The food is truly delicious, and the service is kind and courteous. 28/12/2025: The Bologna area is increasingly becoming a hub for the myriad of young people attending the nearby La Sapienza University.
There are few real restaurants left. Among these, the Gran Sasso restaurant deserves a special mention: a family-run restaurant offering a variety of dishes that follow Roman tradition and more.
The kindness of the owners and the excellent value for money are further reasons to return to a place that's as pleasant as it was in the old days.

We ate very well: the appetizers were excellent, with fried zucchini flowers, the perfectly prepared bucatini all'amatriciana, the saltimbocca alla romana, and the truly delicious lamb.
A special thanks to the person who served us, very kind and attentive.

The dishes are very tasty, and you can almost barely notice the lack of meat and cheese.

17/03/2026: A small place with very good pizza (I tried the broccoli and provola calzone, the fresh cherry tomato pizza, and the Margherita) and equally good artisanal suppli. Also open on Sundays for lunch. Good prices. Very friendly staff.
17/03/2026: Excellent! The toppings and dough are simply superb, the supplì and croquettes are fabulous, and the staff is incredibly friendly!
The only downside is living around the corner and being constantly tempted!

02/02/2026: We had lunch at Cantina Bucciarelli a few weeks ago. The staff were helpful and the place was cozy, but for our tastes, the pasta was inedible! Not because of the sauce, but because of the cooking. Now I understand that al dente pasta is what most restaurants serve, but in this case, it was truly RAW. We spent the entire afternoon with a heavy stomach, and I don't think that should be the case when you go to a restaurant for lunch. We're truly sorry.

14/03/2026: The ambiance, with its relaxed atmosphere perfect for conversation, was lovely. The food was excellent, and our waiter was fantastic. We went there on our first evening in Rome, and it certainly won't be our last. We'd love to come back!
12/03/2026: My wife and I went there twice while in Rome. Normally we like to try different places every night but we loved it so much we had to go back again. They had a great mushroom pasta special, and excellent wine. The food was locally sourced and out of this world. Despite being so close to the Colosseum it wasn’t one of those more touristy restaurants. Our server, who was the owner gave us prosecco the second night. He was an amazing gentleman. There are lots of good places to eat in Rome and Italy as a whole, but this was and continues to be one of our favorite. If you don’t know, you don’t have to tip in Italy. We still tipped these guys, it was so awesome.

13/03/2026: I'd been told it was an excellent restaurant, but I'd never been there before, and until you try it for yourself, you can't say the last thing.
We had appetizers, first courses, and second courses, and I have to say everything was excellent, dishes expertly crafted with quality ingredients.

08/02/2026: A restaurant where passion for cooking is the primary ingredient of excellent dishes. A cuisine where tradition and intelligent, balanced innovation blend perfectly. I'd say it's one of the few restaurants in Rome where I'll continue to be satisfied. Excellent, informal service, delicious dishes that, afterward, are remembered only for their taste. Excellent desserts.
