17/10/2024: I recently traveled to Chef Stefano's mountain retreat with my sister who is a chef, and her friend who was also interested in learning the rustic dishes of Tuscany. I am the first to admit that I am not a cook but I certainly love to eat and I have to say that the food my sister and her friend prepared under the direction of Chef Stefano was so very very delicious and filling. They cooked poultry, beef, veal, pork, fish, lamb and various pasta dishes. All were amazing. My favorite was the white lasagna. Those noodles were so thin my sister and her friend found muscles they didn't know they had! I was in charge of washing pots, pans and dishes and chief cheese grater! I am not going to speak of the cooking part of the trip but of the travels through Tuscany that Stefano took us on each day. The vistas were beautiful. His knowledge of history of the regions, art, culture and much more was incredible. From the time we left the monastery lodging in Balze each morning to our breakfast coffee in the medieval villages, sightseeing, going to museums and churches with breathtaking statues, paintings and frescos it was a feast for our eyes. Lunch was also incredible. We feasted on pizza, pasta, and I even got a great cheeseburger in Arezzo! I think the best lunch was the fried calamari off of a food truck. We just walked around the town with our bag of freshly fried calamari enjoying the sights and sounds of the village and markets. Each day was a different medieval village where the markets provided the basic ingredients for our evening supper. Stefano was so easy going. I wanted to go to mass on Sunday and he dropped me off at the village church which was in town. The local people were very friendly. After church I walked back to the monastery which gave me a chance to enjoy the beautiful countryside. I took a picture of a mountain stream that was the beginning of the Tiber River that flows through Rome. I can't think of one thing that I would have changed. From the time he picked us up in Florence to the time he dropped us off for our train back to Rome EVERYTHING was taken care of by him. It truly was all inclusive. I am most grateful that he took us to LaVerna which is a Sanctuary of St. Francis of Assisi and a place that many locals and visitors alike make a pilgrimage. I will let my sister and her friend post pictures of their cooking delights. I just wanted to address the fact that if you don't want to cook, or like me, just have high anxiety when cooking (could be the fact that my grandfather, whose family was from Lombardy, was a great cook, as well as my mother and my sister and brother), you can have a memorable experience just seeing Tuscany, Umbria and Emilia-Romagna. Would I go back? Absolutely, plus I can't wait to tell EVERYONE how great the trip was. Thank you Stefano.

02/10/2024: My wife and I were lucky enough to spend 4 night touring Florence with Stefano followed by 6 nights cooking and touring with him at his mountain home base. We had so much fun during the entire time with him. We highly recommend him both as a guide and as a cooking instructor. We would definitely do it again!

17/12/2024: very good and great variety. What I don't understand is the impossibility of being able to choose a smaller and therefore cheaper plate. The plate that allows you to choose between all the dishes is truly abundant, many may not want to have lunch with such large portions.

20/12/2024: Intenté reservar una mesa en el Ristorante Gianni de Bolonia para almorzar el 2 de enero de 2025 , con bastante más de 10 días de antelación. Solicité una mesa para 9 personas — 4 adultos y 5 niños — pero me sorprendió cuando me dijeron: "No, lo siento, con los niños, no tenemos espacio. " Esta respuesta me parece sumamente decepcionante y totalmente discriminatoria. En 2025 , una actitud tan excluyente hacia las familias, especialmente en una ciudad como Bolonia, es inaceptable. Los niños son una parte esencial de nuestra sociedad, y negarse a prestar servicios por su presencia va en contra de los principios de inclusión y hospitalidad que cualquier establecimiento respetable debe defender. Esta experiencia dejó una impresión amarga y dejó claro que las familias con niños no son bienvenidos aquí. No recomendaría este restaurante a cualquiera que busque una experiencia gastronómica familiar. Hay muchos otros lugares maravillosos en Bolonia donde todos son tratados con respeto y calidez.

23/12/2024: Innovation research study and lots of friendliness. When you enter this place you immediately have the feeling of being at home due to the way it is managed by the Owner and his Staff. People present available and cheerful. The food and drinks are of a high standard. You can perceive the study and work behind every single course. Personally, the basil mayonnaise surprised me in an unexpected way. There are also vegetarian dishes. The possibility of "composing" your own sandwich independently with the help of the QR code via smartphone is very nice. Cozy, clean place with a perfect atmosphere. 08/12/2024: Dinner with the family, a pleasant discovery. Six of us went, everything was very good, tasty, rich and non-trivial sandwiches with surprising combinations... a very honest bill and a truly courteous and helpful service. Definitely recommended

22/12/2024: Lunch for 2. It does not disappoint expectations: the atmosphere of the internal room is truly pleasant and quiet; the dishes speak for themselves: note of merit for the tortellini with parmesan cream, which made in this way and so good cannot be found in many other places. The cured meats are evidently of good quality and the choice of wines is also wide. Trifle, whose mere presence on the menu is already appreciated, very good. Attentive and friendly staff.

22/12/2024: Small but well-kept and clean location with tables also outside Menu: varied choice of first, second and side dishes. The choice of vegan dishes is limited 😭 Service: attentive, helpful, kind and pleasant staff. Use of plastic plates 😅 Bill: very good, because the portions are generous

08/12/2024: It was during a random walk in the city that we stopped here to eat a little something. It did us a lot of good: the Trofie alla genovese (among others) were delicious! Of course, the plates are made of cardboard here, but how good are they! One of the best pasta plates of our stay. Very good welcome and service for a very affordable price. If I come back to Bologna one day, I will make a little detour here! 😉

03/07/2024: Very welcoming and elegant place, a little small, a few minutes from the station and a few steps from the bus stop. Polite and friendly staff. Wide choice of delicious desserts and cakes. They make VERY GOOD husbandzzi like the one I ate in Rome. It takes a maximum of 30 minutes to accommodate all the customers.
