30/03/2025: I booked a lunch for my parents for their 30th wedding anniversary. I have often interacted with Bianca, professional, very kind and really super helpful. She was able to best manage the payments and any hitches (by chance the reservation had been made for the days in which the weather alert was activated in Florence), the reservation was moved without additional costs and with the utmost understanding. The lunch was perfect, the environment comfortable and relaxing and refined, truly a little gem. Perfect lunch tasting menu, captivating dishes, balanced and visually unique combinations. Thanks again for your kindness and for the experience, I repeat in particular Bianca who was splendid.

30/03/2025: Saporium is one of those restaurants where the Chef seems to have forgotten a basic truth: a restaurant exists to serve guests — not the other way around. Yes, creating a special atmosphere and crafting a unique concept is great. But when that becomes more important than the guest experience, something’s gone wrong. We spent €742 on an 8-course tasting menu for two people. The first half was excellent: • Welcome bites • Bread 1. Antipasto (Snail) – absolutely amazing 2. Risotto – very nice, perfectly balanced 3. Pasta – a great addition, light and flavorful 4. Veal – rich taste, beautifully prepared Up until this point, we were extremely happy. But then things took a negative turn: 5. Manzo – disappointing. A slimy, tiny portion of beef with an almost invisible veggie 6. Pre-dessert – a single Magnum-style ice cream bite 7. Main dessert – sponge cake drowned in plain milk with a splash of alcohol 8. Post-dessert – a couple of bonbons For a Michelin-starred restaurant, dedicating nearly 40% of the menu to dessert is baffling. Post-dessert should be a kind gesture — not a counted course. This feels like a cheap solution for this money. When we asked about the missing eighth course, the deputy manager told us the bread was one of the courses, because “the Chef considers it a separate plate.” Sorry — that’s not how tasting menus work. The wine list looks impressive — but prices are outrageous. €450 for a bottle of Ornellaia? Completely out of touch. To make matters worse, the closing vibe was cold. One staff member, the guy with long curly hair, literally kicked us out... With this ending, Saporium Firenze felt more like a stage for the Chef’s ego than a place for genuine hospitality. I regret coming here. PS: The €200 deduction in the bill photo is just the prepayment required to book.

18/04/2025: An excellent discovery! It’s such a change from the “tourist trap” places. Best pizzas we had during our entire stay in Florence. Extra fresh products, tasty pizzas, a real treat. Very attentive staff. Remember to book even during the week. To recommend without hesitation

16/04/2025: Great atmosphere and service. They played French jazz in the background with candles on the table, very romantic. We got the preset meals at $55 euro per person. Antipasta and first dish were good. Pork chop was ok, dessert was ok. I would say over priced for the quality of food that was delivered. Also… there was a strange grumpy old man in an orange jacket roaming the restaurant all night that killed the vibe at times.

Avevo chiesto di fare una foresta nera e siamo rimasti letteralmente stupiti dalla bellezza e dalla bontà della torta che hanno realizzato, meglio di qualsiasi pasticceria. 04/03/2025: El lugar en sí no es espectacular - es el restaurante al lado de un campo de deportes, después de todo. Pero la comida era sorprendentemente sabrosa! Particularmente disfruté el especial del día, un filete mignon en una salsa de pimiento verde con alcachofas fritas - con sus papas al horno. La carne era de excelente calidad y muy bien preparada. La salsa estaba realmente sabrosa, las alcachofas funcionaban bien con ese combo y las patatas eran mejores que muchas patatas que he tenido en Italia hasta ahora (ok, Italia y patatas es un poco de un problema de todos modos pero eso puede ser el alemán en mí : - ) )

A group of 20 children for a 12-year-old birthday followed one another on the veranda, followed by a group of and teenagers next to an unfortunate group of seventy-year-olds. The customers, all incredibly packed, with incredible noise. Mediocre pizza. It can be improved...

03/04/2025: Frequentiamo spesso la Birroteca perché oltre alla vasta scelta di birre c'è sempre qualche gruppo che suona. Stavolta però si sono superati: beer-aperitivo per le nostre nozze! Birra, spritz e prosecco in un ambiente informale, come sentirsi a casa con amici. Proprietari sempre simpatici e disponibili. Grazie!

29/12/2024: A Empoli per seguire il Genoa, dopo la partita andiamo in centro, cercando su TripAdvisor “i migliori pub e bar a Empoli”: sono 6, il numero 1 (Brunz) è chiuso definitivamente, il 2 e il 3 aprono molto tardi, 4,5 e 6 sono imbarazzanti, percui ci avviamo nel centro di Empoli, nella pedonale Via Ridolfi, e finiamo per caso in questo piccolo pub, e veniamo sorpresi da una ottima scelta di birre artigianali toscane, tanta cortesia, ed un atmosfera gioviale ed aperta. Da visitare, ma non potete classificarlo come “Ristorante”..

06/03/2025: This one is really a surprise! When I looked at the menu, I thought it was Chinese food for white people. My friend who was traveling with me teased me by saying that I had been in Europe for too long and hadn’t eaten serious Chinese food (huh). Fortunately, I have a stubborn temper, and after being tired from driving all day, I wanted to eat some Chinese food. I ordered Maoxuewang, pork trotters, shredded potatoes, dry pot cauliflower, and hot and sour soup. Except for the hot and sour soup, which is not particularly to my taste (maybe I have gradually adapted to the European version?), I loved the rest of the dishes! Two friends who had just flown from China (the two who were reluctant to eat it at first) were full of praise for the pig's trotters. The price was also very reasonable, 15 euros for a large bowl.
