04/09/2024: Highly recommended! Very good wine selection by the proprietor, mostly Tuscan wines. We missed our wine tasting elsewhere and decided to have a few glasses of wine here. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as our server was friendly and very well informed and expertly guided us through 5 different wines. Even the proprietor is really friendly and knowledgable. The picci was perfect. We bought a bottle of chianti classico at the end of the evening. We also had the good fortune of meeting a Panzano vintner, who seemingly regularly comes by, which by itself is a great review for this enoteca. A great evening!

03/09/2024: Extraordinarily quiet and we slept great! Loved our stay at this small boutique hotel. Room was enormous with a large sitting room, gigantic bedroom, big bathroom with fantastic shower (and the footed tub is in the bedroom, which we didn't use). The cute little balcony was an added touch, but we didn't use it since it was so hot outside and was not very shaded in the afternoon. We found the staff to be incredibly helpful before and during our stay. Brunella helped with restaurant recommendations and reservations weeks before our stay. We informed the hotel we would be dropping off bags in the morning, and they were kind to have our room ready early and the AC turned on. Viviana greeted us with a map and offered great and thorough, thoughtful information about buses, taxis and how to mail postcards. Speaking of the air conditioning, it was fantastic and a MUST in the Florence heat. We were not required to turn off the AC when leaving the room for the day and the housekeeper (fantastic, everything was so clean!) did not turn it off when she entered the room. That was a lifesaver for me and I appreciated it greatly. These big rooms would be impossible to cool quickly without consistent air conditioning. We slept very well in a cool room and comfortable bed. The design touches and commitment to funky art were fun. The location was perfect - easy access to the sights, but also walkable to non-touristy places. I highly recommend SoprArno Suites or another boutique hotel in this area instead of an Airbnb when staying in Florence - the service, information and attention to detail will make your stay in Florence more successful. It's a stressful city with so many tourists! Stay with locals who can help you craft an authentic experience.

14/07/2024: I can see this place is quirky and the building is old and that’s nice, however the comfort was really not up to standard and I found the staff quite rude. For the price paid of over 300 euros per night, it did not align with expectations. I have stayed in many boutique accommodations and heritage properties which are tastefully brought to standard, however this property lacks basic amenities and is run down with bad smells of damp, sewage and bad plumbing all around. We also had many flies in our room which buzzed around the lamp at night, keeping us from resting peacefully. Our first room (the blue room with frescoed ceiling and bathtub: room 11) was one I requested at time of booking, however the smell of sewage in the room forced me to ask for a change. We were reluctantly moved next door (room 12: the only other room available), which was a better smell, however, no bath and definitely not worth the price. Viviana did say they were fully booked but we could move rooms again the next day. On the 2nd day I asked Brunella (different lady) if we could move to another room which had a bathtub as the cost of our new room was the same price (deluxe double) and I was made to feel like this was a huge inconvenience. She made out like I was being difficult and was shown many rooms and refused them, which was not true at all: I was only offered 1 room and told the place was fully booked. She then said they already gave me a room with a bathtub and when I said it had a bad smell she shrugged her shoulders. I do not believe it is acceptable to pay 300+ euros for a “deluxe” room which smells of a sewer. How rude. She offered to show me another room and move immediately, however we were running out to catch a tour. I explained that I couldn’t move at that moment as I would miss the tour and again she shrugged: it was drop what I’m doing and move, or nothing. I politely said we must go and maybe we can catch up later. When we returned from the tour nothing was said and I decided by that point to leave it. I was not going to keep pressing and made to feel as though I was being disagreeable. The hosts here are unfortunately not the accommodating kind. From this moment I had little interactions with the staff and they chose to ignore any mention of me being uncomfortable or unhappy. When we came to check out after 3 nights Viviana didn’t even ask us how our stay was, she clearly knew the answer. There was no attempt to reconcile, apologise or show warmth in any way. I simply paid my extortionate bill and left like I was picking up groceries in a supermarket. Another thing I didn’t not like is there is no one on reception or security from 16:00. The room we stayed in was right next to reception and the front door which people come and go from continually. If you are in rooms 11 or 12 you can hear everything. People coming and going late at night was unsettling and to make matters worse the bed was only 1 metre away from the door. I was woken up many times and didn’t get a good nights sleep at all throughout our stay. The walk to attractions across the river such as the Academia is 25 mins. Breakfast timings are definitely inconvenient and not compatible with the cities tourist attractions. Due to heavy queues at the cities attractions the advice is to arrive from 8am or earlier. Many tours start at 8:30 and as breakfast is from 8-10 booking early tours etc means you will miss breakfast. Breakfast timings are not flexible (I asked). I did regret choosing this accommodation due to it not being value for money at all. If the cost were half the price, I might have overlooked some discomforts, but overall just didn’t seem worth it. There are definitely far more decent places to stay elsewhere in the city at this price point. I hope my honest review can help guide some people on their choice of accommodation in Florence, a place which for most people is a long-awaited trip of a lifetime and should be treated with this in mind. Next time I will certainly stay elsewhere.

12/08/2024: Food was nice and we enjoyed it. We tried Gnudi here for the first time and they were really tasty. However the service was a bit slow and the team seemed quite uninterested in the guests. Part of it, might have been that it was a slow evening because of the August heat - but we didn't feel as welcome as we did in other restaurants in Florence.

21/08/2024: Place visited for a dinner while passing through from South to North thanks to its proximity to the motorway. Informal and welcoming environment. Good food with normal prices. Service in line with the venue, also considering the peripheral geographical position with respect to Florence. Overall good, perhaps I would see a little more liveliness in the staff, let's say less sad.

10/08/2024: We stopped on the way out of the motorway in a place located on a sunny road. There was no one in the deserted country. They made us sit Nice rustic place Few courses but good And abundant too.

29/08/2024: We ate very well there as a family. Four different dishes and all tasted excellent! Pasta or meat is highly recommended. Service was very attentive. Price-performance was absolutely fine. Parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. Clear recommendation!

08/08/2024: Such a good surprise when arriving in Scarperia ! We had lunch. A simple but so great one. The ravioli con la riccota are just great, as well as the white meat with fresh spinach. Everything served with smiles and simple kindness. A huge thanks for this lovely stop.

04/08/2024: Historic Tuscan restaurant where you can taste typical traditional dishes, rediscovering their original flavours, an explosion of taste! Fiorentina with a capital F, impeccable cooking on the coals and excellent quality meat. Starters and first courses are no exception, in fact they are a delight. You feel welcomed and pampered, it's like being "at home" and you feel the passion in describing and love in cooking each dish.

19/08/2024: Bakery with only gluten-free delicacies. From fresh crossaints to bread and pizza and other products, everything is there. The staff is nice and accommodating. There is also seating and parking outside. It's a little outside of Florence, but it's worth a trip there. Gluten-free products are also relatively cheap - e.g. filled crossaint for €2.20. Only recommended for celiac disease/gluten intolerance!

08/08/2024: This restaurant is highly recommended! It is a very nice location, the food is delicious and for a good price. The staff is very friendly! After dinner we had a nice chat with a man, he enthusiastically explained that it was a family business and we also received limoncello on the house. The chardonnay here is also highly recommended! We immediately took two bottles with us to take home. (The bottle of chardonnay is cheaper in the restaurant than if you buy it in the Netherlands)
