02/01/2026: New Year's Eve 2026. Welcoming. Functional rooms. The room sleeps 4, but the sofa bed was the only bed available, not the most comfortable with two teenagers. There's no radiator in the bathroom, and you can hear it 😅 You can book breakfast for €6. Federica is helpful and good company.

05/08/2026: A tourist destination. Lacking any distinctive flavor. We ordered lasagna al ragu and pici. The lasagna was flavorless, there was very little meat, and I barely tasted the béchamel sauce. The pici were also bland. The dishes were definitely not worth the price.

02/07/2026: Caffe la Fortezza presents itself as an authentic bar near the Fortezza in the historic center. Although we only had two quick coffees, we found the bar's offerings to be good and sufficient. Friendly barista, everything was fine.

11/07/2026: We usually come to this pizzeria with a group of friends. The pizza is excellent, but we come mostly for the excellent service from Emanuela, a professional and very kind waitress who is ready to fulfill any customer request. I highly recommend a visit.

12/07/2026: We visited this restaurant after it was recommended by our hotel. Beforehand, we asked the hotel staff if we needed a reservation, and they strongly recommended making one. However, when we arrived, we were the only guests in the entire restaurant, which made the atmosphere feel rather unusual. We ordered a Bistecca alla Fiorentina and mentioned that we weren’t very hungry. We understood that the exact weight is difficult to estimate, but we specifically asked for a smaller cut. Despite that, we were served a steak weighing almost 1.5 kg, which felt excessive and not entirely fair given our request. The food itself was very good—the steak was delicious, and the wine was excellent. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the food. We found the staff to be unfriendly and somewhat condescending at times, which didn’t make us feel particularly welcome. The location is also worth mentioning. The restaurant is situated in an industrial area, so there isn’t much of a view or atmosphere to enjoy, especially when the restaurant is empty. Overall, the kitchen delivers quality food and wine, but the service and overall dining experience left room for improvement.

20/04/2026: Fantastic location, quiet location. Part of a small village in the Sienese hills where time seems to return to less turbulent times. Rooms aren't overly spacious but offer every comfort. A good bed for resting and rejuvenating. The bathroom is a decent size, but the shower is a bit small. Decent WiFi; the ground-floor rooms have limited reception, but it's perfect in all common areas. The restaurant is in a stunning location; truly delicious food, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The panoramic terrace is perfect for reading, enjoying a nice aperitif, and enjoying the view in complete tranquility. I recommend staying a few days.

12/08/2026: Arrived at 8:20 PM and asked for a pizza and a focaccia. Answer: I can prepare them for 9:15 PM because I have to make the 9:00 PM ones. I understand it can be a lot of work and it can't be easy on your own, but waiting about an hour for two pizzas is truly insane... (Given that it's a Wednesday, not even the weekend... Nothing to say, it speaks for itself.)

13/07/2026: Passing through town for a weekend to celebrate a friend's bachelorette party, we stopped here for an aperitif and were treated like princesses; they even offered us a delicious gnocchi. The staff was very friendly, but I especially wanted to thank the two young men who served us; they were fantastic. I absolutely recommend it.

13/07/2026: We were a group of eight in Castellina and wanted to enjoy one last lovely evening in Tuscany. We immediately liked the small, charming restaurant, and the staff took care of us right from the moment we asked if there was a table available. There's a small pizzeria with the restaurant directly adjacent. If you just want a pizza, you can have it here, but if you're looking for a delicious dinner, that's also an option. The service was simply 10/10 from beginning to end. The menu was regional and perfectly suited to Tuscany and the Chianti region. The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended!
