21/04/2025: Of the five trips I’ve taken to Italy, this was easily the most disappointing dining experience—and that disappointment came almost entirely from the service, which was unexpectedly poor for a restaurant at this caliber. I’ve visited Rome several times and had looked forward to dining here for years. It’s always booked, so this time I made a reservation several weeks in advance and requested a table outside. That request wasn’t acknowledged or honored—not a dealbreaker. We were seated indoors at a long rectangular table meant for six, which felt awkward for our group of five. I asked politely if we could switch to a nearby round table that remained empty the entire evening, but the waitress shut it down immediately with a curt “impossible.” No explanation, no flexibility, just a dismissive tone. Note that that table alongside with several round tables remained empty during our entire stay. Unfortunately, that attitude carried through the entire meal. The staff, both the male waiter and female waitresses who took care of us felt rushed, uninterested, and rude. When we asked for wine suggestions or inquired about the menu, the responses were dismissive and came with a noticeable air of impatience. The food arrived with both the primi and secondi courses served at the same time, something I have never experienced in Italy and which completely disrupted the flow of the meal and experience. Worse still, no one at the table had plates or silverware when the dishes were brought out, and we had to ask for them while our food sat getting cold. The plates were set down with an almost careless energy—fast, rough, and without any sense of attention to detail. Most of the food was decent—nothing that stood out, but competently prepared. That said, one dish in particular was a letdown: the lamb was overwhelmingly fatty with hardly any actual meat to enjoy (note this dish was over 40 euro, so really subpar for what you are paying for). In the end, this meal didn’t come close to the standard I’d expected. The experience lacked the warmth, attentiveness, and care that are usually part of dining out in Italy—especially in Rome, where so many other restaurants manage to offer fantastic food with genuinely welcoming service. I really wanted this to be a highlight of the trip, but instead, it left me disappointed.

04/03/2025: E’ la nostra pausa pranzo preferita, ci sentiamo a casa , nei loro prodotti si sente la cura con cui scelgono le materie prime e l’amore nella preparazione , tutto è genuino e facilmente digeribile. Brave le proprietarie gentili e cortesi .Consigliato sicuramente!!

26/04/2025: I took a plate of baked lamb with potatoes: I've never eaten so bad. Cold, with the addition of a lukewarm, terrible soupy sauce. Thus a traditional Roman dish during the Easter period becomes a nightmare.

11/04/2025: Absolutely wonderful and very busy and local. I probably needed a reservation but as 1 person they found a table for me. I don’t speak Italian but I saw eggplant parmigiana. With a sparkling water, bread, eggplant and cappuccino, it was one the most delicious things I’ve eaten. It was only compounded by the busy, noisy atmosphere of mid-day Rome. I hope to return!

16/04/2025: Quite a disappointing experience. I was hoping to relax and unwind listening to the music but being squashed at a small table side by side and the asked by waiter/manager to sit even closer together cause the waiters can't move. Perhaps getting less tables and more sofas with low tables would be a solution. I tried to fool myself that the food was good because of the total cost but... It was really average. The music was good, although started with over 40 minutes delay and it didn't feel relaxing as we couldn't talk and felt that it was some kind of concert. I get, you're there to experience the music but still if it's a restaurant it shouldn't overpower it

06/04/2025: The jazz performances were excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive; however, the food and drinks were expensive. Ultimately, we enjoyed ourselves and would recommend the venue to anyone looking to splash out on an extravagant treat.

