24/07/2025: My partner and I visited this restaurant for lunch in July and were truly satisfied. The atmosphere is welcoming, simple yet refined, with that authentic touch that only a family-run business can provide. I chose a slice of Irish beef, served with a selection of aromatic salts that enhanced every bite: tender, perfectly cooked, and flavorful. My partner instead opted for the tzigoiner, a dish she knew well and which here truly lived up to expectations. We accompanied everything with sautéed potatoes that deserve a special mention: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, tasty without being heavy. The service was friendly and punctual, with the typical warmth of those who put their heart into their work. You can tell it's a family-run business, and that really makes a difference. We'll definitely be back. If you love well-prepared meat, this place is a guarantee.

06/08/2025: A very nice restaurant. It doesn't have a lake view, but it offers a relaxing, quiet atmosphere, away from the noise and away from the road. The food is okay, but nothing exceptional: the menu offers a good variety of meat and fish. The house wine was pleasant.

02/08/2025: Eating well in Livigno, counterintuitively, is NOT easy at all. I've been frequenting this place for years and I've noticed a not-so-slow but inexorable decline in the quality of service, food, and relationships: perhaps it's overtourism... The S. Giovanni restaurant is a happy exception, discovered purely by chance and never abandoned: we've dined there four nights in a row since we "found" it, always experiencing friendliness, professionalism, a warm welcome, and authentic, tasty, and nutritious food—the kind your mother would cook for you (a mother who knows how to cook!!!). Fair prices, a casual and very warm atmosphere, and service that isn't always impeccable, but only because they're really crowded at peak times. There's room for improvement, and I'm sure they will. No, it's not (anymore) easy to eat well in Livigno, but people—many, many people—are learning to seek out and find the good mountain cuisine of the past in places like this, not settling for decoys that only lead to terrible experiences. I'll be back, we'll be back. Meanwhile, we send warm regards to the entire team and the very kind owner, wishing them continued success. E.D.

28/07/2025: I discovered this bakery purely by chance, partly because it had never been recommended to me. A great discovery, in my opinion. And in central Bergamo, a bakery that continues to churn out hot, delicious products all morning is a little oasis amidst a sea of ordinary bakeries. I had a calzone with friarelli and scamorza cheese and an escarole and olive calzone that were amazing, piping hot and melting in my mouth. Then I had a regular focaccia and a Roman focaccia. The freshly made focaccia was a real treat, crispy, melting, and nicely salted—wow! The gentleman who served me was very kind and friendly, and the line moved quickly. I recommend it to everyone who wants to eat well, without going to useless places where you might spend a lot and eat poorly.

29/05/2025: I had eaten there before but this lunch today was terrible service without a constant change of fish and dishes often only black dishes, that is, the most expensive ones some that have been around for a long time have become inedible so much so that I sent them back including the steamed ravioli that are hard and cold just to say that, for the price they have, the quality should be excellent not to mention the staff, not very polite while I leave the table, I try to collect my things but he intervenes preventing me from leaving I point this out to him, he responds with arrogance and indifference I suggest to the gentlemen owners of Basara to choose the staff more carefully. 90 euros 8 small plates and a bottle of water!!!! THE FOOD IS A SERIOUS THING alas, it's just fluff

10/05/2025: The cube is good, excellent raw fish. It's a shame that the staff is always unkind, almost rude. The level of the restaurant deserves waiters with higher education.

08/07/2025: The bar is located on the bank of the canal, you can sit outside with a beautiful view (but be prepared for street vendors selling all sorts of junk from time to time). There is no food, only small snacks like crackers. A good selection of craft beer of different styles.
