Excellent welcome and top-notch service. Very good wine and starters. A very pleasant place, the glass roof, the smart and rustic decor is very well thought out. You feel like you're being taken care of :) Can't wait to go back for the spaghetti alle vongole! Magnificent medieval village just steps from the restaurant, very close to the archaeological site of ancient Ostia. I love this place, so peaceful.

A historic restaurant that never disappoints. Chef Andrea is very attentive to his guests and always innovates with fresh ingredients. The cuisine is traditional yet different from Roman trattorias. The fish is delicious and fresh.

An absolutely enchanting location near the walls of Ostia Antica, romantic and welcoming. I've lived in Casal Palocco for 55 years and was unfamiliar with this extraordinary restaurant. It offers the freshest seafood, with a fantastic owner who welcomed us with open arms and a smile, recommending exceptional seafood dishes. I discovered flavors I'd never tried before: sea bass ravioli, sea asparagus (salicornia), cuttlefish with peas, and spaghetti with clams and cockles. I can't say enough about this incredible place; suffice it to say that by dining here, you'll find yourself walking in the footsteps of Totò, the Dalai Lama, Mitterrand, and Jacqueline Kennedy.

Excellent restaurant in the center of Ostia Antica, perfect for business meetings and family gatherings...very fresh fish...attentive and helpful staff... The traditional Roman recipes are delicious.

Fabulous venue, very attentive, professional, and friendly wait staff. The manager, whom we stopped to chat with for a few minutes, was extremely pleasant. The dishes were truly delicious; we had an appetizer for two, two first courses, and the tiramisu, which deserves an honorable mention. We celebrated our anniversary here and will gladly return.

I ordered 2 cappuccinos and 1 pastry, and the whole bill came to just 8.50 euros, which felt like excellent value for central Rome. The cappuccinos were smooth, creamy, and well balanced, with a rich flavour that made them easy to enjoy. The pastry was fresh and light, with just the right amount of sweetness to go with the coffee. What I liked most was the atmosphere: calm, local, and unpretentious, with quick service and a relaxed pace that made the stop feel easy and genuine. It is the kind of place you can pop into for a simple breakfast without spending too much time or money, yet still walk away feeling satisfied. Being so close to the Trevi Fountain makes it even better, because you can grab a coffee here and continue straight into one of Rome’s most iconic areas. For a straightforward, affordable, and pleasant start to the day, Bar San Marcello is a solid choice and a spot I would happily return to again.
