29/03/2026: If you go to Genzano, eating at Mascelloni is a must. They're famous for their pappardelle with wild boar in white sauce, their Genzano pork butcher's shop, pannicolo, campanallo, and abbacchio alla svinatora. Their pizzas are also excellent. With their warm welcome, they make you feel right at home, not to mention the fantastic service. Always ask Stefano for advice on food and wine pairings. Reservations are recommended. 13/04/2026: I'd heard good things about this restaurant and decided to go on Easter Monday: I've never made such a bad choice. Starting with the appetizer: two slices of dry, inedible prosciutto, a slice of "Milano" salami that we can eat every day (wasn't this a typical game restaurant?), a few olives, and not even a piece of cheese. A good start to the day is always a good start, there's little you can do about it. They added two wild boar sausages (really nothing special), but only because I complained. Let's move on to the first course: linguine with venison sauce. I could only taste the sauce... The lamb, typical of those days, wasn't there, and several guests complained. I won't go any further: personally, I wouldn't return even if they paid me. The atmosphere is nice, which might suggest excellent dishes, but that's not the case. The waiters are quick and friendly, especially one girl who made me understand not to order certain dishes. In short: a resounding failure. But that's my opinion, for goodness sake. Take it as such.

06/04/2026: We visited this restaurant and were immediately struck by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff: welcoming, attentive, and always smiling, which truly makes the difference.
The food was all delicious and of the highest quality.
We started with some truly delicious appetizers, then moved on to the first courses... the homemade pasta was exceptional, you could taste all the care and tradition. The open kitchen was super clean.
The meat was also top-notch, cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful.
To conclude, dessert was a must: spectacular tiramisu made to order.
The atmosphere is that of a true traditional osteria, warm and pleasant, perfect for feeling at home and enjoying a DELICIOUS lunch or dinner.
Thank you so much, because experiences like this remind you that when you work with love and passion, the difference is truly noticeable. And it reaches, loud and clear, even those sitting across the table.

30/04/2026: I discovered this very welcoming place thanks to the invitation of my local friends, with its flowers and background music, making it a great place to unwind after a busy day at work or simply relax over a delicious dinner.
I try to go often because I know I can find delicious lactose- and gluten-free products. I also feel welcomed and understood every time I make a request (obviously due to intolerances), unlike the often uncomfortable experience of other places where I ask for variations on food that, unfortunately, aren't good for me. Here, I can relax and enjoy pizza, meat, fried foods, or desserts with my friends without any discomfort and without sacrificing flavor and culinary delights. All the staff are truly welcoming and friendly. You're a wonderful discovery.

16/04/2026: We visited the restaurant last week. It was a pleasure. No menu, sit back and enjoy the Roman dishes. Exquisite service and attention. The restaurant is located in a cave dating back to 300 BC. It is an experience in itself. We will be back.

Ms. Paola welcomed us with love and kindness.
Dinner is based on a fixed-course menu. Everything was excellent, made with quality ingredients.
We had a wonderful evening. Highly recommended.

16/03/2026: Unfortunately, I've become addicted to their coconut milk cappuccino, and I don't know how to get out of it. And every time, I get stuck with their tramezzini, always fresh and REALLY good.
A huge selection of everything, and everything's delicious. Not to mention the people who work there, who are infinitely grateful to have this bar so close by 🥺❤️

07/03/2026: We dined at this restaurant and were very pleased. The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, perfect for a quiet evening. Eric is always extremely kind and professional. The dishes were beautifully presented and prepared, and, as always, the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. The quality/price ratio was also excellent. It's now a regular stop in Genzano.
10/12/2025: A high-end restaurant with very affordable prices, located on one of Genzano's most iconic streets. It offers both traditional dishes and truly interesting reinterpretations. Everything, from appetizers to dessert, is meticulously prepared. The wine list is extensive, the service excellent, and the location is also unique.

13/12/2025: There are no words to describe the cuisine I tried at this restaurant, every dish reflects the traditions and flavors of yesteryear.
Highly recommended.
26/11/2025: The two first courses were excellent: tonnarelli cacio e pepe and a remarkable carbonara.
It's a shame there are so few traditional Roman dishes.
The restaurant tries to project a Michelin-starred air, as many unfortunately do nowadays, starting with the choice of glasses, which are as low as Ikea candle holders. Service is rather slow, but friendly.

15/03/2026: Last night I was in Genzano with 10 other friends for a training course, and we made a last-minute reservation at this restaurant: we ate divinely! As a vegan, I especially appreciated the thoughtfulness of their efforts to prepare something original and delicious for me...which is definitely not a given. The location is truly unique, and the staff is friendly and welcoming! A truly wonderful discovery!
22/02/2026: My partner, my son, and I had lunch today. The welcome was very friendly, but the food was mind-blowingly good value. An appetizer on a board with a couple of slices of cold cuts each (ham, mortadella, loin, salami), a bowl of ricotta, and a slice of mortadella each, cooked on the grill, cost €45. Then the first courses arrived, no comment... the ingredients were low-quality... we basically got up, paid the €95 bill, and ran away. There was just something to discuss, but given the small place and the people who were eating, I preferred to leave. I won't add anything else, even if there is something to say...

It's been under new management since November. I went to try it, and the portions are generous (perhaps even too generous). For example, I would have preferred less pasta, but with better sauces. The quality of the ingredients is good, but I wasn't impressed.
OLD REVIEW
This was our second visit to this restaurant in Genzano with a couple of friends. The restaurant has limited seating, so it's best to book in advance. It's entirely run by a couple, one in the kitchen and the other serving. Don't expect a huge menu; there's a house appetizer with dishes that change every day, three or four first courses, the same number of second courses, a dish of the day, desserts, and wines. But that's not a flaw, on the contrary! All the dishes are top-quality! A few dishes with character are better than a vast, anonymous selection. The dishes combine tradition with some more modern combinations, all expertly managed by the chef. A place where the flavors and atmosphere make you feel at home.
We had a chat with the two owners at the end of the evening, and they're both lovely, kind, and passionate about their work. I wish them all the best. If you haven't noticed, I highly recommend it!

If I had to recommend a perfect pizza for those with intolerances, I'd recommend the bufalina. 😋😋😋

They remade them for us, and they were inedible—the meat was incredibly tough and chewy.
And finally, a 10 euro discount!!!!
