19/09/2025: Wonderful tasting menu with vegetarian options. Everything was truly delicious and beautifully presented. I can't say which course I liked best because everything was wow, and that's certainly not a given, on the contrary... Excellent bread making and expert display of truly excellent ingredients. Very fair price. I can only give you 5 stars, well deserved. Congratulations!
18/09/2025: Opened in 1927 by the Beltramelli family, who ensured its success for decades, making it a place of social gathering, the Trattoria delle Miniere in Lenna, a secluded village in the heart of the Bergamo Brembana Valley, has undergone a transformation since 2020. Little in form, much in substance. After several formative experiences that allowed him to acquire techniques and awareness, the young Lorenzo Bonini returned to his hometown and took over the historic trattoria, with clear ideas about what his cuisine would be, which unequivocally revolves around one key expression: territory. Yes, because it is the Brembana Valley, with its products—the fruit of typically mountain agriculture and farming methods—that Lorenzo wants to promote. The connection with the territory and its products also signifies the memory of traditional cuisine. A memory that Lorenzo Bonini wishes to embrace, through the techniques he has acquired, to propose a contemporary cuisine. The menu, always subject to change based on product availability, perfectly represents Lorenzo's vision of cuisine, which always features references to tradition, but updated and reinterpreted with a personal touch. Thus, on the late May menu, we find Taleggio cocotte (a typical cheese named after the nearby valley of the same name, where it is produced), "Le selvagge" melted egg (named after the company that produces them in Nembro, not far from the restaurant, from Livorno chickens raised free-range in the woods), Catalogna and wild herbs; "Panada," a reinterpretation of the local bread soup (served warm) with thyme-infused tomato cubes, breadcrumbs and crumble, and trout roe; The traditional casoncelli (made with water and flour and stuffed with roast beef and sausage), from which Lorenzo has removed the "weight" (in the traditional recipe) of the pancetta and added, at the customer's discretion, a dash of cinnamon flavoring, fortunately without removing the melted mountain butter. Next up are the green gnocchi with Agrì (a Slow Food Presidium cheese, made from cow's or goat's milk, produced by the Latteria Sociale of nearby Valtorta) and dandelion, flavored with wild garlic; the local goat roulade (roulade) with its rosemary sauce and sautéed seasonal vegetables; and the braised pork cheek, fresh mustard, and whipped potato puree. The dessert menu also confirms the close attention to the local gastronomic culture. Here, we find the delicious puff pastry cuffin (a type of muffin/brioche), served warm, to be dunked in Moscato di Scanzo rösömada (a zabaglione) (another local delicacy), and Leadél (local dialect for "yeast"), a successful reinterpretation of Lenna's traditional holiday cake. Lunch or dinner begins with delicious amuse-bouche where the fragrance of bread, focaccia, and polenta sheets (made from local cornmeal)—all homemade—are enhanced by the deliciousness of mountain butter, and concludes with a pre-dessert. Even coffee (of remarkable quality) is served accompanied by small homemade friandises. Two affordable tasting menus are available, with 4 or 6 courses, at 45 and 55 euros, respectively. For consistency (and, in this case, courage), the wine list also features exclusively local wineries. This is a choice we appreciate and share. The service is familiar (literally), professional, and places the customer in the best position to fully experience this compelling gastronomic experience. The restaurant, renovated and beautifully furnished in the same space as the historic trattoria, is modern, spacious, and bright. There are just a few (round) tables, well-spaced. The old bar counter at the entrance has been thoughtfully preserved. The outdoor area could be better enhanced. Perhaps in the near future.

07/09/2025: Entering this restaurant means embarking on a modern and sophisticated sensory journey in a historic and authentic setting. This is a historic establishment with roots dating back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries. We opted for the "Water and Air" tasting menu for lunch. All the dishes met our expectations. The staff was attentive and friendly. Treat yourself and make a reservation; places like this are rare.

The wine list was very select. The dessert was amazing. Typically Italian but completely different...the view of Lake Como was breathtaking from so high up. Highly recommended.

