We had the most amazing experience here today. The sweetest Italian lady took care of us, and even though she didn’t speak any English, she made it work so effortlessly — honestly it made the whole experience even more special 🥹
The food? Unreal. One of those meals you keep thinking about hours later. I’m convinced you could point at anything on the menu and it would be incredible.
Pro tip: bring a translator (Google Translate will be your best friend 😂), but don’t let the language barrier scare you — it’s 100% worth it.
I would eat here every single day if I could

02/06/2026: We headed to this restaurant after visiting the Sorano spa, and I have to say it was the highlight of the day. The food here is delicious; everything is delicious and prepared with love, and the service is excellent.

Definitely try the beef carpaccio, and afterwards I highly recommend the tagliata di manzo con arugula e parmigiano. The house red wine was a wonderful accompaniment. For dessert... puff pastry with cream; we shared one portion. The price was right... I highly recommend eating there. It's best to reserve in advance.

09/06/2026: We stopped by Agriristoro Focacceria La Dogana in the afternoon while traveling from Pitigliano to Sovana. We contacted Giovanni by phone and he invited us to stay, and we were grateful for it. He is a Maremma native, just like the location, which imbues you with Maremma. We were welcomed, well-served, and pleasantly pampered, sharing the wonderful personality of our host. From the kitchen, Giovanni's wife, Monia, offers authentic dishes and a great ability to meet our expectations. If we were to return, we would gladly return for seconds. For those who are waiting to hear about the price, let's just say it's fair... very fair for everything they offer. Excellent and highly recommended.

You need to be physically prepared for a hike through charming alleys and steep stairways... but finally, once you're seated at your table, the rewards arrive: delicious traditional dishes served in a very characteristic setting.

16/05/2026: The name speaks for itself! We were treated to a wide variety of local delicacies, from cheeses and cured meats to crostini and, most importantly, Chianina beef carpaccio! All washed down with excellent, well-priced local wines! The small but welcoming and friendly place makes you feel right at home. Hugs to the managers, Sandro and Cristina!
09/05/2026: We had an aperitivo with a tasting of three recommended white wines, all very good and plentiful. The only thing is, I wouldn't have served three glasses of white at once because they get warm, but rather one at a time. We recommend this place for a lovely outdoor aperitivo on a beautiful day like yesterday ☀️ (P.S. incredible value for money, two of us paid just €26 for six glasses and the large platter you see in the photo).

22/05/2026: I can only say good about this place. In the street of Sovano, you can sit inside our outside, family owned, the service was amazing, the waiter was very kind and attentive, the food was delicious. I am sad we can not return for a repeat anytime soon.
16/05/2026: Very friendly and competent service! The food was exceptionally good – the dessert was delicious and the steak cooked to perfection. Five stars are definitely warranted!

31/01/2026: I visited Hosteria del Borgo during a trip to Maremma and had a divine meal. I especially recommend the ribollita, the gnudi (stuffed with ricotta and spinach, no pasta), and the pici, simply delicious. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. Highly recommended if you're passing through!

17/05/2026: The hotel is in a convenient location, but the room is very modest (clean but cramped and poorly furnished) and the prices are way overpriced for the property. Regarding the restaurant, the food quality is good, but the prices are absolutely unacceptable: two dishes for €12 each included one potato stuffed with pecorino cheese and two small artichokes. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.
01/05/2026: On a motorcycle tour with two friends on Sunday, April 19th, we traveled to Sovana, seeking some tranquility away from the daily chaos of Rome. In this wonderful setting, we ate at Taverna Etrusca, a lovely restaurant in the center of the village that offers refined dishes showcasing local, seasonal produce. We chose to eat at the tables facing the entrance, right under the clock tower, in a totally relaxing atmosphere. Kudos to Chef Simone, whose exquisite cuisine contributed to our delightful moments of "good taste."

28/07/2025: Siamo stati in questo agriturismo, io e mio marito a pranzo durante un giro in Maremma. Ottima la qualità dei cibi e prezzo davvero conveniente. Da non perdere se si viene da queste parti! In giardino sono presenti sdraio e lettini per rilassarsi immersi nella natura! Punto vendita di prodotti biologici… Complimenti!🔝

11/07/2025: Buona pizza, posto molto caratteristico, servizio gentile, un'atmosfera magica nell'antico borgo di Sovana. Si sta bene all'aperto nonostante il clima caldo. Prezzi giusti.
18/05/2025: Proprio ieri sera ho ordinato due pizze da asporto alle 23.15 e i ragazzi molto gentili e altrettanto disponibili mi hanno accontentato!!!!!! Pizza ottima! Ricca, ben condita!!!!! Grandissimi tutti specialmente Eleonora che fa' i caffè! Tornerò sicuramente !!! 👍👍👍👋
