02/01/2025: B.O.r.G.O. came to the rescue when our previous dining plans for the evening fell through, and boy did they deliver. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was excellent, and we felt so welcomed. It is obvious that Gabriele, the owner, chef, waiter, dishwasher, and seemingly everything else, pours his heart and soul into this restaurant and his cooking. Our only regret was being too full for dessert (with a hand-drawn menu.) This place is a hidden gem, and I highly recommend everyone give it a shot when passing through Florence.

06/01/2025: A guarantee!!! You eat divinely. I've tasted almost everything and I couldn't choose which dish is my favorite. .. the tartare, the crunchy octopus, the cod, the linguine with cuttlefish ink, not to mention the duck foie gras. And one of the best restaurants in Florence. Everything is meticulously cared for and thought out to perfection. The desserts are all worth tasting, delicious and unique. Excellent selection of wines. The staff are very professional and attentive to every detail but without feeling their presence excessively. The prices are really low for the quality of the cuisine and the service. 💯💯💯

02/01/2025: Got the 5 course meal belcore experience. We thought it was 57eu for 2 people which the waiter told us but the manager corrected us later that it was 57eu per person. Nonetheless we didn’t mind the cost as it was worth the money. Food was delicious. I loved the beef tartare (first time to eat raw meat like that) and squid ink pasta. I didn’t like the cocoa pasta coz the filling tasted like tuna spread. The orange cheesecake for dessert was really good. I had mine to-go because i was so full.

03/11/2024: Place in a quiet and cozy location just outside the main squares. Inside it appears a little confusing, with a modern, almost circus-like style, with combinations of historic wooden furniture and bright curtains. Overall you can see the desire to be elegant, I would aim for that. As a first course, two tagliatelle with mushrooms and saffron, good, slightly watery and not too tasty. Maybe I would use some porcini mushrooms and review the balance between the flavors to give the dish a little boost. Like a second Florentine steak, matured for 70 days, perfectly cooked: rare but not cold. Tasty and tender, slightly orange fat, really good. Baked potatoes truly to remember, light and fragrant, not heavy, crunchy. The manager is a truly capable and attentive person who transmits passion. Service of the Fiorentina cut at the table performed very well. In essence, a place with great potential, if you fix something it can be at the top.

16/12/2024: The restaurant gives a nice vibe. We had the 6 courses meal which were fantastic. Great venue for a special treat. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Seeing us waiting outside for a taxi for few minutes, the waiter offered to help book a taxi and invited us to wait inside. Thank you!

10/12/2024: There are no words to describe this restaurant, it literally feels like entering another world!! Hospitality, kindness, professionalism, delicious food and atmosphere. It's all perfect for a totally relaxing evening enjoying Japanese cuisine recommended by an extremely knowledgeable and professional staff. It is certainly a place that I highly recommend to anyone who loves true Japanese cuisine and wants to spend a different evening.

07/01/2025: I spent New Year's Eve in a camper with 4 other crews, the rest area surrounded by greenery with loading and unloading, electricity, the owners Antonella and Giancarlo were exquisite people, a guided tour of the brewery with a detailed explanation of how they produce beer.... New Year's Eve dinner with excellent food and a fair price, a spectacular venue decorated with care, we had a really good time! Fantastic experience!

28/12/2024: Fantastica esperienza. I due padroni di casa ci hanno accolto con gentilezza e spiegato nel dettaglio la loro attività fatta di passione e sacrificio. La visita al loro laboratorio è stata seguita da una ricca degustazione di 6 loro birre accompagnata da un ricco tagliere. Le birre sono tutte davvero speciali, non è stato semplice selezionare quelle da portare a casa. Tappa super consigliata per gli amanti del genere.

07/01/2025: We found this spot by accident after visiting the statue of David and before heading over to the Duomo. Just walking around, we decided to stop in for lunch. It's really excellent and was one of the best places we ate in all of Tuscany. The Ravioli Al Limone (with truffle cream sauce) is AMAZING. If you don't get anything else there, get that.

07/11/2024: We wanted to eat ice cream during our visit to Certaldo at the end of October. Due to the time change, the ice cream parlor didn't open until later, so we had to wait a bit. The owners greeted us friendly and gave us patient advice. There were many delicious varieties and all 5 family members were very satisfied!! We'd love to come back! The price of the ice cream was completely reasonable. We paid around 15 euros for 5 people.

29/12/2024: Localino accogliente piacevole ed informale, cibo buono ed ambiente piacevole, di ispirazione cubana. Chiediamo un fritto di solo calamari e non misto con verdure e. a. come prevede il menu. La signora ci spiega doviziosamente perché non è possibile farlo. Prendiamo atto della sua articolat spiegazione. Ma neanche dopo poco tempo, vediamo passare davanti ai nostri occhi e servire al tavolo accanto, un fragrante fritto dorato di soli calamari... ne captiamo la vista e l'odore ma niente di più. E la doviziosa spiegazione della signora? boh. ....è comunque evidente neanche al Varadero siamo tutti uguali? Saranno trattamenti special riservati ai membri del PC Cubano? o la frittura è solo servita, ai dissidenti anti-castristi? Chissà.......per scoprirlo bisognerà tornarci. Vedremo :-)

19/10/2024: Sabato a cena: cercando di trattenete l'entusiasmo e le aspettative per le ottime recensioni fissiamo un tavolo per sabato a cena. Locale curato e allegro con circa 30 coperti più dehor esterno. Menù interessante e interessanti proposte fuori carta. Il servizio è molto attento e soprattutto preparato, lo staff sorridente, ci siamo sentiti a nostro agio. Abbiamo preso due antipasti e due secondi più il dolce e caffè. Le porzioni sono giuste e siamo rimasti assolutamente soddisfatti dal gusto perchè si sente la qualità della materia prima e la capacità di preparare le pietanze. Andare a mangiare pesce, che sa di pesce veramente, non è una cosa scontata. Qui era tutto veramente buono! Abbiamo volutamente preso il vino della casa per capire il livello e anche quello mi ha soddisfatto, contanto che il giorno dopo stavamo benissimo (perchè se è andato tutto bene, soprattutto con pesce crudo, lo capisci solo dopo). Le porzioni sono giuste e sinceramente, per quanto riguarda i prezzi, mi sembrano onesti per la proposta che è di qualità e quindi il rapporto vale! Poi comunque sono nella media di Firenze. Anche sui vini, vedendo la lista, non fanno rincari esagerati, e tra l'altro hanno una buona scelta dal vermentino, trebbiano, prosecco, etc. Per trovare un difetto, forse gli spazi sono un pò sacrificati, ma siamo stati bene ed è questo quello che conta! 26/12/2024: Super Indian! Lots of options and menus, all cheap and great! With €16.50 each we got a complete menu, from starter to dessert, and water. Very good and recommended Punjabi vegetarian menu.

29/11/2024: I recently visited Ristorante India Gate and had a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a night out with family or friends. The food is absolutely amazing - each dish was flavorful and expertly prepared. The staff is also very friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of food and service. However, I did have one issue that prevented me from giving a perfect score. Unfortunately, the owner/manager seemed somewhat dismissive and unprofessional when I had a minor issue with my order. As a customer, it's essential to feel respected and heard, especially when paying good money for a meal. Overall, I would still highly recommend Ristorante India Gate for its delicious food, lovely ambiance, and friendly staff.
