaurant of this caliber. As a result, we, as long-time loyal customers, will be looking for another fine-dining restaurant in Pitigliano in the future.

We ordered two appetizers (sfocato with confit tomatoes, anchovies, and burrata, a potato and onion millefeuille with a delicious Greek sauce accompanied by the ever-present San Daniele prosciutto), two first courses (maltagliati with wild boar ragù and beetroot gnocchi with venison ragù) accompanied by two glasses of Valpolicella red wine, highly recommended by the very knowledgeable staff (the wine cellar is amazing). The waiters are very friendly and attentive to your needs and requests, and the staff gets a thumbs up. As for the quantity, I must say that it's artisanal cuisine that combines traditional local flavors with top-quality, non-native ingredients (the portions aren't gourmet-style). The price is slightly above average, but you know, quality comes at a price. The restaurant gets a full thumbs up.

17/07/2026: A delicious trattoria, very intimate and with limited seating. The quality of the ingredients is phenomenal: the platter of cured meats, cheeses, and olives was delicious, and both the Chianina-style pici and the butter and sage tortelli were amazing. The only drawbacks were the portions, which were decidedly small (less than 100g of pici and only 3 tortelli on the plate), and the wait time. With only one waiter managing the entire dining room, service was very slow, and it took us over two hours to dine.

16/07/2026: Located on a central pedestrian street, the service was attentive and precise. We ordered gnocchetti with cod sauce (excellent), ravioli Maremmani (good but a little undercooked), birramisu (unusual but good), and baci di Elisa (good but a bit hard). Reasonable value for money.

04/05/2026: A restaurant right in the center of Castiglione della Pescaia. The center itself is charming, and the restaurant is equally charming, very well-maintained with stone walls. The staff are incredibly friendly! They were fully booked, and they were disappointed to find us a table. We left, and I believe the owner, Thomas, saw us from afar and said he'd managed to find us a spot, so we returned for dinner. They were truly super kind. Fast service, clean restaurant, and good food.

03/05/2026: Compliments to the entire place!! The waitress and wait staff were superb! Perhaps the best table service I've ever experienced in terms of kindness and helpfulness. My two-year-old was treated like a prince, with smiles and games, and the staff attentive to his every need. The food was all truly excellent! I didn't have time to take photos of my full plate because everything was so good 🤣 A very beautiful and distinctive place for its location and setting. We'll definitely be back!!
