05/04/2026: The view right in front of you is absolutely stunning — the sunlight is soft and incredibly comfortable, making it the kind of place you just want to sit and stay. I had both a red wine and a champagne, and honestly, they were better than what I’ve had at some wineries. What really stood out was the bartender — they offered me a complimentary house specialty cocktail, which was beautifully fresh. The floral element was unexpected: it slightly tangles your tongue at first, but then opens up into something quite mind-blowing. A place where the atmosphere, drinks, and small details all come together effortlessly.

28/03/2026: Aside from the ridiculously high price (two glasses of wine for €35), which I understand given the location and the view (it's on a street terrace with a lovely view, after all), I'm shocked that in such a breezy and cold place, there's no outdoor heater like everywhere else. We arrived at sunset, around 6:30 PM, and literally left at 7 PM because it was so cold. It's a shame, because we had high expectations.

26/04/2026: A 3-night stay in this magnificent hotel in Tuscany. The location is stunning, as are the facilities and restaurants; relaxation is guaranteed. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The only downside: upon departure (12 pm checkout), we asked if it would be possible to have lunch in the restaurant and enjoy a few extra hours at the pool (until the arrival of new guests). Eating in the restaurant was fine, but the pool was not. No discussion... I found this reaction completely inappropriate for a 5-star hotel... I think there was clearly a way to allow us to enjoy the pool for two more hours... but no effort was made. A shame.

25/12/2025: A very nice place, well-managed. It's a shame the drinks are a bit pricey, but especially the girl who makes them serves very small quantities. I hope it's not the place's policy, because it would be scandalous. I can pay whatever it's worth for a gin, but I expect the same amount as other places. Merry Christmas!

27/01/2026: I would have preferred to spend much more and eat much better (my plate was almost intact when it was brought back because the meat was not at all fresh) furthermore our table was in the worst place, 2 meters from the kitchen which most likely does not have an efficient extraction system, in fact our clothes smelled of fried food.

11/09/2025: The most disgusting Osso Bucco I have ever tasted. All gristle and fat, when I queried it I was told that that is the dish although I know that M&S and also other restaurants serve far better meat. The first restaurant you see down the street looks busy and fun, just make sure you order the right dish. No apology, no sorry we’ll take it off the bill nothing. If you’re English don’t go IMO.

17/05/2026: Bo 11/5/2026 The image that came to mind when I entered Osteria di Mugnanese, in Castiglione del Lago (PG), including the owners, could easily be placed in the early Middle Ages, even given its location. This signifies a genuine rustic atmosphere, honesty, and (alas) a lost time. A nearly fixed menu with fresh products, respect for tradition, and family-style service. Absolutely worth a try, including the scenic impact. My only criticism: a restaurant of that caliber deserves a more suitable wine. Excellent and friendly, regardless. Alfredo from Bologna

15/03/2026: We need to promote authentic places! One of the few osterias in the area that still offers a traditional menu without any reinterpretations, all at truly fair prices and generous portions. Excellent!

04/06/2026: There was one big issue which potential customers should understand. I ordered a glass of chianti classico riserva. When it came, I assessed and concluded that it was off. It had that nose of "this bottle has been open too long". the color was ok. The taste confirmed that it was off. I didn't say a word to my wife, who smelled the wine and immediately said it was off. She tasted it and confirmed that it was off. We told the waiter who insisted that the wine was perfect and we were wrong.The food was quite good, though the selection was limited and some items on the menu were not available. We did not go to a hotel with this name. We went to a restaurant.

04/06/2026: Surely, one of the best Tuscan restaurants we’ve been to! O tried their pici caccio e pepe, and it was amazing! Since it is a crowded place, better to book a table or go there early. They have tables both inside and the outside! Great and fast service!

I rented the room they recently opened for my son's first birthday, and I have to say that, in addition to the reasonable prices, the food is excellent. The room is also very beautiful, so if you're looking for a place where you can eat well and affordably, this is the place.

My experience today was a perfect balance between a charming setting and a treat for the palate. The restaurant itself is a beautiful place, cozy and well-kept, immediately conveying that sense of hospitality typical of the Crete Senesi villages. The atmosphere is relaxed, ideal for anyone looking to unplug and enjoy a moment of tranquility in a very pleasant aesthetic context. The undisputed highlight is the great food. It is clear that every dish is not the result of industrial or pre-heated preparation, but of a kitchen that prioritizes freshness. Everything is made to order, and the quality of the raw materials shines through in every bite. The flavors are bold, genuine, and respectful of local tradition—a real delight for those who appreciate cooking done the old-fashioned way. If I had to make one small note, it would be regarding the timing: the service was a little slow, even though there weren't many people in the dining room. However, to be fair, this is often the price you pay for food that is prepared "espresso." When you choose to eat dishes cooked from scratch rather than something ready in two minutes, you have to expect a slightly longer wait than average. In conclusion, if you are not in a rush and are looking for quality that stands out from the crowd, La Mencia will definitely win you over. Your patience is amply rewarded by excellent dishes in a splendid setting. Recommended!
