09/06/2025: Disappointment compared to expectations from a 4 star I stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Alter in Barge last weekend (31 May 2 June) unfortunately with a disappointing experience compared to what was expected. The official website stated the presence of a swimming pool, an element that influenced our choice, but once we arrived we discovered that it was still under construction. After expressing our disappointment, we were not recognized any type of compensation or discount, except two free entrances to the swimming pools to use as soon as they were ready (I live more than 3 hours drive from the hotel do you think I'll go back for a dip in the pool??) The rooms are beautiful and well-kept, but the overall services, including the organization of the staff, are not up to the standard of a 4-star structure. In the morning, the same person had to take care of both breakfast and check-out at the reception, with obvious difficulties in managing both activities. The breakfast itself was rather basic and not adequately stocked: it would have been desirable to find a greater variety and, above all, more attention to replenishing what was running out. Even in terms of hospitality and support, expectations were not met: when we asked the receptionist for some advice on what to visit or do in the surrounding area, the information received was vague, not very precise and seemed improvised, a sign of poor preparation on the part of the staff. The staff was always courteous, but clearly insufficient in number, and the management/ownership seemed distant and not very attentive to the guests' experience. After our reports, we noticed that the site has now been updated, finally indicating that the swimming pool will be available from July: information that should have been clear already at the time of booking. Too bad, because the potential is there, but transparency, organization and attention to the customer must improve significantly. Approximate management.

19/06/2025: While cycling through the beautiful vineyards of Barbaresco, we stopped to visit the tower – and luckily, we also discovered Koki Wine Bar. What a fantastic place to take a break! We enjoyed excellent wines, wonderfully prepared food, and incredibly friendly service. Everything was served with great care and attention, and the atmosphere was relaxed and full of charm. A true hidden gem – whether you're exploring the region or just passing through, Koki is absolutely worth a stop!

25/05/2025: A nice place, kind, smiling and efficient staff, excellent dishes (I recommend veal with tuna sauce😋), hazelnut cake with zabaglione (amazing👍🏻), nice portions and reasonable prices for the quality of the food. Highly recommended!!

06/05/2025: Old hotel, modernized as best as possible here and there. Even though it is a family hotel, it does not have any ramp for access to strollers, a tiny lift. Rooms are small and not very functional and minimal in terms of services and comfort. Average food is poor although I repeat it a lot. In 3 days of stay the electricity went out in the hotel 7 times and on 2 evenings we were left without hot water. I wouldn't go back at all. To be avoided if you are looking for a comfortable hotel to live with as a family. Friendly staff but unprepared. The reception was unable to give us any information regarding the surrounding experiences nor did they have a map of the place to provide us. I don't recommend it, you will be disappointed

14/06/2025: Questo posto é perfetto per una serata in compagnia. Il cibo è ottimo, molto raffinato e di qualità. Lo staff è cordiale e molto disponibile. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente.

11/05/2025: Grinzane Cavour is known for its castle, but stay for the food at Vineria Sisu. The owner is a lovely woman who makes great good with local ingredients. The fried bread is amazing and the service is good. We ate outdoors across the street and could not have enjoyed ourselves more. And the wine selection is complete with local options that will not disappoint.

26/04/2025: In visita a Grinzane C., individuato questo locale per un breve spuntino. Buona la posizione in centro con anche una terrazza all'aperto. Vineria, ma abbiamo preso un primo (un flan di verdure e dei tagliolini alla salsiccia), di buona qualità e sapore. Ambiente giovane e cordiale, pane e grissini abbondanti (non sempre accade...). Caffè molto buono (anche questo non accade sempre...).

14/01/2025: Starting with the food, I have to congratulate the chef. They offer a menu for 10 euros of a primo and secondo with a very complete outline and with many possibilities, they are willing to accommodate your preferences. In terms of service, we should also congratulate the waitress who treated us with great patience and willingness, explaining everything we asked and seeking to make our experience perfect. Finally, we had a very good Moroccan coffee with chocolate. It is a place that goes unnoticed because it is hidden among the streets of this little town, but it is undoubtedly worth it even if it is just to have a coffee. 9/10 just because nothing can be perfect. Recommended.

19/05/2025: I came back here to let some friends try a pizza that I really liked. Unfortunately, the positive experience was not repeated. My pizza was very good, my friends' pizza a little less so. In fact, a wrong pizza arrived, missing the sausage, so we asked the waitress if it was possible to add it. The pizza was taken back, reluctantly, and returned to the table with the raw sausage. Unfortunately, it was not edible. I'm sorry because the other pizzas were good
