06/08/26 My husband & myself returned to each enjoy the 4course set menu for a bargain €54 ( selecting from various options with the proviso both diners eat the same selection). We Loved every single dish ..& were particularly charmed with the Amuse sent out by the kitchen: Seared watermelon ( warm!!!) in à tomato broth with sunflower seeds!… So o clever & delightful!!! A special note of appreciation must also be made with the outstanding sommelier advice given in assisting us to select from the beautiful open pour selection on offer ..& to drink so very well (& adequately!) for a total of just over €40 is rare value indeed ! Highly recommended-again.) ——00—— Widely travelled & highly experienced food & wine loving chums joined my husband & myself for our return here for àn à la carte dinner( they do have set menus) ..& we were all delighted with our highly individual choices from the menu + the fine wines (at fair prices) selected by our internationally recognised “wineman “ guest -who commented in passing, on the good cellar range from which he’d selected our lovely red & white wines for the evening. One slight reservation could’ve been had àbout the strident saucing delivered with my near blue-rare ( dissected!) pigeon main - but it certainly worked that is admitted. A prompt beginning of kitchen service was appreciated-& well staged later delivery course by course nicely done- however the flawed white wine table chilling was a nonesense as dropping a opened bottle of wine onto a base of ice cubes in plastic sleeve was never going to keep the Sylvanyer from getting dangerously too close to room temperature..& this error of judgement Re the wine service was hard to understand seeing these guys are so experienced…? ONLY àn ice bucket works in my experience ! This informal & laidback, conveniently quiet atmosphere is such a pleasure in which to enjoy splendidly fresh ingredients being prepared in a modern way - plated with imagination& with yet still with great respect for the noble Italian cuisine traditions many if us hold dear. Top marks fellas -recommended warmly !

The staff were friendly and helpful, but overall the experience wasn't the best. Despite choosing the six-course tasting menu (the best the restaurant offers), we left feeling hungry due to some portions that were decidedly too small. The quality of the dishes was still very good, but the quantity compromised the experience. However, paying almost €80 per person (with water and cover charge) and leaving the restaurant feeling unsatisfied is something I personally find unacceptable.

IO Osteria Personale delivered one of the best meals of our Italy trip — inventive, precise cooking with genuine personality. A roasted watermelon amuse-bouche opened things on a delightfully unexpected note. We started with the steak tartare (roasted corn cream, chimichurri, fried capers) and the roasted Roman salad, both excellent, then moved to the smoked-butter risotto and the garlic-and-chili spaghetti with raw pink shrimp — both beautifully executed. The roasted octopus and the pigeon were the standouts to finish, and our two young daughters were completely won over by the pigeon, which says something about how approachable the kitchen makes even ambitious dishes. The salted popcorn ice cream (toffee, smoked tea crumble, dark chocolate ganache) closed the night on a high — the girls raved about it. We paired the meal with a Tenuta di Montefoscoli "Vacevoli," a coastal Tuscan white that matched perfectly. Warm, attentive service and an intimate room made it feel special from start to finish. If you want something beyond the tourist-trail trattorias in Florence, come here. Highly recommended.

Food is delicious, great wine selection, nice staff. Great experience overall, would definitely come back.

For our last night in Florence, my wife suggested Osteria Personale and we could not be happier. The meal was the best we had in the city and perhaps the best of our entire trip. The staff could not have been warmer or more welcoming! The food was so interesting and beyond amazing. I ordered the fish with a creamy anchovie sauce and my wife ordered the ravioli which was the best she ever ate. Our two daughters raved about their meals. The chocolate and strawberry dessert was also amazing. Try this place... you'll be glad you did. We can't recommend it any more enthusiastically!!!

Beautiful restaurant in the center of Florence. Fantastic food and service, exceptional wine list. Definitely worth returning.

The evening was a 10/10; we had absolutely attentive and friendly service. There was absolutely nothing to add. We had the 5-course menu, highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

Vegetarian options are present but a little limited, service was excellent. Portions are quite small.
