28/11/2023: Il locale si presta per l’arredamento più ad una pizzeria che ad un ristorante (si vede anche dalle tovagliette in carta). Oltre che per i modi e gli atteggiamenti dei camerieri e del proprietario, molto alla buona. Il cibo era buono, ma sconsiglio di prendere i fuori menù col tartufo. I piatti con questo compreso sono cari. Se si pensa che non viene fornito ne per iscritto, ne a voce un peso per la cifra che si va a spendere. Grattato ad occhio dal proprietario senza pesarlo, a suo gusto. Per me un quantitativo misero, soprattutto mettendolo a confronto con altri ristoranti alla pari della zona. Per concludere la cena abbiamo ordinato un semplice gelato al fior di latte. Dopo ben 17 minuti di orologio ad aspettarlo, abbiamo detto al cameriere di non volerlo più. Ce ne siamo andati col senso di essere stati FREGATI!

01/04/2024: Beautiful restaurant with incredible food and staff. I ate fish (to vary my carnivorous diet these days) and I must say that it was superb. Young and attentive staff; they were able to find the right wine to pair with meat and fish. Fantastic!

10/03/2024: Sono stata a cena con mio marito perché avevo letto tutte recensioni positive eppure mi rendo conto che si sono approfittati di noi, avevo fatto all’incirca due conti a mente e avremo speso sui 80€, abbiamo preso 3 antipasti, due primi e un secondo.. tutto davvero ottimo. Al momento del conto nel dettaglio dello scontrino trovo: 2 menu.. con un conto di 97€. Questa cosa per me è stata spiacevole. Bisogna sempre scrivere ciò che si prende, se non è così, bisogna dirlo al cliente.

24/03/2024: Restaurant in the center of Alba, recommended to us by some friends. Very, for my taste, too formal service. Excellent tagliolini with white truffle, also good are the tajerin with Bra sausage ragù. Vitello tonnato good but with some nerves (I don't expect that in a place like this). The only thing that totally ruined dinner was the dessert: chestnut cake with cream and persimmon sauce. Unfortunately, the persimmon sauce had evidently and indisputably gone bad, completely fermented, spoiled. I obviously pointed this out to the waiter who, after so much formality, simply apologized and took the dish away without even taking it off the bill. Too bad for the lack of style and the serious mistake in the kitchen.

22/03/2024: We (my wife and I) arrived in Alba after almost 11 hours on a train in September 2023. We got to our lodging tired and hungry. This place was right next door. They had just opened and we got a table and life for both us quickly got much better. We don’t speak Italian and they were very accommodating. The food was wonderful. We ate there several more times. We were going to go to France this year but decided to go back to Italy. We are staying at the place and look forward to eating there again. I can’t quit thinking about their Eggplant Parmigiana. I highly recommend this wonderful little place

26/03/2024: On the occasion of the reopening of the season, with the Fossano gathering, in the afternoon I had the pleasure of being able to sit at the Sarotto premises. I was pleasantly surprised by their cellar and the possibility of choice as well as quality. (To my personal taste, never) If you have the pleasure of sipping a good glass, framed by a beautiful square, this is definitely the place for you. Each drink is always accompanied by a small tasting of 4/5 pieces of tasting, for those who want more, cutting boards can be brought upon request. Being a wine bar, there is not a great variety of food, much less coffee and the like. In any case, the staff is very heterogeneous in age groups, but despite what you might think they are all very competent as well as polite and friendly. Some of us in the group ended up ordering a few cases of products. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend it.

01/04/2024: We found the restaurant by chance during our short stay in Alba and were pleasantly satisfied. The traditional tasting menu is highly recommended: excellent value for money. We were lucky enough to have dinner on the underground floor, a unique and evocative environment. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Price in line with what you eat and the context in which you find it. If we return to these parts we will definitely stop here again!

06/04/2024: Very pleasant environment, the host courteously offered us a nice table, even though everything was fully booked as usual and we were late. The dishes were all excellent, served very carefully, the portion sizes were just right, lovely scents. The wine from Aldo Conterno conca tre pile went excellently with all courses. The dessert, the cannolo siciliano in Piedmontese style, was very good and an exciting interpretation. It was our second visit and the quality was consistent. Thank you Mr. Catania, we will be back! . Recommendation: reserve in good time!!

04/04/2024: I had lunch following reviews but I was a little disappointed in the rustic setting the menu was hand written on greasy paper the staff were friendly The starter was good but poor the tajarin was poorly seasoned Castelmagno gnocchi the flavor was good but the gnocchi were overcooked the braised meat was a little fibrous the wine was excellent and the bitter sin of not having received the receipt, I will not return
