19/08/2026: We had the black risotto and the cannelloni. Unfortunately, both were very dry and almost unseasoned. The service was very friendly, though, and the seating was pleasant. We wouldn't come back again.

26/08/2026: Such a hidden gem. From the moment we walked into the eclectic atmosphere, we knew we were in for something special. The constantly rotating menu keeps things interesting, and the food was absolutely incredible. The manager, Jacob, was a standout—multilingual, incredibly accommodating, genuinely conversational, and an all-around great host. He made an already wonderful experience that much better. For us, everything came together perfectly: the atmosphere, the food, the service, and the sense that there’s always something new to discover. We’ll absolutely be returning.

04/06/2026: Went to the Mandarin Oriental for dinner for my Mum’s 80th birthday and, despite the thunderstorms and torrential rain, we had a really lovely time. The staff were brilliant and helped us get from the top of the road down to the hotel in the caddy, which made a big difference and kept my Mum dry. The food was excellent, the service was very good and the decor and ambience were exceptional. It would be lovely to go back on a sunny day and enjoy it properly without the downpour, but even with the weather my Mum really enjoyed it. A special dinner and a very memorable place for her 80th.

24/05/2026: You arrive on the lakefront of Lake Lugano on the Italian side and can be reached from Como or Switzerland. I recommend going through the Ponte Tresa customs checkpoint from Italy (set your GPS for Ponte Tresa and then for Crotto to avoid a detour). If you're arriving from Switzerland, you'll arrive before Porlezza; from Italy, after Porlezza and the tunnel. The restaurant has two internal parking spaces, going down a short private road towards the lake and also above the road. The lake view from a seat is priceless, and the food is divine. Perch ravioli number one, pike number two, but everything was delicious, even the pistachio cream. Boat access is also available! With a private dock, divine desserts made by Pasticceria Italia in Porlezza. (go here too) We will DEFINITELY be back.

16/08/2026: Average restaurant behind Duomo. Osso Bucco was generously portioned but average. Carbonate was craggy and heavy and the parmigiana cheese was bitter. Service was good and friendly, but wouldn't recommend.

26/08/2026: Chiara was very kind. I gave her very precise instructions for the cake, both aesthetically and in terms of flavor, and she was able to make it perfectly. The cake and service were top notch.
