23/02/2025: We eat well. The pizza is good and the staff is very friendly.

22/01/2025: It's not the first time I've come here and it won't be the last. We are at the pizzeria of the Casa del Popolo in Calenzano; as you can imagine, the environment (a single large room with an open kitchen and oven) is rather spartan, crowded and a little noisy. On weekends it is absolutely recommended to book if you want to be sure of finding a place. The fact that it is full is already a good indication. For dinner on Friday for three couples: 1 potato gnocchi with seafood sauce (abundant, rich in fish and very good), 5 pizzas and 1 covaccino (good and well-leavened dough, medium to thin, well seasoned and perfectly cooked) ; 2 desserts (abundant and impeccable millefeuille), 4 small beers (the highway code also applies in pizzerias) and two bottles of water. Too bad they don't have coffee. The cost? We stayed under €25 per couple.

29/09/2024: we went for dinner tonight, 15 people had a wonderful meal. Tuscan appetizer and porcini mushrooms picked by him that same morning. Niccolò the perfect manager, welcoming and super helpful. It will be difficult to replicate a place like this, spectacular dinner!!

As for the food, my cousin's daughter ate a brioche, she's small, so I can't give an opinion, but she "dusted" it so I think it was good

07/06/2025: Io sono trooooppo affezionato a questo posto. Ogni qualvolta mi trovo a Firenze è tappa fissa. Cibo autentico e buonissimo. Qualità prezzo top. Ma ciò che fa la differenza, lasciatemelo dire, è la gente che porta avanti questa splendida “bottega”. Massimiliano, gabry e tutta la squadra….Mio posto del cuore a Firenze.

05/05/2025: Allá Vecchia Bettola está fuera de la trampa turística en Florencia - vale la pena dejar el centro y salir aquí. Nos encantó todo y la oportunidad de visitar otras partes de Florencia. La comida es maravillosa - el servicio y el ambiente también. Si tuviéramos la oportunidad y nos quedamos más tiempo en la zona, sin duda habríamos vuelto para otra cena o almuerzo.

18/05/2025: I definitely do not recommend. The service man acted like it was his first day at work, even though I asked for a salad I got fries and when I reported it the man decided not to do anything about it. The food was very poor, the croque monsieur was the worst.

17/05/2025: Nice atmosphere, normal food, but the staff... All the customers around us were brought something to nibble on as soon as they arrived, except us. We asked for sparkling water but it arrived still. Even though we had our usual plate, the next table had porcelain plates while we two had metal rectangles, fast food style, too bad.

15/06/2025: We returned after two years, for a quick lunch with the all you can eat formula. Really very limited menu and average quality.

25/05/2025: Simple location, nothing special food, impatient staff, does not make you feel at ease. I will start by saying that we did not take the wine, in the end we spent €40 each. It is not worth it, value for money all you can eat in the end better a healthy meal elsewhere. Great that when booking they ask what type of table you prefer, since not everyone can sit for example without a backrest or interlocking at tables at floor level.

21/07/2024: I met this restaurant and its fabulous staff a couple of years ago, a very welcoming environment, an environment that becomes familiar over time. I would say an environment of times gone by, you become part of everyday life with them, you get to know each other and thus fabulous friendships are born. Working nearby, every now and then I treat myself to a quick greeting or lunch from Gianluca. Both he and his wife or the legendary Francesca pamper every customer, they are always cheerful, fun. 13/07/2024: Ambiente buio,sporco,vetrina con cose indefinite al suo interno,titolare che cerca di fare il simpaticone....piatti a dire poco indecenti...sono rimasti al 1970....pasta precotta e raffreddata sotto l acqua fredda dato che ha perso il suo colore e scotta la salsa messa sopra e tanta acqua sotto alla pasta stessa un roast beef indecente l unica cosa buona erano le rape rosse comprate gia cotte....l acqua ti arriva in bottiglie di vetro con il rigo del calcaree l olierà in tavola con olio che sembra di semi di infima qualità....un caffè che sembra d orzo....va bene che a pranzo il costo è di 10€ ma piuttosto un panino . Ci siamo capitati una volta ma sarà anche l ultima. Il posto avrebbe anche chance dato che è vicino ad un Grande ospedale (Careggi)ma così No.

28/01/2025: Ho avuto il piacere di cenare in questo posto con il fidanzato di mia figlia. Premetto che trattandosi di un Lunedì, l'affluenza non è stata massiccia. Abbiamo prenotato ed al nostro arrivo ci ha accolti Clio (insieme al marito titolari del ristorante). Si è da subito dimostrata molto gentile e disponibile facendoci accomodare. Mi sono da subito sentito a mio agio. L' introduzione della stessa Clio si è focalizzata sulla breve storia della provenienza del nome del ristorante e del tipo di cucina proposta.... Abbiamo ordinato 2 primi e a seguire una fiorentina da poco più di 1 kg.con contorno di patate arrosto. Il tutto accompagnato da una ottima bottiglia di Chianti. La stessa Clio si è preoccupata più volte nel chiederci come procedesse e se il tutto fosse di nostro gradimento. Tra una chiacchiera e l'altra, ci racconta dell' immensa passione per la cucina e il traguardo raggiunto diventando sommelier. Per concludere la serata abbiamo anche ordinato una meravigliosa zuppa inglese. Cosa molto importante è che tutto quello che abbiamo mangiato è rigorosamente fatto in casa. Grandi...

02/05/2025: I can't say that it's one of those places that grabs you from the outside and makes you run there, but not stopping here would have been a huge mistake! Kindness, availability (we arrived a little before opening, on a holiday day, but we were welcomed very well) and a devastating pizza! Tall, tasty, rich and crunchy at the base. Lots of variety, to die for! Very good indeed!
