04/01/2026: Lunch stop at this small restaurant after visiting San Gimignano. The truffle tartare was simple but good, the pasta was dry, and the side dishes were very small… The welcome was unfriendly and the service sluggish…

29/12/2025: We ordered two carbonara dishes that were mediocre. The downside was that the pieces of bacon served were almost entirely just fat. The biggest drawback was the lack of hygiene: the waiter serving the dining room was covering his coughs with his hands and, without washing them, was handling plates and cutlery to serve customers.

22/01/2026: We loved our stay at Borgo Santo Pietro and one of our favorite parts was the food at Trattoria sull'Albero. It was truly top notch! The restaurant itself is beautiful and cozy with several wood burning fireplaces and an outstanding view of the countryside. There were great indoor and outdoor bars, fire pits, patio seating, truly everything you could want. Onto the food, which was SO SO good. Hands down the best pizza we had the entire time that we were in Italy. Nothing that we had wasn't delicious. The wild boar pasta and the fermented purple rice salad were also both stand outs. You can really tell that the ingredients are coming straight from farm to table. We came home in October but I am still dreaming about this food months later.

01/01/2026: Excellent food, plentiful! The ossobuco was top-notch and the tagliata was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had dinner on January 1st, 2026, and everything was extraordinary! It was our first time dining there. We recommend it to everyone.

05/08/2025: Pochi piatti ma molto ben cucinati, atmosfera familiare e un oste che ti fa sentire a tuo agio. Prezzi alti ma in linea con lo standard di Pienza: molto gradito il liquore finale…. ci facciamo uno Spinello? 😁 Ci tornerei anche domani!

31/07/2025: Ambiente gradevole e personale molto gentile menù molto limitato e prezzi esosi. Pici all'aglione buoni ma non abbondanti e un prezzo elevato (18 euro). Una lattina di Coca Cola 5 euro, un bicchiere di vino della casa 8 euro. Non lo consiglio nè ci tornerei.

08/02/2026: We had lunch today and had a wonderful time. The welcome was warm and the service impeccable; the food was delicious, with generous portions and reasonable prices. We chose the house specialties: Crostone with porcini mushrooms, mozzarella, and pancetta, Truffle-flavored pici with Pienza pecorino cheese, Pappardelle with white Chianina beef ragù, Sweet and sour red cabbage, Chocolate mousse. Panna cotta We also received helpful local tips. We highly recommend it and plan to return when we're in the area again.

17/01/2026: We ate at this restaurant for lunch in January. The atmosphere is quaint but very cold; the heating wasn't working. We immediately pointed this out, but nothing changed. The food was good, but not much; after two courses, you'll be left hungry. Despite the complaint and the fact that we ate in the cold, I expected a discount, which I would have appreciated.
