03/06/2026: We've now been in Italy for two weeks, and this is by far the best dinner we've had. FOOD / DRINK - This place focuses on Milanese food, and it's definitely different from generic Italian, let alone Florentine or Roman fare. Most of our dishes were or rested on amazingly cooked risotto, as befits Milan, and it was all deeply flavored and just a bit chewy and made you gain weight just looking at it, so saucy were they all. I had ossobucco (over a bed of yellow, creamy risotto), and it was as good as any I've ever had. The servings were also sizable. Three of five in our party took a good lunch-worth home. The place has a full bar, and, I suspect, a wine list -- but the house red was more than up to the task. There were also many bottles of ZenVero around the back room -- a new Milanese ginger liqueur that was actually quite tasty (in a ginger-cello sort of way). SERVICE - Friendly and helpful and efficient. We walked in without a reservation at 7:30 (opening) on a Wednesday night. They seated our party of 5 -- but by the time we left, the place was pretty full. Reservations recommended. AMBIANCE - In other reviews you'll see notes about the bright lighting, and they are not entirely wrong -- if you are looking for dark, romantic corners, this is probably not the place for you. On the other hand, we could see our food. And if my mother-in-law had come along for the meal, she wouldn't have needed to use the flashlight on her phone to read the menu. NET-NET - I would go back there tomorrow night. I would go back there every night for the rest of our stay. I am flagging this location to come back to should I ever be in Milan again ... or Turin, or Bologna. A dining delight.

10/05/2026: Enchanting, super relaxing location. Great lighting, music too. Let's move on to the menu: everything delicious. What can I say? 10 out of 10. Toscano in Lombardia: a pass. The Moggio amaro was also excellent (the very young lady at Sala couldn't tell us the name, but it was really good, with an intense thyme aroma! Well, the young lady, perhaps at her first experience, will need to work a little on her welcome, smiles, and courtesy 😅). The chef, on the other hand, is superb! Highly recommended.

28/02/2026: Putting ingredients on a plate is not cooking, they don’t know how to cook meat - both beef and chicken - and sides are barely acceptable. Service is not knowledgeable i.e.: “Do you want your chicken medium, well done, or how?” Are you kidding me? It’s not a cheap street place either, so you definitely don’t get what you pay for.

01/06/2026: I made a reservation and visited around lunchtime on May 17th. I ordered Ossobuco + Risotto, Ravioli, and Roasted Vegetables. The Roasted Vegetables were really delicious, and as for the Ravioli, it tastes best when eaten hot as soon as it comes out. The outer layer became hard as it cooled down. The Risotto had a flavor I was trying for the first time, but it was decent. The Ossobuco is similar to Korean Galbi-jjim (braised short ribs) and Jangjorim (beef jerky), but without the sweetness. It slices well along the grain, but you have to chew it for a long time once it enters your mouth. Since you are in Milan, it is worth trying at least once!! The staff are gruff but friendly.

22/01/2026: Authentic and family-friendly atmosphere. Delicious pizza by the slice: soft and light, deliciously crispy on the base, and a savory and flavorful topping. The restaurant also offers cured meats, cheeses, and traditional Tuscan dishes, including Florentine steak. We love coming back often.

24/03/2026: Il Navigliaccio is that place you don't expect to find on Milan's Navigli... Absolutely honest Tuscan cuisine... Here I tried the gnocchi with cacio e pepe and truffle... but first the excellent cured meats and a top-notch lardo! Absolutely worth a try... A bold, flavorful taste... 01/05/2026: I can't help but leave this review after an experience that literally ruined our day. We chose this place based on the numerous positive reviews, but the reality was quite different. The mixed Tuscan cold cuts were of poor quality, and the tagliolini with porcini mushrooms had a flavor and texture that made us doubt the freshness of the ingredients. The result? A guaranteed stomach ache. The place wasn't clean: an aspect that's unacceptable in a trattoria and should have made us get up and leave before even ordering. To top it all off, the bill was steep and almost as hard to stomach as the food. Full transparency: we won't be returning, and we don't recommend it.

11/04/2026: Disappointment: Tuscan pici, which instead of a good ragù, were served in a flavorless broth; chickpea gnocchi, also soupy and with an unappealing minestrone flavor; and the barley coffee in a large cup, strong and burnt. Recommended by Michelin, for sure, but not by me and my fellow diners.
