15/08/2026: Service was not very hospitable. Breakfast quality was adequate.

21/05/2026: The passion of pastry chefs can be measured in bites: and this is a place where you'll never stop tasting every creation, from the mignonnettes and biscuits to the traditional pastries, from the nougat, panforte, and panpepati in season to the sumptuous wedding cakes (my favorite are the Bavarian ones) and the croissants, maritozzi, puff pastry, and rice puddings to accompany a coffee or cappuccino. Simply unmissable... and in the evening they also serve excellent cocktails and long drinks, both classic and innovative.

02/07/2026: We dined in the restaurant, at the outdoor tables in July, so I don't know if the menu changes. The wild boar stew was completely saltless and flavorless. The burrata was simply tomato, a basil leaf, and mozzarella, which didn't taste like burrata at all. The truffle pizza was a bit overdone, and the only redeeming feature was the truffle. I understand that it's hard to find high-quality staff in restaurants these days, but in my opinion, it wasn't a cuisine suited to Italians who want to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine, so it seemed more suited to foreign tourists passing through.

20/06/2026: We wanted to sit down for espresso and drinks. We were told we had to order food or they wouldn't serve us. I'm happy to give it a 1. The restaurant next door accommodated us without any problems.

24/05/2026: Was there this morning its a nice place to eat good chicken kebabs in Siena

11/05/2026: DO NOT SHOP HERE THE OWNER IS A SCAM ARTIST. They charged me 171.54$ for 2 kebabs and some samosas and tried to claim that I didn’t pay them when I requested a refund. The owner and the people who work there refused to believe me and accused my charge of not going through even through I have proof. DO NOT SHOP HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE

12/08/2026: Beautiful panoramic location, long wait when the restaurant is half empty (about an hour between ordering and being served). Poor value for money. Compared to the average Tuscan restaurant, it's not recommended.

11/08/2026: Very warm welcome, magnificent location, panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside, good food at the entrance to the old town. Would do it again.

13/03/2026: They have the best ice cream, or rather gelato, I've ever had in Italy; you absolutely must try them. Every flavor is delicious! 👏👏

08/02/2026: Eating Italian gelato in winter! When you come to Siena, you absolutely must try the pistachio gelato. Because it's cold in winter, you can slowly enjoy the gelato without it melting. The texture is incredibly smooth and creamy. The owner has a distinctive, handsome beard and speaks in Italian – perfect for Instagram photos! So nice! 🍦 Welcome to the NICE gelato shop! Just walk uphill for 50 meters to your right in the center of the square!

04/06/2026: Surely, one of the best Tuscan restaurants we’ve been to! O tried their pici caccio e pepe, and it was amazing! Since it is a crowded place, better to book a table or go there early. They have tables both inside and the outside! Great and fast service!

04/06/2026: There was one big issue which potential customers should understand. I ordered a glass of chianti classico riserva. When it came, I assessed and concluded that it was off. It had that nose of "this bottle has been open too long". the color was ok. The taste confirmed that it was off. I didn't say a word to my wife, who smelled the wine and immediately said it was off. She tasted it and confirmed that it was off. We told the waiter who insisted that the wine was perfect and we were wrong.The food was quite good, though the selection was limited and some items on the menu were not available. We did not go to a hotel with this name. We went to a restaurant.

03/06/2026: Castello di Spaltenna makes a striking first impression: its location in the Tuscan hills is stunning, and the pool is fantastic. Architecturally, the property is truly exceptional and full of character. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive. However, considering the high price point, there are a few aspects that fall short. The gym has equipment that isn't working – this simply shouldn't happen at a resort of this caliber. Even more disappointing: the beds consist of two single beds pushed together. At these prices, this is simply unacceptable. The restaurant also leaves much to be desired. The prices are high, but the quality is, at best, average. Pre-packaged items like tortellini don't fit the ambiance or the price point – one expects significantly more.

16/06/2026: Very bad experience, restaurant in Siena no typical dish, ordered cockerel alla diavola, half a baked cockerel arrived, at the cashier I pointed out that it was not a cockerel alla diavola, total indifference, not recommended, better a sandwich with mec, and this is heavy given that for me the mec is the last resort

06/06/2026: We had a delicious meal here. I don't think the restaurant is called Fontabecci anymore. Perhaps there's been a change of ownership? We had pizza Margherita and pasta with tomato sauce. Unfortunately, they didn't have tuna pizza. The waiter was very helpful and friendly.

04/05/2026: Hotel located in the center of Colle Val d'Elsa. As its name suggests, it was once home to the local paper mill, whose products could be transported to the port of Pisa because the Elsa River was navigable at the time, allowing access to all the then-known markets. The rooms are welcoming and kept very clean. The food is plentiful and good. Parking near the hotel is a bit difficult. Parking is available about 400 meters away.

02/11/2025: It's an ideal farmhouse to unplug from the city. Relaxing, excellent cuisine. Ornella, Claudio, and Eleonora are unique. Their hospitality makes you feel completely at ease. I've been there before and will return many more. I highly recommend it with all my heart.
