17/03/2026: The person on the front desk was so mean he had so many places inside but still he said us to stand on the back in the hall and then when we went to ask him after seeing so many empty spaces he just said that he didn’t realise and he gave it to other people in front of us (who didn’t have any prior reservations because they also asked for any table in front of us )which I found was kind of based on Italian and non Italians because my friend and me we saw the same thing happening to other people who seemed American so I don’t know if that’s the reason but he gave place to all Italians in front of us which I felt was a bit racist so I won’t recommend this place at all

17/03/2026: Edit after business reply: Apologies as I think I used the wrong terminology this night after very blatantly being mistreated along with seeing several American customers being turned away. I recognize your employees are of different origins and that’s great, but it does not mean they cannot individually misbehave in xenophobic manners (I think xenophobic is more correct than r@cist so I have corrected myself). In the moment it felt race was the only visible difference I could find between my party and the 3 parties of the same size/no reservation that were prioritized after us. I understand an establishment wanting to curate a certain crowd and environment, and maybe the intention IS for it to be mostly Italians. However, Joshua himself is sadly NOT international-friendly. To accuse and threaten a customer is disappointingly horrible service. The (unnamed) owner’s response deflects accountability and is concerning because it dismisses what was a very real and uncomfortable experience for us. Trust me, I nor anyone I shared this experience with will give a single penny to this place. Original review: First xenophobic experience I’ve had since living in Rome unfortunately. I had heard good things about this place and came with a girl friend (also not white-passing). We were told there was only standing room in the living room so we went to check it out. On the way in we saw a 2-seated table so we turned around to ask the host if we could sit there. We came outside to see him telling 2 white Italian women that they could sit at that table. I asked him why we couldn’t sit there and he said “sorry all occupied now”. Then a group of 4 Italian women came in and he CREATED a seating arrangement for them at the piano right after telling me to my face there is no room. We saw him turn away Americans while we were standing outside looking for a different bar. AVOID if you are tourists or non-white as their staff clearly don’t want our business. Go to a classier more inclusive establishment elsewhere, like Drink Kong. Joshua (picture attached) is the xenophobic host to avoid

12/03/2026: An absolutely enchanting location near the walls of Ostia Antica, romantic and welcoming. I've lived in Casal Palocco for 55 years and was unfamiliar with this extraordinary restaurant. It offers the freshest seafood, with a fantastic owner who welcomed us with open arms and a smile, recommending exceptional seafood dishes. I discovered flavors I'd never tried before: sea bass ravioli, sea asparagus (salicornia), cuttlefish with peas, and spaghetti with clams and cockles. I can't say enough about this incredible place; suffice it to say that by dining here, you'll find yourself walking in the footsteps of Totò, the Dalai Lama, Mitterrand, and Jacqueline Kennedy.

03/03/2026: Excellent restaurant in the center of Ostia Antica, perfect for business meetings and family gatherings...very fresh fish...attentive and helpful staff... The traditional Roman recipes are delicious.

03/04/2026: I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed by this restaurant, which was highly recommended by friends and relatives: what was hot was cold (the mussels), in the mixed fried fish some fish were only cooked on the outside and not on the inside (and I also saw things that shouldn't be there anymore, like the innards), the desserts had obviously been prepared (I hope, since it was Saturday evening) in the morning and not stored properly, they had lost their crunchiness and out of 4 tastings only one was good, we went on the safe side after a disappointing appetizer with spaghetti with clams, the flavor was quite good but very pale spaghetti, almost overcooked, made me doubt whether the pasta was the cheap kind, and given that I paid €120 for two people I don't feel like recommending it. Furthermore, the waiting staff was a whirlwind around the tables, very often without completing any task, empty-handed, with questioning looks and an air of anxiety that I can only explain with the fact that they knew that things weren't going well. Many of the seafood dishes and ingredients were frozen, which made me question friends and family. You go to the beach to eat fresh, local food, not frozen. I'd even see that overly fanciful menu with 'nduja and shrimp, or gorgonzola, for God's sake. It's not to anyone's taste. That said, never again, not even if they offered it to me. I'm sorry.

