If you're looking for a simple meal, look elsewhere. If you're looking for an experience that nourishes the soul (and the palate) in one of Italy's most charming villages, Il Graal is a must-see.
The Atmosphere
As soon as you step inside, you're catapulted into another dimension. The restaurant is intimate, meticulously curated, and imbued with that esoteric and artistic streak that makes Calcata unique. It's the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a complete escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The Taste
The cuisine is a celebration of local flavors, but with a surprising touch of creativity.
• First Courses: Homemade pasta with the aroma of tradition. I highly recommend the dishes with truffles or local mushrooms: intense flavors and top-quality ingredients.
• Second Courses: Perfectly cooked meat, tender and flavorful.
• Desserts: A divine conclusion. Don't leave without trying the dessert of the day!
The Service
The staff is the real added value: welcoming, knowledgeable, and never intrusive. They make you feel "at home" in an enchanted castle, guiding you in your wine selection with great expertise.
05/05/2026: We came to this place almost disoriented, knowing nothing about the place and the truly remarkable culinary experience it offers. The owners immediately put us at ease, treating us like we were at home. We even arrived outside of normal hours, and instead of turning us away, they were so kind and courteous that they even explained the wonderful legends of Cacata to us. What can we say, aside from their great courtesy, they are, above all, great chefs and expert restaurateurs. We ate wild boar and a veal cheek marinated and cooked for 20 hours, so tender and truly delicious. We will definitely be back; they have become our favorites.

01/05/2026: Kind, friendly, and fast, even when busy. The cappellacci are delicious; everything is good. The interior is very unique and well-kept. The price is fair. You can even bring your dog. I recommend it.
30/04/2026: Lunch at the Opera Restaurant in Calcata was a wonderful surprise. The village is magical in itself, but entering this restaurant is like crossing the threshold of an elegant greenhouse: the space is literally covered in plants, vines, ferns, and soft lighting that create an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for a lunch for two.
At the table, we found creative cuisine that showcases the local area: Lazio ingredients crafted with skill and respect. The shared appetizers were excellent, along with the handmade first courses and a carefully curated wine list featuring natural and local labels. Balanced portions, distinct flavors, and carefully presented dishes without being overbearing.
The service was attentive and passionate: the staff expertly explained the dishes and offered recommendations, putting you at ease without rushing. Prices were fair for the quality offered and the attention to detail throughout the experience.
Amid hanging plants, artisanal ceramics, and views of the valley, Opera is the perfect place if you're looking for a romantic and unique break. We'll be back for dinner at sunset.

Il Casale sul Fiume Treja

20/07/2025: Casale tenuto veramente bene e adatto a tutti, grandi spazi per i bimbi dove poter giocare ma anche molta ombra per i più grandi dove poter stare in tranquillità.
L’ingresso comprensivo di parcheggio e barbecue, viene €15 pp. (adulti e ragazzi)
€10 se non si usufruisce del barbecue, non poco sinceramente, ma la proprietaria ne giustifica onestamente le varie spese.
Risulta meno onesto e logico quindi, il prezzo a persona del barbecue, dove gruppi numerosi di persone (ad esempio 20 pp. sganciano €300 euro (€100 se vogliamo togliere le €200 di ingresso) per usufruire del barbecue (nemmeno munito di legna) quando in realtà dovrebbe avere un prezzo fisso da suddividere per tutti i partecipanti.
Posto molto bello, forse un po’ caro considerati gli effettivi servizi offerti.
21/06/2025: Qualità prezzo non proporzionata per il menù fisso con antipasto di salumi e formaggi ( solo ricotta) e primo bevande incluse.
Bella location ma a parer mio da rivedere la cucina.

24/03/2025: Volevo portare un amico a vedere questo luogo incantevole, una città posta su una roccia, abbiamo pranzato in questa osteria con il proprietario molto gentile e accogliente. I piatti gustosi da ritornare.
09/03/2025: Un gioiellino nel centro di Calcata. Ottimo e abbondante tagliere, primi eccellenti e vasta scelta di secondi a base di carne. Gentilissimo il proprietario e il resto del personale.

Il mio è arrivato subito il suo quando avevo finito il mio che per aspettare era anche diventato freddo e non era nemmeno quello che avevo ordinato….
Quindi esperienza da non ripetere e da non consigliare
01/06/2025: Do due punti solo per l'impegno e la fatica dei poveri camerieri che si vedeva stavano dando il meglio di quello che potevano.
Loro correvano come matti da una parte all'altra ma il punto è: com'è possibile che per mangiare i primi siamo stati serviti con tempistiche tanto diverse? Il primo piatto è stato servito a mio marito, dopo 10 minuti che lui aveva finito è arrivato il mio piatto... dopo altri 10 minuti o forse più... il piatto di mia figlia! Direi quasi comico (per non dire altro) ognuno di noi ha mangiato mentre gli altri componenti della famiglia lo guardavano! Non si è mangiato male... ma pazzesco, siamo arrivati all'una e ce ne siamo andati alle 15. I tavoli intorno a noi lamentavano la stessa cosa!
Non ci tornerei. Mi ripeto, un plauso agli instancabili camerieri.

14/04/2025: Andateci assolutamente se volete mangiare materie prime a KM 0, immergervi in un’atmosfera semplice e rustica, assaggiare piatti molto saporiti! Consigliatissimo :) Rapporto qualità prezzo ottima
02/03/2025: Ambiente caratteristico, cucina genuina e realmente a km 0. Conoscendo la zona ho riscontrato la vera ricerca del prodotto locale proposto con una cucina che ne esalta tutte le peculiarità. Dall'antipasto al dolce, nessuno escluso! Personale attento a far conoscere i prodotti in maniera professionale, pur mantenendo un approccio accogliente e familiare! Torneremo presto a provare altre pietanze!
P.s. osservate con attenzione ogni angolo del locale... rappresenta appieno la personalità del luogo!
