Ristorante Il Guscio was recommended by our hotel and we’re glad we gave it a try. It turned out to be one of our favourite dining experiences in Florence. The food was excellent, the portions were just right, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere and was clearly popular, so reservations are highly recommended. If you’re looking for a memorable meal in Florence, put Ristorante Il Guscio on your list—you won’t regret it.

A fabulous little restaurant that we came to at the recommendation of our Airbnb host. We had to book in advance and pay a deposit. It was well worth it. First the ambiance and service were wonderful. The fried mozzarella was a really fun dish (think very very refined Italian version of mozzarella sticks!) We had 2 of the pastas with seafood and I didn’t want the experience to end because of how tasty and well balanced the flavors and textures were. To top it all off the baked ricotta and berries desert was one of the best deserts I’ve had. I think it was seasonal. We left wishing we had time come back here again. Highly recommend.

5 stars for its category: a neighborhood restaurant with a short menu and fresh ingredients. Well-prepared dishes. Everything is flavorful. The meats are excellent, including the Chianina, this exceptional Italian breed of beef. Reasonable prices. I'll be back.

12/08/2026: We went there on Sunday, and we're back again (Tuesday). It's excellent, very calm, and fantastic! Well done to the team! Keep up the good work! However, we went back and ordered the set menu with a super spicy dish without being warned... so that's a shame! Just order the pasta; it's excellent, but not the meat dish.
