My sister and I had two flatbreads for lunch, they were well stuffed and really good, paid €6 each. The owner is a polite and sociable gentleman with whom we exchanged a few words.

The salmon was perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavor. The zuppa di verdura was rich and comforting, and the eggplant parmigiana was layered and perfectly balanced, made from a family recipe. To finish, I had the flan with caramel topping, light, silky, and absolutely delicious. The perfect end to a beautiful meal. The owners are local to Firenze, and it shows. Their hospitality and love for tradition shine through in every dish. Quietly tucked inside the hotel, Opera 23 is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Tuscan food in a warm, welcoming setting.

09/06/2025: Wow — what a wonderful surprise tucked away in a hotel lobby in Florence! We stumbled upon this hidden gem on our last night, and we’re only sorry we didn’t find it sooner. The homemade dishes were absolutely spectacular — rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with love. The husband-and-wife duo running the show were outstanding. He’s the chef, working his magic in the kitchen, while she brings warmth and charm to the front of house. The whole experience felt personal and authentic, like being welcomed into someone’s home for a special meal. If you’re in Florence, don’t miss this place — it’s a true hidden treasure.

07/05/2025: we came to this place on the advice of some friends. i must say that the place is pleasantly furnished. the staff very kind and efficient. the food is well served and excellent. in my opinion it is a great place to spend an evening with friends or as a couple.

17/06/2025: Sandwich shop where you choose your sandwich! From bread with oil, to the one with sesame seeds to the tigella. Various types of meat, vegetables or cheeses to add, the classic French fries or other sides. Or there are a couple of menus (one for €11 and the other for €13) already pre-filled with ingredients added by them. There are few seats outside, a little more inside. The staff is very kind and helpful. Recommended at least once if you pass by Empoli.

29/06/2025: The true essence of Tuscany! A dream Fiorentina: tender, tasty, cooked to perfection. But it's not just the cuisine that shines—the service was impeccable, friendly and authentic as you would expect from a true Tuscan restaurant. We arrived half an hour early and, with great kindness, they welcomed us without any problem, making us feel welcome right away. We dined on the terrace overlooking the hills during the sunset. An experience that combines quality and human warmth… we will definitely be back!.

I came back after many years and they changed management but, this was the added value of this place suitable for everyone and with many vegan and vegetarian options. Friendly and fast service. Inviting and well-cooked dishes. More than fair prices considering that they left the coffee at 1 euro. Well done girls! I can't wait to come back!