06/10/2025: We got married on September 3rd at Villa Restaurant La Palma in Palazzago, and we can only say... thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Everything was simply perfect, in every way. The location is wonderful, with a well-kept and welcoming garden where we were able to begin the celebrations with an outdoor aperitif: seating for everyone and a sumptuous buffet that won over all our guests right from the start. Inside, the room is elegant and the service impeccable. We enjoyed two excellent first courses and a second course, followed by a perfect wedding cake and a dreamy dessert buffet. The food was extraordinary: by far the best we've ever had at a reception! The quality, attention to detail, and passion for cooking are clearly evident. It's a family-run restaurant, and this shows in every detail: from the kindness of the staff, always available and smiling, to the impeccable organization of the entire event. We felt truly pampered and supported at every stage, from the preparation to the last minute of our big day. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable wedding, in a place where passion, professionalism, and quality come together perfectly. Thanks again to Alessandro and the entire staff at Villa La Palma!

28/09/2025: I've gotten takeout pizza twice, and both times, upon arrival, I noticed they'd gotten the order wrong. The first time, they added mozzarella when asked to remove it, and on another occasion, they didn't add it when no changes were requested. The change had been requested for someone with lactose intolerance. Luckily, we had no problem swapping the two pizzas, as there were no other intolerances. However, the second time, the mozzarella wasn't removed from a pizza when requested. This time, the request wasn't for intolerance, but for a diet, even though the pizzeria had noted the change. Despite this, the pizza is still very good. However, if you're ordering takeout, please check that the order is correct. I hope this helps both the people who order and the pizzeria to be a little more careful.
06/08/2025: Looking for a place to grab a pizza before a show, we came across this pizzeria, which is mainly a takeout spot. The small place allows you to eat in, but seating is limited. Anyway, they served us an excellent pizza with quality ingredients, all clearly displayed in the pizza maker's display case, and a dough that I had no trouble digesting (which isn't always a given). Maybe not for a pizza night, but for takeout, absolutely recommended.

05/10/2025: We went for dinner on October 4, 2025. We entered a beautiful, well-maintained space and were immediately greeted by the staff who took us to our table. We began our experience with the welcome appetizer shortly after sitting down. We ordered salt and edamame tacos. Shaomai Spicy Thai (Steamed dumplings with shrimp and tay spices) Gunkan foie gras salmon Gunkan salmon ikura Hamayaki vegetables And two other rolls that I don't remember the name of, but they were very good. A bottle of Patriarchè rosé (French). A dessert and a hot salt. All very good, as was the service. Price in line with the offerings. (The only complaint, in my opinion, is the markup on wines that's a bit too high.) Overall, a positive experience.

08/10/2025: They welcomed us with a table for eight at the last minute on a Sunday, when we were looking for a quick stop on the way home, and they adapted some dishes to make me a vegan version. The chestnut flour pasta with mushrooms was delicious. But everyone else said all the dishes were excellent. Excellent service and a very pleasant place. The prices may not be cheap, but it's still worth a visit.

16/09/2025: We were in Griante for a couple of days and noticed this lovely little restaurant, lots of locals having their morning coffees and local honest food on offer. We ended up eating there on both nights.. The pasta dishes were absolutely delicious and authentic, the saffron and prawn spaghetti was truly outstanding. The salad and cake were just as tasty. On the last night, I decided to have pizza, the bufalina. At first sight, I was a bit disappointed. No trendy cornicione, not even a bit of dry oregano... The pizza just had tomato sauce and the mozzarella had been put on after it came out of the oven... Let me tell you, that was one of the best pizzas I have ever had ( I am Italian, I have had quite a few...). It was light and fresh, both the tomato and mozzarella flavour uncomplicated by any herbs, spices or fancy cheese.. It was sublime, I could have eaten two! In the morning we had coffee by the lake which was so pleasant. The service was also incredibly friendly, we were made to feel very welcome and the waitresses remembered our preferred drinks etc. I wish I could remember their names, but I would like to thank them again for making our dinners so special
14/09/2025: Superb welcome from the staff. Seated on the terrace overlooking Lake Como and the fireworks on the other side of the lake. A very pleasant time spent with family. Generous and very tasty dishes and desserts.
