10/05/2025: We went to the Butticè wine shop a couple of times and were not disappointed. The caponata is very good, tasty, well seasoned, the crunchy octopus, the delicate rolls, all the portions quite generous. Wide choice of wines and cocktails. Efficient and helpful service, well organised. Tables both inside and outside. Adequate value for money. On weekends it's best to book to be sure of finding a place.

17/05/2025: While waiting for the afternoon opening of my travel and life companion's art group show, we stopped at this place near the Statue of Liberty, which is much more than just a bakery: it also includes a bar and a restaurant. We were in a hurry, but we couldn't resist tasting some excellent anelletti al forno and an irresistible sfincione palermitano. We finished with an excellent coffee, in a pleasant and original location. If you have more time, it's really worth stopping calmly and enjoying everything.

17/05/2025: Pizza is a food that I eat only once a week, but since I came to Italy, I ate countless pizzas for two weeks until I got sick of them. I started with the somewhat unfamiliar name of spicione. Spicione refers to sponge pizza, and it is an Italian name for the dough that is fluffy and thick like a sponge. It is not round but square-shaped, and it is characterized by its appearance similar to pizza bread. I arrived at a bakery slightly outside of downtown Palermo to eat spicione. I originally thought it was a pizza place, but it was a bakery that sold pizza, and it was busy with locals buying bread until late at night. You can choose other breads from the display case, and for pizza, there is a menu attached, so you can refer to it and order. When you order, they cut the pizza baked in a huge mold and heat it up once. The price for the two signature pizzas, spicione and Siciliana, and two bottles of beer was less than 10 euros. I was surprised at the cost-effectiveness and was impressed by the friendly staff. As I mentioned earlier, the pizza is square and cut into 8 pieces so that you can eat it one by one. The edges are baked crispy, similar to Detroit pizza, and the dough is focaccia, which is probably not Italian. As the name suggests, Siciliana contains ingredients from Sicily. Instead of tomato paste, it is topped with a lot of herbs, finely chopped cherry tomatoes, caccicavallo cheese, anchovies, and onions. Since the dough is thick, the taste of the ingredients should be absorbed into the dough, but the texture of the dough was moist as if it was soaked in water, so it wasn't like that at all. The savory taste of the cheese, anchovies, and onions were also well-infused into the dough. The spiciness of the spiciness was much heavier than that of the Siciliana because it was based on tomato paste. The ingredients felt like they had completely soaked into the dough, and the saltier taste went well with beer.​ Personally, I don't think that Spinchione surpasses Neapolitan pizza because my taste for pizza is so strong. However, it was definitely delicious, and considering the price, I want to eat it more often than Neapolitan pizza.

03/05/2025: Vlakbij het grote theater in een koel zijstraatje zit dit kleine restaurant. We kwamen er bij toeval langs en het menu op het bord zag er aantrekkelijk uit, dus we kregen een tafeltje buiten. Het straatje is vroeg in de avond koel en gezellig, er lopen mensen langs maar geen grote groepen, precies leuk. Wij kozen vooraf een caponata om te delen, en daarna allebei een pasta. De vegetariër was blij met de duidelijke vermeldingen op de menukaart. De caponata was bijzonder gemaakt. We hebben hem enkele keren eerder gehad, maar dit was echt de beste. Lekker veel amandelen erin, verse kruiden, een beetje lauwwarm. Vers, warm brood erbij. De pasta’s waren allebei ook heel erg goed gemaakt. Zowel de smaak als de textuur: uitstekend. Heel lekker. Geen dikke sauzen, bergen tomaten of plenzen olijfolie, alles subtiel, vers, mooie gekruid en zeer smaakrijk. Duidelijk vers bereid door een goede kok of kokkin. Als wijn namen we de Nero d’avola, een rijke donkere Siciliaanse wijn. Aan tafel werd de fles ontkurkt en er werd een groot glas ingeschonken. Fles koel water erbij, perfect. We hadden geen ruimte voor een dessert, maar de espresso was ook weer prima. Vijf sterren voor Da Bacco voor een bijzonder goede maaltijd op een leuke plek!

16/05/2025: Locale storico di Bagheria. Personale alla mano ed estremamente, servizio celerissimo, prezzi onesti, piatti di grande qualità . Siamo stati accolti con un uovo sodo e un bicchierino di zibibbo. Anche i dolci spettacolari. Sicuramente tornerò quando sarò di nuovo nei paraggi!

02/05/2025: The best cannoli I had in Cefalu, or in all of Sicily... An older man is watching, and from here on, the level of confidence increases... That size costs 2.7 euros, and right next to the cannoli they also sell something like cheese bread, but it's a shame I couldn't eat that. It's close to the bus stop, so be sure to visit at break time. Absolutely recommended! No regrets!

15/05/2025: Superb location in front of the cathedral, good desserts, the infamous Iris especially baked very good, the fried one depends.. good but if you are used to similar desserts (eg graffa) it is nothing that will leave you amazed, perhaps the various videos on YouTube and similar increase expectations too much. Polite but approximate service because always packed, if you order more things (eg various desserts and coffee) they serve everything together (quite quickly) when the coffee perhaps should be served later otherwise it gets cold, small attentions that unfortunately they cannot afford given the continuous crowd. Quite high prices.

20/05/2025: Last night my boyfriend and I went to this restaurant. What can I say, we were enchanted by the beauty of the place and amazed by the goodness and quality of the food. Everything was excellent, I would only increase the portions of the fish appetizers. Fast service and super friendly staff.

07/05/2025: We went there and from the start, at the opening hour, the waiter told us that we have to wait 20 minutes for him to serve us because they had only one big table with a guide. What kind of restaurant are you if you cannot handle your costumers and you have not even half of restaurant full? Anyway we said okay and when the food arrived the order was wrong, waiter brought me something else. He proposed to me to leave it like this and it will be cheaper. Okay. After I've started to eat the fish was cooked uneven and a piece of it was even raw, he took it gave to the cook who just threw it in a pan, mixed it and the brought it to me overcooked. Unacceptable behaviour from the type of restaurant they want to be. Horrible service, not so special food, expensive prices.

07/05/2025: We went to Sardina Pasta Bar last summer and had a wonderful meal. A Pasta with red prawn tartare which was excellent in terms of balance of flavors and remarkable from the point of view of quantity. We left satisfied in body and spirit

13/05/2025: For a good ice cream at a fair price I recommend this ice cream shop near the sea, special flavors and very very good! Be wary of the tourist-catching ice cream shops in the center, where you leave a kidney to pay for an ice cream, and go here! 👏🤩
