Free self-paced tour of the small cellar inside is a good start. The restaurant was great — good food, generous wine tasting, and friendly service. Try the local pici pasta (they have a large selection of sauces to choose from). The rabbit with wine sauce was a fun change of pace, and the beef was cooked properly. The views from the patio are classic Tuscan rolling hills.

What a pleasant surprise the wine tasting, the lesson about the winery, and lunch were! We were in a group on the Montepulciano tour, and we were greeted with a table set with cheeses, ham, salami, and a tasting of two of the house wines. Lunch was simple, a spaghetti bolognese, which was very well made, delicious.
We were surprised to find a Brazilian working there. It made communication much easier.

Very good meal and a great overall experience. I had the Tagliata al pepe verde, rosmarino e bacche rosse, and it was excellent—perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor without being overcomplicated. Easily one of the better steaks I’ve had on this trip.
Tammy had the Tagliolini al Vino Nobile (pasta fatta a mano), and she enjoyed it. Handmade pasta paired with a wine-based sauce making it rich but well balanced.

Truly exceptional pasta! I don't want to exaggerate, but I swear it was the best pici al ragù I've ever eaten in my life. Trust me: you absolutely have to come and eat here, you won't regret it.
The staff was kind and welcoming.
I didn't have time to take a photo because I was amazed, bite after bite!

My wife and I had dinner for our anniversary.

Spectacular cured meats.
Delicious meat.
Amazing dessert.
Spectacular wine.
Superlative grappa.

So
I've been coming here for years now, and I can say that the quality has always been high, especially in terms of price.
For those who like Tuscan crostini, they're top-notch.
The Vino Nobile is top-notch.
Both Poggio and Gattavecchi are excellent.
The staff is always friendly, too.

We stopped in for a quick lunch. There wasn't anyone to seat us, and it felt like we walked in on a private event. The dining room is very much like a dining hall with no windows. It was very warm and cozy on a cold, snowy day.