26/03/2025: We didn't know the area and we came across this little place with a small open kitchen, what can I say, the girl who welcomed us was very kind. Sea bream in a potato crust and tiramisu... how delicious!! (The tiramisu enters my top 3 of the best I've ever eaten, the cream was nice and eggy and sweet at the right point). ✨

13/04/2025: If you are a meat lover, Dupon Meat House is a must. They specialize in the highest quality meat and prepare perfectly cooked steaks and burgers that will literally make you drool. Among the specialties not to be missed, I recommend the amazing bombette (minced beef and cheddar meatballs wrapped in bacon), the Special Dupon (sandwich with hamburger, lettuce, tomato, crispy bacon, cheddar, caramelized onion, fried egg and Dupon sauce) and, to end on a sweet note, a delicious Oreo cheesecake, which will leave you speechless. The staff is very kind and always available, ready to advise on the menu, really well stocked. You will find both conventional labels and fine bottles, such as the renowned Sassicaia di Bolgheri, perfect for accompanying an important dinner together with true connoisseurs of good wine. An experience to repeat!

11/04/2025: I'm sorry to be against the grain given the excellent reviews. It certainly must have been a bad evening. I have come to this restaurant several times in the last 3 years, both with family and friends and I must say that for me it was a point of reference for good food and good meat. Unfortunately, a few nights ago something went wrong. I always start with their “Fat bomb”. Unfortunately this time it was very dry. The meat was loose, dry and there was no cheese inside. Furthermore, the accompanying sauce which moistened the meat was very little and therefore difficult to swallow. In fact, both my daughter and I left a good part of it on our plates. We got 2 sandwiches. In mine, (the one smoked with apple wood), one of the 2 burgers was not very fresh. And I say this regretfully, but with awareness of the facts, given that I have been working in the kitchen for 40 years and I know the raw materials very well. And also the side chicory, I don't know if it was spoiled or not preserved well, but it had a "not exactly fresh" taste to say the least. The waiter was kind and took it off the bill, but here comes the other sore point, the service. We had to highlight the fact that we didn't eat the chicory and the reason, because the waiter cleared the table with indifference and without asking anything. When almost all the dishes are left over, there is some reason and the minimum on the part of the staff is to try to understand the reason. Furthermore, as pointed out by other reviewers, the prices are slightly above the norm and therefore it is a bit frustrating to go out without having eaten and having paid a good amount. Furthermore, unlike the other times, the service was distracted and absent and there was not the usual atmosphere as always with waiters present and ready dialogues or explanations/clarifications regarding the dishes. Even though the restaurant had few tables to serve. Last but not least, my family and I spent the night in the toilet, thinking about the Dupon Meat House. I'm sorry, because they are good guys. As mentioned above; it was a bad evening.

23/02/2025: Family and absolutely non-formal environment. The rooms are very well kept and clean, as are the toilets, which were always in order despite the presence of many people. The pizza is good, which from my point of view is really too thin, but the grilled meat is also very well remembered!!! Since the place is a bit hidden, the road signs could be improved a lot! Excellent quality/price ratio. Advised.

19/03/2025: This was our first gelato in Italy and it exceeded our expectations! I ordered the lemon and my husband had the pistachio. The lemon was unlike anything I've ever had before. Really flavourful and refreshing. The pistachio was equally delicious. There were two younger women working in the store and they made me feel comfortable enough to order fully in Italian. They were so kind, patient and helpful. Made the experience even better!

03/04/2025: Prices too touristy, those who work in the area are unlikely to return. So I push you to reflect on this, in short, you screw the tourist once and then you never see them again, but the same goes for those who could be your regular customers. In short, once you make me pay 10 euros for two pastas you will definitely never see me again! In my opinion, with this policy, not only are you losing a lot of money, as well as gradually making yourselves scorched earth, but you are also forced to throw away most of your products since they remain unsold... hoping that you don't pass them on to customers anyway.

28/03/2025: I bought raw milk bags that day, and I picked up a raw milk bag that was different from the others. I told the boss that it was different, but the boss said they were all the same and wouldn’t let me choose! ! !

06/04/2025: Restaurant serving typical Roman cuisine, always abundant dishes and with fresh, excellent quality ingredients. Wide choice of wines, excellent customer service. All in a clean environment, I recommend it for dinner, so that you can enjoy the excellent food refreshed by the famous Roman Ponente. At sunset the intense red colors of the Roman sky will be the setting for an unforgettable evening. Roberto Da Costa
