04/07/2025: Sono stata ieri sera per la prima volta, bello il locale e l’atmosfera. Eravamo in tre abbiamo preso, dopo il loro benvenuto un grissino fatto da loro, delle chips davvero buonissime. Tre pizze: due lievito e una norcia, 2 birre medie e una piccola. Un solo gelato fatto da loro al caramello salato, per un totale di 79€. Forse un tantino esagerato il conto, peró la pizza davvero buona e l’impasto e gli ingredienti meritano. La consiglio.

There was even a small bug in the “Insalata Mista.” The service is poor — both the waiter and waitress were slow and somewhat grumpy. Every time I’ve been here, the customer service has been unfriendly. The rice arrived very late, and it was chewy, old, and slightly cold. Overall, I do not recommend this place.

13/05/2025: We will NEVER go back! We booked for two at 7:45 on Tuesday night and left the half-empty restaurant at 10:00. We waited more than 50 minutes for the first appetizer, no one ever cleared anything of what we had on the table for the entire dinner, one waiter was even busy, but the other one sat watching tik toks the whole time. When a new customer came in, or people came to pick up take-away, everyone had to wait a long time to be taken into consideration. After more than 1.30 hours sitting, I decided to ask the waiter how much longer it was for the second courses and he decided to deign to look at me and turn away. Totally embarrassing. We asked for water halfway through dinner that never arrived. The thing that really saddens me is that the food was also good, but I left so bitter and angry that I would never eat it again. Maybe it's time for those who work there to change jobs

24/06/2025: I ordered a cheesecake for 8 people for a 50th birthday with a dedication on it. When it arrived, the cake was much, much bigger than expected, certainly not for eight people. I preferred to overlook the size even though obviously the WEIGHT had a huge impact on the final price, over 40 euros! Despite this, when I picked it up, the cake did not have any congratulations written on it as expected and agreed. They told me to wait 5 minutes to allow the pastry chef to come from the laboratory with a sugar paste tag. The minutes become 10 and it was not a problem until I saw the writing prepared on the spot in a hurry. Unwatchable, red writing on a white background with childish characters and aesthetically ugly. And to think that it was for a 50th birthday! Any 7-year-old would have done better, I'm sure. It's not good, it's not there at all, I find all this really unprofessional. However, I do not question the quality of the cake in terms of taste, very good and appreciated by the guests.

But one of my taxi companions suggested we stop by the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, and there, I had a deeply spiritual experience that completely restored my peace of mind. After receiving so much grace, as we waited for our train back to Rome, someone suggested grabbing a gelato and a coffee — and so we stopped at this place, without expecting much. But as soon as we stepped inside, I felt something shift — this, I thought, is the true spirit of Assisi. The owner, working alone behind the bar, was incredibly kind. The gelato was smooth and delicious, the coffee absolutely perfect, and the owner was cheerful and quietly warm. There were many locals around, probably regulars, chatting and enjoying their coffee and gelato. Watching them gave me such a comforting, homey feeling. This bar has been open since 1860 — and it’s clear why. It reminded me how a scoop of gelato and a cup of coffee can bring comfort to a weary traveler, body and soul. I sincerely hope many other travelers will stop by and experience what we did. It’s not just a café — it’s a place that warms your heart. Highly recommended. Ma uno dei miei compagni di taxi ha proposto di fermarci alla Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli, e lì ho vissuto un momento profondamente spirituale che mi ha restituito la pace del cuore. Dopo aver ricevuto tanta grazia, mentre aspettavamo il treno per tornare a Roma, uno del gruppo ha proposto di prendere un gelato e un caffè — e così siamo entrati in questo bar, senza grandi aspettative. Ma è stato proprio lì che ho pensato: "Ecco, questo è davvero lo spirito di Assisi." Il proprietario, che lavorava da solo dietro il bancone, è stato di una gentilezza rara. 10/07/2025: Delicious ice creams with unusual flavors. We tried blackberry, peanut, fig-walnut, and Sicilian (citrus pistachio). Everything was delicious.

03/08/2025: I was lucky enough to eat there at the outdoor tables (late July). What struck me most was that they use only local products, from the Umbrian and Tuscan regions, and everything was delicious. We ordered two platters of cured meats and cheeses, both of which were served with jam. The owner, who was very welcoming and kind, recommended food and drinks, and also explained to us individually what the products he had served were. Even the beer was special, unique to the place where we were eating. Truly a top-notch experience.

13/06/2025: Arriving there for breakfast, early in the morning I was the FIRST customer to ask for a brioche... I point out that on that day a motorcycle ride was planned and there were entire cabarets of fresh brioches in the pantry on the left and behind the counter... I see a brioche with old yellowed cream from the day before, THE ONLY one and placed in front on purpose to give it away to the first unlucky person. Indeed that's how it went and unfortunately when I asked for a cappuccino and a brioche the grumpy old woman vehemently threw herself into capturing the brioche that had gone bad from the day before. Now to avoid having to argue with the old woman already with the day in reverse and given how she had embarked I tried the adventurous tasting obviously ended badly, at the first bite the brioche saw the bin. I say, if you have a business and you are about to sell about 200 croissants that morning (more or less the ones I saw on display) is it the ONE THAT YOU KNOW YOU WILL SHIT YOURSELF WITH that will send you into bankruptcy if you throw it away instead of selling it? Like a gentleman I didn't say a word and I paid, I left without saying goodbye because for me it was a clear lack of respect towards the customer. It all boils down to two words: GREED AND INCOMPETENCE.

03/08/2025: We just returned after a week...in paradise! I loved every aspect of this place, from the strategic location for any visit to Umbria to the all-pervading nature. The property is simply beautiful, and Patrizia is a special person who makes you feel at home. Dinner is a truly special experience, with dishes that are refined yet simple. We had four dogs, who were welcomed like people. Everything was wonderful...I left my heart there! ❤️

There's an authentic atmosphere, one of simplicity, beauty, and attention to detail. The food—authentic, abundant, delicious, and prepared with great passion—made the day even more special. Special thanks go to Mrs. Patrizia, who manages the property with warmth, helpfulness, and a rare sensitivity. She welcomed us with a smile and helped make our day even more enjoyable, making us feel at home. She generously shared interesting facts and details about the property and its history, enriching the experience with her passionate storytelling. Whether it's a relaxing getaway, a rural experience, or a moment to share with family or friends, Campo al Vento leaves a lasting impression. The local products, the colors of the sunset, the silence of the evening: everything contributes to creating precious memories. A place I wholeheartedly recommend, and where I will definitely return!

18/06/2025: Decent relais near Todi. The structure has a lot of potential: beautiful rooms equipped with all comforts, quiet environment and surrounded by greenery. Too bad about the services: the pool needs fixing (the rubber in several places has come unstuck); the spa area in addition to having the jacuzzi out of order (due to a fault that they told you was temporary) was not very clean; the cafeteria service during breakfast was very slow... The staff at the reception, on the other hand, were really kind and welcoming.
