22/10/2025: An excellent bar. If you're looking for a good atmosphere, great music, and reasonable prices, this is definitely the place to be. As a tourist, I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. No one pushes; both the patrons and the bartenders are relaxed and polite. They offer a variety of good beers. The bar is located on a side street. It's in a great location. The restrooms take a bit of getting used to. Still worth a visit!

11/04/2026: After leaving St. Mark's Monastery, I was originally going to another shop, but this one was packed with people, so I decided to give it a try! The owner was very friendly and joked around with everyone. I ordered roast chicken, pasta, fried potatoes, and a dessert with chocolate sauce. The roast chicken was fragrant but not very hot. The roast chicken and pasta were a bit salty for my taste; I suspect the white pasta would be better. Hopefully, someone who's tried it will let me know! However, while waiting in line, the guy next to me recommended the fried potatoes. And they were absolutely delicious! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, coated with just the right amount of spices—they were so good! I immediately packed another portion to eat while cycling, but I couldn't resist finishing it as soon as I got home! You absolutely must try these fried potatoes! Regarding the price, it's by weight, and not expensive.

09/03/2026: I took the chicken, nothing to say except that for 1 chicken, which weighed 500 grams and another half of 250-260 grams, I paid 19 euros, sky-high prices, in short, it was written that it was 13 per kg. Too bad that the weight is as if it were gold, for the rest, the environment is nice and well-kept, you can see that they work well.

05/04/2026: Homemade lunch of average quality and medium-low value. It's a home-style restaurant, so the service isn't professional, but the price is in line with professional dining. Unfortunately, the chef-owner made me wait. 35 minutes to pay. When pressed, he cited problems with the POS and asked for cash. After getting the cash, he couldn't give me change :-( and finally managed to activate the POS. He didn't issue receipts and didn't stick to the advertised menu. Negative experience.

05/04/2026: Unfortunately, the Easter menu experience wasn't a positive one—a real shame. When I booked, I was sent a menu that ended up being changed: the wine was served without a label (definitely not from Castello di Querceto), the cantuccini with vin santo weren't served, and the tart from the shared menu was suddenly turned into a tiramisu, so much so that the pregnant person at our table wasn't able to eat dessert. Overall, we were very disappointed with the grilled dog served to us: it should have been the menu's star dish, and it was disappointing because of the very small portions, which weren't enough for all 13 diners. Suffice it to say that they only brought us three sausages to share among 13... It's a shame, because the philosophy is admirable and the quality of the product is good, but the experience was not a positive one. Another point to make is the price. The menu sent at the time of booking (photo) stated €45 per person. When the bill arrived, they asked for €48 per person, which we refused to pay, pointing out that the agreed-upon price was €45 per person.

08/04/2026: I found myself at Gigli and decided to stop for a bite to eat. I had coccoli with raw ham and a spectacular seafood bavetta! Nice, large place with a large terrace for smoking, and the staff were very polite and knowledgeable.

30/03/2026: I ordered three Margherita pizzas on Delivero. I paid €7 each, and this is what I got, all three identical. It was more of a pizzetta than a pizza. Never again.

22/01/2026: I came here for a quick breakfast. Very efficient service, very good savory dishes and coffee, and fair prices. €4.30 for a coffee, a schiacciata, and a glass of water.

The food at I Re d'Egitto is simply delicious: authentic flavors, perfect spices, and dishes prepared with great care. 🍗🍚 The service is excellent; the staff is kind, welcoming, and always smiling, making you feel at home right away. The place is clean and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Highly recommended for those looking for good food and truly special treatment in Florence! ❤️🇮🇹

16/04/2026: The food is tasty and clean, but the service is very poor. The staff don’t treat customers well, and it’s hard to order what you want. They often walk away before you finish speaking. I liked the food, but I won’t come back because of the bad service.

18/04/2026: All style, no substance. The service was rude and dismissive from the start. I ordered a cheese omelette, there was barely any cheese in it. The salad was thrown on the plate completely dry, no vinaigrette, no effort. It came with a mini loaf of bread… and nothing else. No butter, no jam, just dry bread. The €4.50 espresso showed up in a tea cup. Trying to be fancy, but the coffee itself was genuinely bad. This place feels like it exists for photos, not for actual dining. Save your money and keep walking.

22/02/2026: The things I ordered didn't arrive, and they brought me other dishes I hadn't chosen. The rest of the atmosphere was sad but nice. The staff was okay, but could be improved. The food was okay. My advice is to bring things faster, bring the things I requested, and have them delivered to the right place.

06/02/2026: We found this little place by chance. A quick lunch. We had a plate of baked ham, a plate of roast beef, and two vegetable plates. Everything was excellent and flavorful. The gem of the place is definitely the very kind and helpful owner. I recommend it if you're in the area and looking for a quick but tasty bite!
