13/04/2025: Both the food and the service were perfect. We arrived without a reservation and they treated us wonderfully.

13/04/2025: They say they are open all day, till late evening. We modified our route to Siena to eat there, only to discover that the kitchen was closed (at 15.00). It was a big disappointment.

07/06/2026: We went for dinner at the recommendation of the owner of the farmhouse where we were staying. Even though there were several people there, they served us quickly. The food was good, the lamb stew was special and plentiful. Well done.

06/06/2026: Excellent food and a very reasonable price. It was well worth it. The restaurant entrance is quite discreet, but the interior features tables in a spectacular outdoor area, decorated with grapevines.

07/10/2025: A surprising discovery during our visit to the Abbazia San Galgano: a cute little bar with a lovely, spacious outdoor area in the middle of the forest. The concise menu with uncomplicated yet delicious dishes and the friendly service are only topped by the wonderful natural scenery. Dogs are welcome and readily provided with fresh water. We felt very comfortable there and set off on our next travels feeling refreshed. Be sure to try the Galgano red wine!

25/09/2025: The place is ideal for a break after visiting the abbey, then the church... so going downstairs you'll find this bar, ideally located. We ate various bruschetta (I recommend the chicken liver one, absolutely delicious!!), the excellent ribollita, and other first courses. There's a bit of a wait, but you can't always rush. The quality of the food is worth the wait. It's a shame I didn't take photos... take my word for it!

20/05/2026: We arrived around noon to just have a glass of wine with some cheese. We were the only ones there since it was early . The server, who we think was the owner told us they had extra artichoke and if we wanted to finish it, we could have it free . We happily accepted. Then she asked us what else we wanted to order for a meal . We told her just the wine and cheese was all. She loudly said No Food, scowled, turned and stormed away, obviously angry. From then on, we were ignored and she never brought the artichoke that she had offered earlier . We have had great, friendly service in all of the restaurants except for this place.

17/05/2026: We stopped for breakfast and the coffee was delicious, we repeated. And the sandwiches are also very good, they cut the sausage for you when preparing the sandwich. Everything was very good and the staff was very friendly and pleasant.

14/01/2026: Poor quality! After ordering three Toscanaccio sandwiches with Chianina burgers (which isn't a classic sandwich (semi-sweet), but rather a schiacciata like the one pictured on the menu), we received three classic sandwiches with mushrooms that tasted like pickled mushrooms and mayonnaise! Luckily, at least the burger was Chianina, and the quality was still poor! I pointed out to the waiter that I hadn't ordered the sandwiches he'd brought us—three classic sandwiches with Chianina—but three Toscanaccio sandwiches. I showed him the photo on the menu, and he argued that those were the sandwiches, even though they looked completely different in the photo! After a heated discussion, we took them, but upon eating them, we noticed that the toppings and the bun were truly awful! Terrible service and quality! It would have been enough to say that they had run out of that type of sandwich (schiaccia) without insisting and arguing that that was the sandwich! It was completely different! We won't be going back!

02/01/2026: New Year's Eve 2026. Welcoming. Functional rooms. The room sleeps 4, but the sofa bed was the only bed available, not the most comfortable with two teenagers. There's no radiator in the bathroom, and you can hear it 😅 You can book breakfast for €6. Federica is helpful and good company.

27/10/2025: Went here on the 18th of oct and had a great time. We were a group of 8 with a toddler. There was no room for us inside so the gentleman arranged a place for us outside. It was a bit chilly and he saw us struggle and immediately brought us some blankets. The service was great. We loved the food, was one of the highlights in terms of food for me in Pienza. Keep up the great service and quality of the food. P.S. the beef stew was 👌

24/10/2025: A nice tourist spot in the center of Pienza. The prices are slightly lower than the average in the surrounding area. The atmosphere is charming and well-kept, both inside and out, with clean and convenient restrooms. The service is friendly and fast. The food isn't bad, but it's nothing special either (we tried the walnut and pecorino ravioli and the tagliatelle with meat sauce).
