12/06/2025: I am incredibly late posting this review (I’m so sorry Marta!). Dinner at Martarè was hands down the best meal we ate during our time in Florence. If you are looking for a non-touristy, truly warm and friendly place to have a homemade Italian meal, go here. The homemade gnocchi was easily the best I’ve ever had, and my husband said the same about his pappardelle. He had ordered a similar dish at another place the night before and it could not even compare. On top of the food being amazing, Marta was such a sweet and kind host. She recommended a lovely wine for our meal, and graciously and patiently connected with us through our bits of broken Italian and the help of google translate. Our night at Martarè was the best night of our trip. Make sure to add it to your list while in Florence.

10/05/2025: A unique gastronomic experience! A few streets from Piazza del Duomo, this somewhat hidden restaurant is definitely worth the detour. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the service is fast and extremely efficient. The dishes are both simple and refined, and absolutely delicious. A great place for authentic and flavorful cuisine in a discreet but welcoming setting.

25/04/2025: Good place to spend the evening, quiet environment and good food. There were 3 of us and we each had different dishes (pizza, meat main course and fish first course), and we were all satisfied, the house tiramisu was also good.

06/07/2025: I came back to eat here after thirty years and I have to say that it is always the same, you always eat well, excellent value for money, I didn't take photos, I didn't take videos, but it's always good

01/06/2025: Il Pallaio, an excellent pizzeria, we have been customers for more than five years, lately the service has gotten worse because of the new waiting staff, who once they take your order abandon you completely, it has already happened on three different evenings, the first on Saturday night, (it is understandable) the others during the week, where several tables for two people ate before us (Table for 4 People). Among the passable mistakes that do not ruin the evening there is: Bringing chips together with the pizzas, an illogical choice, both from the kitchen and from the dining room; Not bringing water, or other forgetfulness. The problems that will make me choose other pizzerias in the long run when I'm with my child are the following: I booked in advance by calling (the day before) and letting them know that I have a child, and upon arrival they hadn't prepared a table for me, let alone a high chair (which if you have lots of tables and high chairs you can also not prepare them in advance) otherwise if you have 30 reservations and you live in the evening you tell me that you don't have room or that you can't guarantee me the high chair, that to spend a quiet evening I would have brought one from home or I would have taken the stroller to have dinner without the discomfort of a child who can't sit at the table. Another point that makes me turn up my nose, the boy who doesn't seem to be a waiter, every time he clears the table, rightly asks if I want a dessert or coffee, but he completely disappears when he has to bring me the list of desserts and every time he meets my gaze, he pretends or seems not to remember at all that he was supposed to bring us the list of desserts, another waitress promptly has to come by to solve his problem. (Success for all three nights…) It is still an excellent pizzeria, with excellent pizzas and exquisite food, but I have had three experiences where perhaps it would have been better to take it away to pass in a more comfortable way. In addition, personal advice but surely you have already thought about it, to possibly increase by 1 choice, the list of beers, because once the Weiss is finished you are forced to take the Moretti on tap, I also understand the competition from the Pub next door.

30/06/2025: At the end of the day, this meal was exactly what we needed. Simple yet so satisfying. The ingredients were an amazing quality, and there was nothing left behind when we were finished. I highly suggest getting a few dishes and sharing them between everyone like we did, especially since everything was pretty affordable. Dish 1 - Beef Stir Fried Rice Noodle, Dish 2 - Fried Rice with Seafood, Dish 3 - Sweet and Sour Chicken. We paired dinner with bottled water and a sour plum drink, which was very good as well. If you are just visiting Florence, or haven’t been here yet, don’t hesitate to stop here for some comfort and a tasty meal!

