My family and I went to Oro di Siena to celebrate my mum’s birthday and it was amazing!!! Making a reservation was so easy and they were very quick to respond. Two of us were vegan and they were so accommodating, making a full vegan menu. The atmosphere is so lovely there and the food was absolutely delicious. Matteo and his mum (the chef) made our experience in Siena wonderful.

We visited for lunch on a weekday in October. We had eaten a lot of traditional Tuscan food (pici, pappa al pomodoro, etc etc) and were looking to find some more unique, elevated dishes. oro hit the spot. They had great modern Tuscan food. As an appetizer We ordered pappa del pomodoro that came as 3 toasted balls of the soup with Tuscan cabbage, and Tuscan kale.
We then had two primo: a gnocchi with pesto and a pappardelle with hare. Both were excellent. The gnocchi was simple, pillowy, and delicious. The pappardelle with hare was an uncanny match for chicken soup flavor, in a good way. The pappardelle was the best I had in Italy with a great spring to it without being too chewy or too soft.
We finished with a main of meatballs with a tomato sauce on a bed of thinly sliced Tuscan cabbage that has been sauted. The meatballs and cabbage went together perfectly to create a beautiful and unique dish.
Overall the dishes were unique takes on classic Tuscan ingredients and dishes. In my opinion it was our best meal in Italy. 5/5

We stopped in for a late-night drink and were warmly welcomed by the owner, who was genuinely friendly and attentive. The bar offers a huge selection of wines and spirits, and we were blown away by the quality — the grappa and limoncello were easily the best we’ve ever tasted. A hidden gem worth visiting!

A refined, elegant yet unpretentious restaurant run by a mother (cook) and son (waiter). Every detail is carefully considered, from the decor to the presentation of the dishes, which raise expectations of flavors and tastes, and are perfectly met. The use of local ingredients makes the meal a journey of flavors. A birthday celebration in style.

Matteo was a very good Maitre D’. Food was impeccable. Here for anniversary and first time in Sienna. The pork dish was very delicious and my wife liked rabbit dish. Marmalade desert nailed it. Ambience and rose before dinner was solid! Will come back when back in Sienna!

Tonight all items were well beyond expectation, a fantastic Ch. Classico 2011(your recommendation), the pasta share and our mains: stuffed rabbit (heavenly) and the veal stuffed pepper fruit were all unbelievably pleasing.
