12/07/2026: we went here to celebrate my birthday since it was recommended by a friend. It really wasn’t good, we order three dishes only one dish was ok, the other two weren’t special or good and the pasta we order for the end we left it because it was just like grocery store food. The staff was very nice and accommodating, the view from the windows was fantastic, but it called my attention that when we paid they didn’t even asked why we didn’t eat the pasta. I don’t want to harm the business, maybe it was not a good day at the kitchen, but they definitely need to improve.

15/07/2026: A good place with fresh fish. I don't eat in often, but I do takeout and they offer a 10% discount. Nothing to complain about. The place is a little dark for my taste, but quality is what matters.

14/06/2026: Of everyone restaurant I’ve been to across the world, by far my favorite. The hosts and family that run the restaurant make you feel just like home, as though you are a guest in their house. They make sure to inform you about all of their options, and make sure you’re extremely comfortable at a very personalized level. The food was amazing, with all three courses having tastes so rich and fresh. A perfect, non-touristy representation of all of their great things of Italy. Federice (apologies if the name is spelt wrong) is one of the kindest and warm people I’ve met, and made the experience 100 times better! The view is absolutely breathtaking out of the massive windows. Couldn’t recommend more!

11/08/2026: A very pleasant restaurant run by a Polish woman from Opole who has been running the business for 20 years. There was another Polish waitress. Both ladies were very nice, and so were the guys. The pizzas are thin-crust and very good, especially my T.N.T. pizza (it was a homemade pizza). I recommend it; so far, it was the best pizza I've had in Italy. The Hugo drink was also good. The grilled steak a la midrare was done to perfection and very tasty. You can add salt, pepper, chili, olive oil, and Sriracha to whatever you like and season the dish to your liking. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures because I was very hungry and started eating right away :) I recommend stopping by and trying it for yourself :)

06/06/2026: RetroGusto is a guarantee. Since I discovered it, I've been bringing several people there, and we always leave satisfied. The meat on the salt griddle is always excellent, and a quick chat with the chef shows how much he cares about the quality of the products he offers his customers. The wine selection is also very refined, and it's a pleasure to let the owner's expertise guide you. The atmosphere is quiet and refined. One of my favorite restaurants in the area.

17/08/2026: Amalfi restaurant with welcoming, friendly staff and excellent seafood dishes, highly recommended! The presentation is also very thoughtful, and the prices are excellent for the quality of the ingredients. We recommend expanding the wine list!

16/08/2026: Whether you love the lake or not, this little place is absolutely worth a try. Nestled in a beautiful corner, this shop has a distinct Italian feel despite its international clientele. Quick dishes and good drinks. The shop is worth a visit, and if you spot Luciano sitting in his chair, the atmosphere is complete. Beautiful.

08/06/2026: Villa d’Este remains one of the great hotels of Europe, and the level of service is as polished and professional as ever. The gardens are immaculate, the setting on Lake Como is timeless, and the staff continue to deliver the kind of hospitality that made the property legendary. What has changed, at least from my perspective, is the atmosphere. I cannot help feeling that the experience is slowly drifting away from quiet, understated luxury and moving a little closer to a stage performance. There is more spectacle, more social media energy, and at times it feels as though some guests are visiting to be seen rather than simply to enjoy one of the world’s great hotels. Nothing about the quality has diminished. If anything, Villa d’Este still executes at an extraordinarily high level. I simply miss the slightly more discreet and effortless elegance that once defined the place for me. Perhaps this is the natural evolution of luxury hospitality in the age of Instagram. But for those who appreciate slow luxury, privacy, and the feeling that true refinement never needs to announce itself, there may be a quiet sense of nostalgia.

04/07/2026: It's certainly one of Como's most innovative venues, and this is confirmed by the number of visitors. The atmosphere is in keeping with the restaurant's style; perhaps a little noisy due to the materials used. The menu is varied, fun, well-illustrated, and well-prepared. Good wine list. Service isn't always perfect, but that's partly due to the high occupancy. Prices are in line. We've been back several times, and it's always excellent, and the quality and service are consistently consistent.
