26/12/2025: It's a very beautiful and welcoming restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent, and the two people serving are attentive and kind. It's a shame the service was so slow! For a dinner where we ordered a tasting menu with an appetizer, first course, and second course, it took 3.5 hours. On average, one dish every hour, and a bit of it came out. So, if you want excellent food in a comfortable setting and aren't too hungry given the wait, this is definitely a place to recommend.

27/10/2025: While searching for a venue for our wedding, we were captivated by Il Groglio, both for its sheer beauty and attention to detail, and for the mastery of its wonderful hostess, Nicoletta. After an initial quote, we immediately received the right attention and guidance from Nicoletta, who immediately won us over and clarified our few, confusing ideas with her professionalism and experience. The venue immediately offered us multiple options for an indoor or outdoor reception, a more dynamic or elegant setting, and adaptable to any weather (which was no mean feat for us, given that we were getting married at the end of October). We received countless compliments on the dinner menu, the aperitif, and the wine selection, as well as on the enchanting location. We are extremely satisfied! Nicoletta was able to captivate us with her attentiveness and accommodate our requests! Highly recommended!

15/09/2025: A wonderful restaurant with full of local clients. Not too big and not too small dining area and there were some big groups. The cuisine was absolutely traditional and very tasty. Reasonable prices. It’s located in the middle of vineyards and there is a wonderful country side view from the dinning area. All staff, young girls were extremely kind and smiley. I highly recommend this restaurant during your Langhe stay. The reservation is necessary. Big parking space. Very clean restaurant. Unfortunately big groups become very loud with some wine….

02/02/2026: A good experience Simple place, entrance hall, huge dining room at -1. Food and pizza, on this occasion a Sardinian pizza with porcini mushrooms; the mushrooms were less noticeable than the pecorino. The medium red beer was decent. Medium-low prices. Recommended.

28/05/2026: Good pizza Good treatment up to the checkout. At the checkout, the price for each diner was €18. For those who paid with a traceable debit card, the price was €20. All this was done without the knowledge of those who paid with their debit card. Truly dishonest behavior.

02/05/2026: We returned yesterday for lunch to celebrate their 47th anniversary. As always, they are excellent in their service, courtesy, and, of course, their fabulous menu. Aperitif, a succession of appetizers, two first courses, and fabulous second courses. All very often accompanied by the mushrooms featured in many courses. Desserts, digestifs, and coffee, all for €80. Excellent value, as always. They're also always very kind in asking if you'd like a second helping. Il Vallata certainly remains the best. 02/05/2026: I recently dined at Al Castagneto for May Day, and I must say it was a truly positive experience. The restaurant offers a fixed menu on holidays, which I find absolutely appropriate and well-organized, especially given the attendance. The lunch was plentiful and varied: eight appetizers, two first courses, meat-based main courses with side dishes, desserts (with the option of second helpings), coffee, and even complimentary digestifs. Everything was served promptly and with great courtesy from the staff, who were always attentive and helpful. The value for money was more than fair, considering the quantity and quality of the dishes. I personally left satisfied with both the food and the family atmosphere. I was there with my pregnant wife, and despite the super-extensive fixed menu, they created some special alternatives for her! Truly excellent!

26/05/2026: Impeccable service and very friendly staff, but the food was a real disappointment. For a pizzeria in Italy, we expected local produce and authentic flavors… in the end, the pizzas were ordinary and there were no real surprises on the plate. A shame, especially in a country where even a small trattoria can sometimes work wonders 🍕

12/04/2025: This restaurant was a godsend for us: delicious food at fair prices and very friendly staff. The meat-filled agnolotti was accompanied by a full-bodied Dolcetto Dogliani from Poderi Luigi Einaudi. And then there was the wine selection... heavenly!

When I come into town every now and then, like this morning, I love stopping for lunch. Plus, it's open on Mondays, when everything in Ceva is closed!!! So another plus! Congratulations ❤️
