24/03/2025: We first discovered La Solita Zuppa in June 2019, during a stay at the nearby Poggio Piglia. Our initial visit was for lunch — and it was so wonderful that we ended up returning for dinner every evening of that stay except for one. Andrea, the owner, was warm and knowledgeable, entertaining us with stories about the evolution of Tuscan cuisine and offering thoughtful recommendations from the menu and anecdotes about the ingredients. The restaurant itself is charmingly decorated, with a beautiful vaulted brick ceiling and little green gingham details. Andrea's wife is the chef, and every dish — from the simple yet perfectly executed tomato and garlic pici, to the elegant gnudi with sage and the richly flavoured ginger ravioli — was cooked to absolute perfection. We discovered the influence of Italy's ancient connection with the Silk Road still alive today in many of the dishes. All through the pandemic and unable to travel, we promised ourselves we’d return one day. And in August 2024, we finally repeated the same trip, again staying at Poggio Piglia and once again dining at La Solita Zuppa each night. While there had been some small changes since covid, including the addition of a cute little terrace, we were delighted to find Andrea and his wife still running the restaurant, and many of the dishes we had dreamt about (and even tried to recreate at home) still on the menu. The entire experience was just as amazing as we had remembered, if not even better. The restaurant was definitely busier than it had been during our last trip, which was wonderful to see, and our only single disappointment was that Andrea was far too busy with all of our fellow diners to spend very much time at our table. On our last evening he recommended us the wine 'Vigna Flavia' from a small vineyard in Chiusi, which was so wonderful that we now regularly order cases of it to enjoy at home in Switzerland. Our favourites on the menu (I think we managed to try everything!) were the gnudi with sage (sometimes served with truffle), the ginger ravioli with poppy seeds, the garlic pici, the maiale with rosemary and honey, and the sformato which we also had once served with black truffle. We are real foodies and have eaten in all kinds of restaurants all over the world, from three star Michelin establishments to street food stands, always searching for places that blow us away. There is something very special about La Solita Zuppa and the honesty of the place, the inventiveness of the menu and yet its embrace of tradition. Italian food at its BEST. We hope to return again!

01/03/2025: There was almost no one, it is very good and very underrated because of how original it is. We ate everything well, the pasta ragout was great, the bread was very bad. Normal dessert, Tiramisu did not convince us, for everything else a 10.

The evening meal at the restaurant was delicious, with expert culinary advice from our server. The morning breakfast was complete and varied, with everything you needed to start the day off right. Antonio once again took great care of us. A big thank you for their warm welcome! I highly recommend.

Everything delicious, from the broccoli pie to the crostini with pecorino and honey to the first truffle tortelli with porcini mushrooms and a mushroom pie, with the kindness of the staff, surrounded by a family environment, I will gladly return

05/01/2025: An unforgettable experience every time! I have been to this restaurant four times, and each time it has been simply fantastic. The atmosphere is authentic and welcoming, perfect for savoring true Tuscan cuisine. Each dish is a celebration of the flavors of the area: from typical cured meats to first courses of homemade pasta, up to succulent meats cooked to perfection. The staff is always kind, attentive and ready to make the experience special. The view is breathtaking and adds that extra touch. I can't wait to return once again. It's the kind of place that makes you fall in love with Tuscany with every bite. Highly recommended!

10/03/2025: Highly recommended!! Had dinner in this small restaurant on a side street in the center of Siena. Recommended by a local person, we had a great time, typical dishes, cooked very well, the owners were really kind. Few seats so I recommend you book, open kitchen where the dishes are expertly prepared. Price is normal, don't miss it if like us you spend a few days in Siena and don't want to dine in the usual tourist restaurants.

This restaurant represents a fusion between Tuscan culinary tradition and technological innovation, offering a unique gastronomic experience in step with the times. The place has introduced something new that makes it unique: a robot waiter named Bob. The atmosphere is welcoming and with attention to detail with attentive and friendly service. The quality-price ratio is right. Thanks for a good lunch! Highly recommended!

But here professional people come into play, and the Michelin star is merely a confirmation of the harmony that reigns. 02/03/2025: Excellent. Wonderful service, the restaurant was already closing, and we arrived in a group of 8 people, and they quickly accommodated us and served us with all the friendliness. The food is really wonderful, from the starter breads (made in-house) to the pastas.
