13/03/2026: If you're looking for the usual "copy-and-paste" sushi, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for true quality, Aiko is a must. I can say with absolute certainty that I've eaten some of the best à la carte sushi in the entire city here. Forget all-you-can-eat options: at Aiko, every piece is a small masterpiece. You immediately sense that all the ingredients are of the highest quality, incredibly fresh, and expertly crafted, elevating dinner to a truly exquisite gastronomic experience. The careful pairings and presentation of the dishes confirm that this isn't just a simple dinner, but a sensory journey. The restaurant is extremely welcoming and intimate, perfect for a special evening or a quiet dinner away from the hustle and bustle. Kudos to the staff: they were friendly and very helpful, guiding us through our selection of dishes with great professionalism. The wine selection also deserves a special mention: they have a very well-curated list that allows you to pair your raw fish with premium labels, completing the experience impeccably. In short: A must-visit for Japanese cuisine lovers in Palermo. I'll definitely be back!
23/01/2026: That Wednesday, I woke up unaware that a sublime sushi dinner awaited me that evening...
But let's start with the story.
My girlfriend and I went to Aiko for the first time, and we were immediately greeted with kindness and courtesy by the waiter who seated us. What immediately struck us was the atmosphere: the setting resembled that of a Japanese Zen temple, soothing music, and a clean environment. The young man serving the tables was noteworthy, with his attentive and professional manners. Let's move on to the star of the evening: superb sushi, aromas and flavors carefully crafted by the chef, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail, for a truly remarkable multisensory experience. The quality of the ingredients was outstanding, as was the preparation process described by the owner, Gabriele, whom we had the opportunity to meet and who helped complete our experience, also explaining the true essence of the dishes. In conclusion, we can consider ourselves completely satisfied and happy to have immersed ourselves in this oriental journey. Highly recommended.

12/04/2026: For me the best all you can eat in Palermo!
11/04/2026: We were served by Gerico, a very nice guy who speaks fluent Italian, English, and, I assume, Spanish. We arrived around 2:40 PM and were able to order à la carte (but there's also an all-you-can-eat option). We chose Chinese dishes, not sushi. Everything was delicious. We also ordered four portions of rice to go, and Gerico prepared everything for us, adding a little oil and cutlery. It's a pleasure to see smiling people serving. I absolutely recommend it, especially for the kindness and service.

30/04/2026: I went to this place for lunch for the first time, the place is very nice and even if it's a little small it's well laid out, the staff are very kind, we really liked everything there, the tartare was really very good, we will definitely go back

12/04/2026: After trying so many sushi restaurants in the city, my boyfriend and I decided to try one of the most popular in Palermo. Upon arrival, I noticed a very beautiful and welcoming location, but unfortunately, as soon as we sat down, we were faced with a surprise: 80% of the pieces we ordered, despite being different, had the same flavor and consistency (i.e., rubbery). I strongly advise against the raw shrimp nigiri because, today, it was sour in taste and smell... Maybe we chose the wrong day, or maybe we have a different palate than others who rate it as "one of the best in Palermo."

11/02/2026: I would have given it 5/5 if it weren't for the constant menu changes, which unfortunately make the experience inconsistent over time.
I've always been loyal to a specific 64-piece sushi combo with a bottle of wine (Charme Bianco). Initially, the bottle was replaced with a lower-quality one, then—perhaps due to poor reception—the offer was reinstated. Subsequently, a €2 cover charge was added, and finally, the combo was permanently removed from the menu.
It's truly a shame, because the quality of the sushi is excellent and the staff is always impeccable, helpful, and kind.
I hope that in the future, a better balance will be found on the menu and that the offer will be available again.

17/04/2026: This is turning into an almost literary-philosophical treatise on a gastronomic drama. I feel sorry for the service staff: young, untrained, left to their own devices in their ignorance—not unfriendly or malicious, but fatally uninformed about even the most basic rules of their industry. The Google rating system seems like a ridiculous farce. When I think of all the outstanding restaurants that truly deserve five stars—it's a slap in the face. It's become a meaningless world where everything is fake.
Everything about this place was disappointing. The interior has all the charm of an IKEA store. Huge, practically empty. At reception stood a guy with the charisma of a dying houseplant, staring nonstop at his phone. I ordered a beer and went to the restroom. The whole place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in two weeks. Next to it was raw fish in the display case. I'll spare you the rest of that corner—it's unworthy of a Japanese restaurant.
When I returned: a closed beer bottle on the table. Five employees, the same number as guests. No one was reachable. Three were gossiping in the back, one was staring at his phone, and a manager was busy with paperwork. Eventually, I shouted for help—he came over in a terrible mood, opened the bottle, and disappeared.
The sashimi arrived after about 1.5 minutes. No wasabi, no ginger—just the most generic soy sauce in the world. I had to order wasabi separately. A minute later: four varieties of elaborate maki rolls. Made in fast-forward mode? Ready since yesterday? They were suspiciously stuck together and didn't taste fresh—I'd venture to say they weren't freshly rolled. Last came the miso soup. The easiest thing comes last. Strange.
Three servers then stood exactly one meter away from my table and gossiped loudly. Every plate from which I took the last piece was snatched away before I could even chew. One of the three was sneezing nonstop into the air – the others carried sushi through his cloud of germs to a table with children. It's great that we've put Covid behind us – but service staff sneezing their way through a restaurant, holding their noses with their bare hands? In a restaurant? The others were also constantly touching their faces. A hygienic nightmare.
It's enough to make you depressed. This culturally rich Palermo – and this grotesquely cultureless place.
15/03/2026: Unqualified staff, dressed as if they were ordinary people, would walk by and throw your plate on the table.
Filth everywhere, dirty chairs, an unsightly table.
The food was 50/50.
Too much confusion, extremely rude people.
We paid €36.80 each, too much for all this.

All this at the Naka Restaurant, drinks & sushi with Mediterranean cuisine, right at the foot of Her Majesty the Cathedral.
You can dine both inside and outside: we opted for the outside.
The place is truly refined, very elegant. The table setting is very minimal, but with very refined touches, from the lamp to the metal chopsticks. Not to mention the real gem that really makes a difference these days...the champagne served in its 1920s-style glass. Truly remarkable!!
(Enough with champagne served in a Prosecco flute... here at Naka, class is not water 😉.)
Let's get to the food: the menu is well-described, divided into two lists for sushi and Mediterranean dishes.
We opted for sushi; I don't remember the names of the dishes, but with sea urchins, Mazzara red shrimp, truffle, tuna, salmon...seaweed, and the excellent rice, it was a true taste experience, and each piece was an explosion of distinct flavors that blended divinely.
In short, Naka confirms itself as a top place to return to again and again with great pleasure and the certainty of not being disappointed. The wait staff is attentive, discreet, and present, but never intrusive.
Marco Larosa is an excellent host, always smiling and kind, ready to satisfy every desire.
The price is absolutely in line with what Naka offers.

31/05/2024: I found things in the restaurant that I had never seen in other restaurants, novelties compared to classic sushi, and I am a serial eater of typical Chinese cuisine. If you want to understand the real Chinese culture and immerse yourself in their traditions, such as karaoke, then you must come here at least once. Dishes never tasted before, tasty, delicate, unexpectedly unique.
