I migliori ristoranti in Roma

20/04/2025: I returned on Easter day (after many years) to this restaurant in the Borgo Pio area (Vatican) which decades ago was a "competitor" of the famous brewery in via della Croce, Piazza di Spagna-via del Babuino area (i.e. the "Viennese brewery" existing in Rome since the 1930s with typical furnishings and deer heads hanging on the wooden walls and then changed management and ... miserably failed in a few years). From what I know, it remains (along with another restaurant nearby) the only historic "Tyrolean" alternative to Rome. We ate 3 rich appetizers of mixed cold cuts and cheeses, two dishes with sausages of various types with potatoes (unfortunately fried and not boiled and flavoured) and sauerkraut and a pork fillet with red cabbage, 1 beer, 1 Cola 1 Sprite, sparkling water, 3 coffees (without dessert) for around 120 euros for 3 people. Attentive service, typical restaurant. I would SAY that 40 EUROS each is an acceptable amount for what is offered.

12/04/2025: Suggestive and particular place. We took cheese fondue and glutton grill (self-service grilled meat). For a place specializing in fondue, it keeps expectations high with tasty and delicious dishes. The bill was also a surprise although slightly high for the product itself but being in Rome and one of the few to offer this specialty it is more than justified. However we spent less than the total we expected.

11/02/2025: I had been missing from this place for about 4 years. I have to say that last night I was quite disappointed compared to previous experiences and expectations. The place is still nice and the service is kind, but the quality and quantity of the dishes has significantly worsened. Plus the higher prices. I will return for a new evaluation, but in the meantime...

17/03/2025: Eccellente la qualità e la varietà, tagliere da aperitivo ricco, servizio rapido ed accogliente. Posticino che meriterebbe più visibilità!

03/03/2025: Posticino minuscolo, infrattato in una piccola viuzza dietro Boccea, ma veramente buonissimo. Tagliere di salumi e formaggi veramente ottimo, anche se 50 euro per un tagliere (anche se per 2 persone) mi son sembrati un po' tantini. I crostoni anche buoni, ma secondo me mancava qualche scelta calda, perchè mi son sembrati tutti freddi. Un paio di appunti: in un posto del genere, il pane deve essere degno partecipante del pasto e non un mero accompagnatore. Secondo me ci starebbe bene la presenza di 2/3 pani diversi e magari qualche focaccia, anche bruschettati. Inoltre io indicherei meglio che i dolci non sono di vostra produzione, se lo avessi saputo, sinceramente avrei evitato di ordinarlo. Ritonerneremo perchè si mangia veramente bene.

09/03/2025: We were not happy with the good seafood starter, then sautéed mussels that had not been cleaned... Risotto with scampi cream (with only one small and uncleaned scampi) full of cream and fat and also with a hair on the plate. Anonymous mixed fried food

23/04/2025: We were looking for a place to have an aperitif a little away from the crowd and we ended up here by chance. Perfect! Very friendly service that immediately put us at ease (thanks Nelly!) and a very nice and welcoming place, furnished in an original way and with tables both outside and inside. We really liked the food and we appreciated the aperitif offered by the house! Highly recommended!

01/03/2025: Insufficient service, we ordered fettuccine with mushrooms and they brought us the tables 😡 but to make matters worse they didn't even serve all the dishes together, some of them arrived after 10 minutes, 😡 we noticed the same problem at the table next to us, then when the kebabs arrived they were burnt, our experience was very negative and frankly we wondered how there could be so many people in that place 😅 maybe we took the evening off but if in doubt we won't go back more😉

25/03/2025: An excellent little cafe just outside the Vatican. It's the perfect distance to escape the crowds while not straying too far! The food was great, and the waffle was INCREDIBLE.

03/04/2025: Wonderful pizza, very light, always well cooked and well leavened. The red one, the one with potatoes, with onions... thin and crunchy!!! Don't miss it!!!