15/03/2026: Hi, we went for lunch today. I went to the old Bacchus many years ago, we had a great time, I especially remembered the appetizer with its many fresh fish dishes. Nothing remains of those beautiful memories. The place is much larger and even nicer. We had two appetizers and a first course, 0.55 ml of wine, water, and a tiramisu. Instead of two appetizers, they brought one—I repeat, one at a time—small pebble of mashed potatoes, three tiny potato meatballs, then a few pieces of fish in the sauce, mussels that tasted like nothing, and two small shrimp samples. I didn't count how many appetizers there were, but I don't think there were ten as stated on the menu. It's a disgrace, each appetizer costs €30. So €60 for mashed potatoes???? Where's the fish????? Never again

01/03/2026: The cuisine is magnificent, both in flavor and presentation. It offers views of the pool, the Vela, and the surrounding area. In winter, you can enjoy the view from the closed windows, which are open in summer. The staff is friendly and elegant.

09/03/2026: Yesterday we went for dinner after a lovely and busy day exploring the city, and we were welcomed warmly. The owner recommended a typical Roman dish to share (we had no idea what it was) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was buffalo burrata with meat. Then we each ordered pasta, and for dessert, we had the homemade tiramisu they make there. We left very happy! We were so glad to have met them and enjoyed the place.

01/04/2026: I came to Osteria Fratelli Mori with fairly high expectations... and I must say that, overall, they were met, albeit with a few nuances worth mentioning. As soon as I entered, I immediately got the feeling of a refined yet not cold place: an osteria, yes, but with a contemporary twist. The atmosphere is welcoming, warm, almost familiar, yet at the same time neat and well-thought-out. There's that balance between tradition and modernity that so many reviews emphasize, and it really shines here. I took my time and began browsing the menu, which focuses heavily on Roman cuisine. I ordered a few classic dishes, particularly intrigued by the carbonara and other pasta dishes that are often praised. And indeed, that's where the strong point lies: bold flavors, quality ingredients, and generous portions. It's a cuisine that stays true to tradition, but with a few small, more modern touches that aren't distracting—quite the opposite. One thing I really appreciated was the feeling of "real" cuisine, not touristy. It's clear there's a family history behind it, along with a certain attention to the finest ingredients, something many customers point out. The service, in my case, was kind and helpful, without being intrusive. Here, too, I found what you often read about: friendly staff who make you feel at ease. Sure, when the place fills up, there's a bit of a wait, but that's part of the pace of a place like this. If I had to find a small flaw, I'd say that not all the dishes impressed me equally: some are truly excellent, others simply good. But that's also the beauty of authentic osterias: they're not perfect, they're real. Ultimately, at Fratelli Mori I had a pleasant, sincere, and unforced dinner. It's one of those places you'll gladly return to, perhaps to try other dishes and rediscover that convivial atmosphere that, in Rome, when it's done well... you immediately notice.

28/03/2026: Whenever I come to Rome, we make a must-try stop at this restaurant. The place is spacious and welcoming. I recommend the spaghettoni alla gricia or the classic tonnarelli cacio e pepe, delicious. Second course: saltimbocca alla romana, or better yet: Iberian pork cheek, melt-in-the-mouth. Dessert is top-notch. What more can I say?

28/02/2026: I have to be honest! When we eat at this restaurant, it feels like home! So, I can't say enough good things about it! Try it and believe it!

08/02/2026: It's the classic trattoria-pizzeria down the street. Where you know you're going for dinner and will be treated with affection. The manager is always available, the food is simple, not fancy, but good and carefully prepared. The pizza is excellent, "Roman" style, thin and well-cooked, with the classic toppings, but if you want a twist, just ask (I doubt it's possible to have it with pineapple). The desserts are always good. At the end of the meal, a glass of limoncello or blueberry grappa. Reasonable prices compared to other places in the area, considering it's less than a kilometer from St. Peter's. A tip: once you exit, go to the traffic light on the right, the pedestrian crossing on Gregorio VII, and look to the right. The view will remind you that you're in a unique place. M!
