28/04/2026: Dinner with friends, escaping the city. We looked for a seafood restaurant and found Il Sottomarino: a unique experience. The waiters were super kind, polite, and professional; we felt worthy of their great attention (even down to the smallest details). We decided to each have a first course and share a fried fish for the second course, all preceded by a delicious complimentary entrée. The dishes were superb, truly delicate yet out of this world. The desserts were fabulous; for someone who loves dark chocolate but not the "sweetest sweet," I found mine enchanting. All accompanied by a delicious bottle of wine, while watching the sunset over the sea on the outdoor veranda. At one point, they noticed we'd put our jackets back on and turned on a heat lamp for us. This is truly the attention to detail that makes the experience complete. The final bill was around €50 each, and honestly, I would have spent even more. Highly recommended!!!

In particular, I must give immense praise to the cappellacci all'ossobuco: simply divine. I don't think I've ever tasted such a delicious, balanced, and flavorful dish; every bite was an explosion of flavors that literally enchanted me. ​A sensory experience that I highly recommend to anyone in Pitigliano. A must-try!

The service is friendly and effortless, making you feel more like a guest than a customer. Every detail, from the rustic decor to the intense flavors, tells a story of tradition and a love of cooking. An authentic experience that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience the real Tuscany.

In summer, you can also dine outdoors under a lemon trellis, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere. The menu is extensive, offering both seafood and meats – you're unlikely to be disappointed! Scallops with Spicy Mango and Sour Cream Ice Cream: This dish is truly amazing! The flavors blend perfectly, refreshing and sweet. Slow-cooked beef tongue with wild berries, Ndua sausage, and parsley aioli. The beef tongue was incredibly tender, and the sauce was rich and layered; definitely worth ordering. Spicy Scallops with Asparagus Cream and White Garlic. Baby squid and clams with asparagus cream and white garlic; overall okay, but slightly less memorable than the previous two dishes. SPAMS LAY LAY LAY LAY LAY LAY LAY LAY The handmade pasta has a fantastic texture, and the seafood is plentiful. It's the kind of dish that's consistently delicious. LAY LAY My first impression was: It looks so ugly? Will it taste good? But one bite and I was completely proven wrong! Paired with peas and bergamot sauce, it's incredibly refreshing and balanced. Beef tenderloin was very tender, and the doneness was perfect. The foie gras was a little too rich for me. Foie gras dessert was something I'd been wanting to try before I even came! The balance of sweet and sour is excellent, not cloying at all – a big plus! Overall, I was very satisfied with the meal; it's a restaurant worth making a special trip to try! They also have a branch in London, so I'm a little curious if the quality there is just as good.