29/06/2025: Located near Piazza San Marco, very convenient to take the light rail Kung Pao Chicken: It should be Sichuan style, slightly spicy, tastes good, but the side dishes are not very tasty, the peanuts have a bad taste, the cucumbers may be local cucumbers are not very tasty, and the carrots are relatively raw Braised Beef: It is a relatively large piece of beef, based on the domestic braised beef with black pepper Disadvantages: The store is not very cool, I don’t know if the air conditioner is turned on. Anyway, the appetite is much smaller when it is hot

17/06/2025: Lovely, local place. Just outside of the touristy area. Go for lunch but share a pasta. The portions are generous. House wine very affordable. Lots of locals as well, which is a healthy sign. Go for your 6 euro special bread at Rainer's afterwards, which is next door.

11/06/2025: The service was nice, but €18 for mediocre to bad pasta is pretty awful. I had the tagliatelle, some of which were undercooked, and the sauce seemed to have been completely salted or seasoned in no way. Quality products aside, it didn't taste like much... €18 is a real pain. Even after I asked for salt and pepper, no one bothered to ask if everything was okay with the food. It's not really standard practice to have to add seasoning to food in a restaurant. Oh well, a disappointing experience.

14/06/2025: Meraviglia sorprendente! Location suggestiva, servizio ottimo, staff gentilissimo ed attento. Ci hanno aspettati nonostante il ritardo comunicato, e nell'indecisione o caos dell'arrivo in ritardo (scusateci!) ci hanno anche offerto un' alternativa al tavolo che ci avevano riservato. Tavoli tutti vista colline senesi, di giorno riparati da tettoie rinfrescanti, di sera suggestive lucine a far da cornice. Il menù è speciale: prodotti locali, ricercatezza nella qualità e nell'esecuzione, oltre che l'impiattamento. La scelta è genuina, abbina molto bene tipicità locali e rielaborazioni (mai troppo estreme) moderne. Conto giustissimo. Bravi tutti! Torneremo presto e consiglieremo sempre!

23/05/2025: Fabuleux !!!! Cuisine au top faite maison avec un super rapport qualité prix. Personnel très gentil et enfants bien accueillis. On recommande très très fortement !

24/06/2025: An enchanting location in the Valdarno hills promises well, but the experience immediately turns out to be surreal. The welcome is entrusted to unlikely improvised "restaurateurs", among insects everywhere and prosecco served hot passed off as an excellent product. The management is chaotic, with disoriented staff who do not know how to deal with technical problems. The service is slow and confusing, and the dishes served are an unlikely mix of ingredients, with questionable flavors and absurd combinations. The rotisserie, theoretically the main course, turns out to be a gastronomic trap. Some diners are forced to taste indigestible dishes. The evening ends with desserts mysteriously disappeared and a bill with unexpected supplements. Between irony and resignation, the experience turned out to be a real culinary disaster.

24/06/2025: I ended up here somewhat by accident. The place was recommended by an olive oil seller at the market in Lucolena in Chianti. Well - a total blast. The atmosphere is rustic and rustic. The service is charming, a bit grandma-like. The tasting dishes (sets) are enormous - one for 2 people would be enough. Set per person with drinks and wine €40 (vegetarian €30 - not standard but they will prepare it). It is worth going there and sitting, tasting, talking about nothing under the setting Tuscan sun.

22/06/2025: Cute restaurant located right on the grounds of a swimming pool. The pasta was delicious, but the risotto wasn't our cup of tea.

08/06/2025: An absolute hidden Gem. A real local, Italian, family like restaurant with the atmosphere and Italian love everyone loves. Food is also delicious and fairly priced. A Pasta allo scoglio for 12€ is a rare price this days. Worth booking your tables on weekends or you may end up waiting outside. I would recommend this place over any other around, no matters the reviews.

29/05/2025: I ate the best Italian pizza here, straight from the oven. Everything was delicious, the service was good, and the wine was delicious. Unfortunately, the terrace was still closed, so we sat in the restaurant, fully immersed in the Italian atmosphere.

09/06/2025: Don't be one of those tourist chumps lined up at Gustapizza around the corner, this is where the locals go, and it's far better. Soft, tender crust, and literally 5 (not 3, like another review said) pages of pizza (and calzone!) choices. Great pizza, friendly staff, super fast service. A little hot when we went, but the sign says they do have AC, so it must have not been on yet.
