07/07/2025: Restaurant with innovative cuisine located at the beginning of the historic center of Ivrea near the Lungo Dora. Rustic interior with tables outside. I did the Vecchio Ponte menu with appetizer, first course, second course based on fish and dessert. The lampuga civiche with avocado and tiger's milk and the swordfish steak with salicornia and gazpacho were good, the buttons with lobster and potatoes were decent and the portion was really small (4 in number), the dessert was very good (pineapple, passion fruit, coconut and vanilla Bavarian cream). Menu price €45 excluding the €4 cover charge (very high). One waitress is a bit grumpy, while the owner is very kind. The wine list is extensive.

06/07/2025: The location of the Ristorante San Maurizio is truly enchanting: a small jewel immersed in a suggestive context, with a refined atmosphere and a cuisine that promises sensory emotions. The dishes are well presented, with quality raw materials and combinations that reveal a creative hand and attention to detail. However, the overall experience was penalized by a welcome at the reception that was far from up to par with the rest. It would be desirable for the management to pay more attention to the initial customer experience, because when you cross the threshold of a restaurant like this, you expect not only a good meal, but also a warm and professional welcome.

In a place called "l'Astoria da Mauro" I expect at least some reference to the USTA (it's not that I want the Astoria di Udine, but at least a t-shirt or something...) but above all "da Mauro"... one expects to see MERE of the UDA, or at least one of his VERY NICE goliardic writings, but nothing, not even half a Masaniello...

17/02/2025: Le precedenti recensioni sono quelle che mi hanno convinto a prenotare...e le nostre aspettative sono state più che soddisfatte. Spadellata di gamberi e carciofi/paella di pesce/sarde a beccafico...cannolo scomposto. Suggerirei solo di aggiornare la pagina Fb per conoscere il menù giornaliero in anticipo... Avrei gradito assaggiare il classico cannolo... invece della versione scomposta che non è stato agevole mangiare con una forchetta (il cucchiaino era più indicato). Ma assolutamente aggiustato qualche particolare, il locale è assolutamente da promuovere.

The atmosphere is refined, with excellent cuisine, including both meat and fish dishes; the veal with tuna sauce and the spaghetti with mussels and clams are both excellent. The service was impeccable, and the wine selection was also good. Highly recommended.

25/01/2025: Truly atypical restaurant but worth trying. Small and charming place, shame that it is poorly lit. Very well prepared and classy dishes. We also took the wine tasting and they are very well paired and very good.

11/06/2025: Great gelato, tiny portions! I had the pleasure of trying the gelato, and I have to say that the taste was really good. I got a cone with two flavors and the quality of the ingredients and the creaminess of the gelato were nice, with authentic and well-balanced flavors. However, I was a little disappointed with the quantities. The portion was so small that, once I tasted the first layer, I almost immediately found myself eating more cone than gelato. It almost felt like I had ordered an empty cone! I understand that quality has a price, but the quantity offered makes the experience less satisfying than it could be. In summary: the gelato is good, but be prepared to mainly enjoy the cone! I hope that in the future they can be a little more generous with the portions, because the product is really worth it.
