I want to write this review even though my visit dates back to August 7, 2023. I came with my partner by calling that same evening to book a table and immediately, even though the place was full, they managed to find us an available table. Once we arrived they made us sit on the terrace overlooking the sea, proving to be kind and extremely welcoming. The food was obviously delicious as always (the first courses are absolutely the best and the fried food with homemade mayonnaise is amazing... perhaps we were expecting a little more for the mixed seafood grill but otherwise impeccable!). I consider "il Sottomarino" one of my absolute favorite restaurants and when I'm nearby going there is a must! For the rest, impeccable service and the very kind waitress, so much so that that evening was my birthday and when she brought the dessert she paid the utmost care and attention. I absolutely don't want to take this for granted, and on the contrary... the fact that after some time I occasionally think back to the service I received has further pushed me to look for you to write to you. Il locale ben curato ed accogliente, gode di ottima posizione centrale nel lungomare di Follonica, quindi vista mare. Il servizio è cortese ma non troppo formale, atmosfera disinvolta. I piatti sono di buona qualità e ottima presentazione. Appetitosi, gustosi e con grande scelta e varietà. E' stata una bella esperienza per un bel pranzo domenicale. Lo consiglio assolutamente.

I can only say that it is my obligatory stop when I pass through Follonica. The restaurant is of a high standard on every front. Cuisine, wines, location, staff. The cuisine is classic cuisine but with small reinterpretations and features that undoubtedly improve its appearance and taste. The wines with a large cellar and typologies can satisfy every request. The dishes were well presented and still fair, not too abundant but not empty. They allow you to finish the meal full and satisfied. The place is not sumptuous, but elegantly simple. The staff is really very well trained, kind, attentive but not intrusive. The prices for the quality of the food and the location are still low, very very accessible. I recommend paying a visit and calmly tasting the chef's proposals.

I think one of the best fish restaurants in the area, it isn't starred but it's close!!! High prices but worth it all!
