14/07/2024: Il ristorante è molto carino, personale molto disponibile e cordiale. Abbiamo preso come antipasto la pizza fritta, e per secondo il maialino con verdure in carpione e la manzetta abbronzata. Tutto davvero molto buono! I dolci strepitosi (il Gigante che dorme e la Valsolda in un morso). Consigliatissimo!

19/08/2024: Eating with a beautiful view of Lake Como and the mountains. We were staying nearby and drove past la Trave upon arrival. The food is of good quality, delicious. The staff speaks English, also a plus. About the food itself: we chose the fish as antipasti. That was delicious. It might be an idea to offer a fish platter with different types of fish from Lake Como to give it a local touch. (that's what we hoped for) Then as a primi piatti the walnut ravioli (ravioli con salsa di noci) and the homemade gnochetti. Top dishes. As a secondi the beef with mushroom and the brasato con polenta. For dessert the tiramisu and the panna cotta. Top quality desserts What was a shame is that we always had to actively ask for a new drink. We walked in ourselves for both the drink with the main course and the starter. We wanted to eat with a full glass instead of an empty glass. In addition, the plastic tables are not pleasant to sit at, you can hardly fit your legs.

16/08/2024: Had lunch on mid-August 2024. The quality of the products is excellent and plentiful. The staff are helpful and kind. Location and pleasant climate...the only flaw is finding the parking...but we will definitely return!!

16/08/2024: Excellent place, we had a table for two without reservation. Inside unfortunately but very beautiful setting. Impeccable, attentive and fast service. The dishes are traditional and very good... top marks for the candied chestnut dessert and the wild boar spaghetti yum! ...

23/07/2024: If you are looking for Italian style pizza, you will be disappointed. It is the pizza version of Turkish pita. The quality of the ingredients is not very high either. The menu is very diverse. I think it would be better to choose pasta instead of pizza. The prices are very economical. I think it is not as good as the comments.

08/08/2024: Every time I go to Materia I'm happy. Well yes: I love eating and having a restaurant so close to home fills me with joy, especially for business lunches, which are not very "demanding" where with an absolutely reasonable amount you can afford to have lunch in a starred restaurant. The new location is particularly intriguing and inviting and today, for the first time thanks to the school holidays, I brought my little girl who I am trying to accustom more and more to the journeys of taste. Today the menu offered risotto with green bean and tarragon cream, pasta ditalini with venison ragout, chicken leg on a bed of polenta and mussel and cherry tomato stew. The marrow and saffron are inevitable. My daughter was also very satisfied with the menu where, however, the flavors offered can be difficult for the little ones. 16/07/2024: It was an excellent value for the experience. Service was excellent. We went with the chef choice 5 course. Myself I had the full course. Not every dish was to my flavor palette but they were all creative and delicious. I did the saffron risotto and the bite sized introductory course because they were designed to be consumed linearly.

16/08/2024: The risotto with perch is excellent! The other dishes were also very good but in my opinion a little too greasy. But that's personal taste! It's not on the lake but a stone's throw away. Recommended for a relaxing lunch.

20/08/2024: Visited this lovely restaurant through a recommendation of our apartment host. And we were so glad we went! Had the lasagne which was so good we went back for it the second day! Amazing selection of wines also and very knowledgeable staff. Service was amazing also. Thanks for the 2 lovely dinners, and we will be back if we are ever at the lake again!

07/08/2024: Great place for some food and great wine! The place has an enoteca upstairs so it has a large selection of wines, which accompany the great food! We had the cold cuts platter with cheeses which was really good, and continued with some squid ink pasta and lemon fish pasta. The waiters were super nice, friendly and helpful, so highly recommend the place! Also note that although the place opens at 6PM, they start serving food at 7PM, which is similar to most places in the area.

13/08/2024: Very nice location, relaxing away from the hustle and bustle and the furnace, very good lunch and dinner, typical and generous dishes. You will just need to equip the rooms with blackout curtains and ceiling fans, for example, because it gets a little hot at night.

09/07/2024: Dinner organized for logistical convenience.. we hadn't been there for 30 years.. and I think that if Scampo another thirty will pass.. but not Scampo that long..... nothing memorable for a second... a dessert 🍰 a bottle of wine for four... €50 each... It's a place for rich people... plus the fully loaded room is noisy... it looks like Sora Lella's trattoria...

03/08/2024: Nice bar and friendly gentleman. The dog was also welcome and given water. Delicious fresh gravy and focaccia!!

11/07/2024: Delicious sandwiches made to order choosing your own ingredients, coffee and drinks were great also. There is nice background music and the owner is lovely. Freshly squeezed orange juice is just what we needed on a hot day! Great place to stop at if you are visiting Villa Carlotta or staying in the area.
