Il Castello In Petralia sottana

We had lunch at the restaurant and it was a great experience. We were very lucky because we found room for two even though we hadn't booked! They seated us at a table next to the cellar, where the location and temperature were perfect! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The menu was varied and featured typical local products. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

A very characteristic location. The appetizers were good and well-prepared, a promising start. Unfortunately, the first courses weren't up to par: flavors were too strong and overpowering, lacking balance. We tried three different ones, and none of them convinced us. Another area that could be improved was the service, which was too rushed: the first courses arrived immediately after the appetizers, making the meal less enjoyable and relaxing.

I stayed at this property for two days with my wife, also enjoying the attached restaurant-pizzeria. We had a wonderful time. The property is beautiful, with attention to detail, the staff is welcoming, and the food is excellent. Petralia Sottana is a gem and has a prime location for visiting the other towns in the Madonie Mountains. If we return to this area, Il Castello will be our go-to destination again.

We had dinner here, not stayed overnight. The pizzas were delicious, made with top-quality ingredients. I found the pan pizza truly unforgettable. I also tried the other dishes, and they were delicious. The staff was attentive and courteous. Reservations are required.

Excellent food and perfect welcome

We've had lunch and dinner here every time we've been to Petralia Sottana. Everything is delicious and top-quality. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is cute and welcoming. Mrs. Assunta, who knows us by now and always greets us with a big smile and cheerfulness, is also very welcoming. We've never been disappointed by her recommendations. Try the padellino. I recommend it.

Dear Sir, I was also present that evening, and I'm taking the liberty of intervening because I witnessed the scene you describe firsthand. It's true that in the living room, some families were still spending time together after dinner, in a peaceful and convivial atmosphere, as often happens on a weekend, especially on Valentine's Day. The children were laughing and playing, perhaps a little lively, but without any intention of causing a disturbance or showing disrespect. What struck many in attendance was the manner in which the gentleman spoke, clearly agitated, raising his voice and using inappropriate language in front of families and children. His reaction seemed disproportionate to the situation, causing discomfort and fear, especially among the youngest guests. The act of throwing objects from the living room also created further tension and concern among the guests. I understand that everyone may have different noise tolerance levels, but in a facility that welcomes families, especially on a holiday evening, it's normal for the atmosphere to be more lively until a certain hour. I believe it's always possible to find solutions through dialogue and mutual respect, without resorting to reactions that risk compromising everyone's peace of mind. With this post, I simply wish to report what I saw with my own eyes, respecting the truth and the other guests present.

I remember that evening well, and it's important to put our stay into context: it was a Saturday night, Valentine's Day, and right in the middle of Carnival. Regarding the "unbearable noise," the situation we and other families witnessed was quite different. We witnessed a truly horrifying and reprehensible scene: a man yelling at little girls who were simply playing in the hotel living room until they burst into tears. I believe that respect for minors and human sensitivity should come before any demand for absolute silence. As for me, I spent a wonderful weekend with my family, full of fun and carefree moments. We truly enjoyed our stay at the castle, where the kindness of the hostess, Flavia, and the excellent assistance of her staff, truly made the difference. By the way, I'd like to point out that the breakfast was superb, with baked goods made in-house. Top pizza as far as the restaurant is concerned, some dishes could be reviewed

I recommend it to everyone, I had a good time

We had dinner at this delightful, welcoming restaurant typical of the Madonie region. We were delighted with their cuisine. The pizza was one of the best we've ever had in Sicily, both in terms of dough and ingredients. The rest of the food was also excellent, with one tiny complaint...we'd asked for a larger first course, but we were served a limited portion, yet it was still delicious! We'll be back, especially for the beauty of the village!
