Had a delicious meal. On the sunny terrace ☀️
The dishes were truly delicious (we had a Carbonara tasting platter, as well as various types of tiramisu). The owners come across as very sweet people who really pay attention to the food. I will definitely be coming back!

So! You're planning a visit to Rome, and you're going to spend the day tromping around the Forum and the Colosseum (where there isn't any food except vending machines) and you want a place to go afterwards. Why not treat yourself to an experience that will be one of the most memorable of your visit? Why not have the incredibly well priced Carbonara tasting menu? Don't tell the owners, but they really should raise the price for what you get, it even includes a wine pairing!
The website does not do the tasting menu justice, it's not just your regular tasting. The owner and his wife (so very kind to us, they even spoke English because our Italian is limited to pointing and saying grazie) literally hung out at our table like we were in Grandma's kitchen. We got to learn to taste olive oil and balsamic vinegar, there were odor bottles to help you identify the flavors in the oil and that was the best prosecco we've had in our lives. And that's not even a course! It's just the start! Pace yourself and dont go crazy on the homemade bread, even though that's some delicious olive oil and the balsamic was this incredible, viscous, flavorful thing that just isn't what we thought basalmic was....try to leave room because it's never ending. Then there's two cheeses to try and then try with the basalmic (even better, wow!). Then there's mozzarella with anchovy (try it. We don't like anchovies and like everything else in this meal, it turns out we like good anchovies) hint and basalmic. Then this lovely eggplant appetizer (that's right, only now are we actually in the meal!) and we don't like eggplant so it was a surprise to like this. Then the first carbonara with pistachios, then truffled ravioli then another carbonara! I can't even express to you how good these dishes were. You can taste the quality ingredients and the home madeness.
Someone else has dissed the tiramisu...perhaps it's different with the tasting menu, but you got to make your own! And since I don't do coffee, they kindly brought limoncello instead for me. So you could control exactly how much coffee (lemon!) flavor you got. And it was delicious! (Coffee deliciousness confirmed by husband who likes it.)
What an amazing night to remember!
You know when you see people on tv shows visiting Italy and they stumble on this amazing secret place and everything is so good and the owners are great and it really makes the trip? This is that place. Go for it!

In Roma was easily the most memorable food experience we had while visiting a couple of Novembers ago. Definitely recommend! We were probably one of the last few people here of the evening before they closed for the day, so there was plenty of seating.
My husband ordered the classic Carbonara while I ordered the Spaghetti with Swordfish and Pinenuts. We also ordered some wines with our dishes and a tiramisu for dessert. Though I liked my meal, I definitely wished I had ordered the carbonara, but maybe next time haha. Anyway, what made In Roma stand out was the service by the owners. They were SO sweet. We were here our first night in Rome, so we went from feeling like these wandering, hungry tourists, to feeling like we were a part of the family— the most warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Definitely make this a stop while in Rome!
The staff were very friendly, and the classic carbonara was very good.

A restaurant in the city center, generally too touristy. We came in at 1:00 PM, lunchtime, asked for bread and were told they didn't have fresh bread but could give us yesterday's. We ordered artichokes and were told they didn't have any. Overall, the pasta was good, but it arrived a little cold. The appetizer portions were a bit small, but the chicory was good. The staff was friendly. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

7 euros per person to sit on a terrace? Very touristy and dissapointed in this extra cost. I understand an extra coperto/servizio but this was an expensive and unpleasent ending of a simple lunch.

The food was delicious, the staff were incredibly attentive, and the place was peaceful. I'll definitely be back. A woman from Rome recommended it, and I can only say it was spectacular. It's a bit more expensive than other restaurants in the city center, but it's worth it for the service and the quality of the food.
