15/05/2025: I have known Silvia, Johnny, Filippo and Lorenzo since they had the other restaurant and I have followed them because going out to eat is not just a matter of leisure or convenience because you don't feel like cooking or because we are passing through the area: I leave from Livorno on purpose, for example. The open kitchen was a strong point in the other restaurant too and they have kept it as a winning idea. The environment is intimate, logically very clean, and everything chosen as furniture or furnishings is not there by chance: this thing allows you to get to know Silvia in a subliminal way more than anything else. Johnny is a very ambitious man and therefore always tries to outdo himself and proposes things only when the level of the final result is at its maximum, this refers to the dish and its presentation. When he comes out of the kitchen and comes to ask you if everything went well, he doesn't do it to be celebrated but only because I am pleased to have satisfied the customer's needs. Filippo is very capable in the service and is constantly evolving both for the topic of wines and for meats: apart from the sommelier courses he often goes around to other restaurants just to understand what not to offer in his. Lorenzo in the kitchen with his dad is learning I go out I take the various cooking methods, some invented by Johnny himself. It's all delicious but I'll tell you how I reasoned the first time I arrived there: "If you put ragù on the menu of a restaurant you have to do it better than I do it." In fact I prefer that. My vote is 10 on everything.

27/04/2025: A beautiful discovery. We went as a couple for dinner and took the meat menu for 2 people (€34 x 2). From appetizer to dessert. Everything super good. Excellent quality/price, 7 courses €34 plus large bottle of water and cover charge, in total we spent €40 NOTHING compared to the quality and service offered! Very knowledgeable and kind staff! Kind and friendly owner and chef! We will definitely be back. Highly recommended (one photo is missing two pieces of tandoori chicken, I wasn't able to take the photo in time 😂)

23/04/2025: Ristorantino indiano intimo ambientazione suggestiva.. Cibo ottimo, delizioso pollo tandori e ottimi antipasti.. Buon vino, bella musica.. Siamo stati davvero bene, 60 euro (di cui 20 per il vino, Gewunstraminer) spesi davvero bene.. Lo raccomando

03/05/2025: The Nello restaurant is what we can define as a TRUE RESTAURANT. Managed by attentive and professional young people. Super cuisine with attention to raw materials and presentation. The menu is made up of 4 tasting menus (with plenty of choice) but it is also possible to order à la carte. We chose the fish menu and had a great time. It is not easy to find restaurants with this passion for cooking and with such attention to customers. Well done and........ keep it up. See you soon

30/05/2025: This cafe, and Volpaia in general, are hidden gems of Tuscany. I was here two years ago with my dad and had the most lovely morning cappuccino (with a little lemon cookie). Returned today with my family and had an equally memorable experience. Great espresso... great biscuits (orange-infused this time). Selfishly, I hope that the winding roads keep deterring the large buses and Volpaia will stay as I remember it. On the other hand, I sincerely hope that other travelers (looking to soak up the authentic, quiet beauty of this countryside) get to experience the intimacy of this cafe and village.

17/05/2025: We went last Sunday to celebrate our father's 91st birthday. Federico was magnificent, in his welcome and the menu chosen was fantastic with dishes made with excellent raw materials and well cooked. Excellent choice of wines. We will be back soon!

From the first moment, the warm welcome from the owner, Bianca, and her staff made us feel like special guests. The menu was an authentic journey through traditional flavors: 🥂 Refined and well-presented mixed appetizers, with a selection of crostini, cured meats and cheeses of the highest quality, accompanied by delicious sauces that enhanced every flavor. 🍝 The first courses were the highlight of the evening: - Potato tortelli with Cinta Senese ragù, genuine and tasty, a perfect balance of tradition and taste. - Cacio e pepe tortello with truffle, an explosion of refinement, prepared that same morning by Bianca with a mastery that left everyone speechless. 🍷 The wine, selected from the renowned local winery Il Gallettino di Alessandro Fattorini, masterfully accompanied each course, with the Lustro proving to be an excellent choice. 🍰 The desserts, also homemade with great attention to detail, closed the meal with a touch of perfect sweetness. 04/06/2025: The evening was very pleasant. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food, from antipasti to dessert, was delicious and reasonably priced. I had the "Franco" pizza, which I highly recommend. The restaurant has a rustic decor and is lovingly decorated.

05/06/2025: Today we had lunch at the Antico ristoro Perditempo, overlooking the enchanting Ponte Vecchio. A quiet and clean environment, quality dishes and Tuscan tradition really well cooked and tasty. Impeccably managed and cared for. We shared the mixed platter and then ate ribollita and tripe. To finish the real torta della nonna and the inevitable cantucci with vino santo. Very honest quality/price ratio
