16/07/2026: It is undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Palermo, crossing the main streets of the local nightlife, Via Maqueda and Via Vittorio Emanuele. The square, known as Vellena, is one of the finest examples of Sicilian Baroque. It has an octagonal shape and is bordered by four buildings, each housing a fountain topped by precious statues placed within a niche. The lesser-known feature of this splendid place, where street artists perform at all hours, is that at any time of day, at least one of the buildings is always exposed to the sun thanks to their unique location, which bisects the cardinal points. Don't miss visiting the splendid church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini, the imposing Duomo, and Piazza Pretoria, home to the municipal offices, embellished by the beautiful Fountain of Shame or the Fountain of the Nudes. Just a stone's throw away is another rare gem, the church of Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglia, with its precious Byzantine mosaics.

08/07/2026: We went as a couple for lunch on Sunday, July 5th. We were disappointed with one of the two appetizers, the swordfish caponata, because we found only five diced fish (not exactly five, but five) and then only eggplant. The seafood appetizer was solompolpo (only octopus) and three mussels. We were also disappointed with one of the two first courses, spaghetti alla tarantina, which was overcooked and not accompanied by the mussel sauce and drowned in a soup broth to the point that it seemed like a different recipe because there was no trace of olive oil or creaming. This was above the quality of the ingredients. We were also disappointed not to be able to order the risotto alla marinara (which you no longer cook because it caused you problems in the past, but what problems can a reduced menu cause) or spaghetti with clams, which are must-have dishes at a seafood trattoria. Spaghetti and clams, however, arrived for another table who ordered after us. They probably need to be reserved in advance (so it's better to specify this when ordering), or did you catch them in the meantime?

28/06/2026: We had lunch with a very good typical Sicilian appetizer, a truly exquisite and well-cooked mixed meat dish, and a delicious warm ricotta cassatella. Good service and excellent value. Definitely worth a try; reservations are recommended.

A seductive menu stimulates the tastes of Sicilian tradition, with a semi-gourmet twist. Each dish is a sensory discovery, carefully crafted and curated in an impeccable, clean, and impeccable table setting. The warm, crumbly breads are excellent, the result of meticulous research into the evolution of native flours. The wine list is comprehensive, featuring regional, national, and international wineries, with a good selection of sparkling wines, impeccably presented by sommelier/manager Gabriele Amato. 05/12/2025: We went last night, and honestly, everything was A+! The service was incredibly friendly, the food came out quickly, and the taste was… simply amazing. The pork chop was juicy as a dream, and the thin-crust pizza was simply Italian. We'll definitely be back!

02/07/2026: A simple bakery that makes VERY good cuzato bread; the ricotta bread is also good. Very friendly. They also serve drinks. You can eat at a table in the square. RECOMMENDED!!!

The cacio e pepe pizza was the best pizza I ever had, with a perfect crust and balance of cheeses. One of my friends who ordered "the red" was too stunned to speak because it was so delicious, and wouldn't even allow me a small bite because he wanted to finish every little bit

26/06/2026: A welcoming pub, not overly crowded despite its location. It has plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas, and clean restrooms, always stocked with toilet paper and soap—a rarity in Palermo. Ciccio is kind, welcoming, and friendly. The sandwiches are excellent, and the clientele is friendly and respectful.

28/06/2026: The staff were exceptional, accommodating requests for small preferences. They were super attentive and welcoming as well! The food and chef were incredible, offering up exceptionally well presented and delicious food. Nothing felt like an experience just for the sake of it. Small surprises folded into the set menu meant we were satisfied by the time our dessert was served. An especially delightful surprise was presented to us following dessert. Deserving of their star in every way!
