17/06/2025: Restaurant that reflects the name, that is, dedicated to meat, so do not be rude to go there with a vegetarian or a vegan. After having been there twice I can say that the quality of the dishes is good. Also good is the formula of the service, partly self-service, which speeds up the times.

The recommended wine was perfect to accompany dinner. Fair prices, generous portions, punctual service. A restaurant where you eat well and feel at home. 16/06/2025: Tucked away on a charming cobblestone street in the heart of Trastevere, Tonnarello Scala offers the kind of dining experience that makes you fall in love with Rome all over again. I stopped by for a solo lunch and ordered the meatballs with oxtail sauce, paired with a glass of the house white (Bianca)—and I’m still thinking about it. The meatballs were rich, hearty, and absolutely bursting with flavor. The oxtail sauce was a revelation—deep, savory, and full of character, like it had been slow-cooked with love for hours. Accompanied by perfectly roasted potatoes and sautéed greens, the plate was rustic Roman cuisine at its finest. The crispy flatbread served on the side added a perfect crunch and was ideal for scooping up every last bit of sauce. The house white wine was crisp, well-balanced, and a perfect companion to the dish—refreshing without overpowering the flavors. The setting? Pure magic. Sitting al fresco, watching the world go by on a historic Roman street, with the soft echo of laughter and conversation around you—it’s what dining in Italy should feel like. Attentive service, generous portions, and that uniquely Roman charm make Tonnarello Scala a must-visit. 21/07/2025: The service here was extremely disappointing. The staff lacked effort, attentiveness and basic customer service. We accidentally ordered an extra bottle of water, and when we politely asked if we could return it, they just said no. Then we noticed we were charged for bread we didn’t order, didn’t get, and obviously didn’t eat. The food wasn’t great either. The carbonara had way too much egg and just wasn’t good. The lasagna tasted nice but came out cold, which was very disappointing. What really bothered us was how we felt treated compared to other tables. It seemed like locals got much better service, while we, as tourists, were ignored or treated poorly. For a total of €70, which is not cheap at all, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The whole experience just wasn’t worth it.

13/07/2025: Neighborhood pizzeria run by young people. Prices for round pizzas are still reasonable. The pizza is large and thin, with a fairly good topping. You can choose between two flavors. The fried foods are also good. You can also order by the slice. Recommended!

29/05/2025: Historic pizzeria in Centocelle. The round pizzas are light, large, well cooked, both classic and gourmet. At lunch, a hot table, in the evening, aperitifs. Welcoming and friendly staff. Personally, Margherita Boscaiola and Capricciosa are the best, but pistachio and mortadella are also not bad. Roman fried foods, bruschetta and more, drinks at a nice average price.

20/05/2025: Best place! The owners are excellent at what they do. Both food and service were impeccable. I am visiting Rome but will definitely come back when I visit again! Loved it. The fish is so fresh and the flavors so unique!

10/05/2025: We have just returned from a quick dinner at this restaurant. Very kind staff, truly pleasant environment, generous servings but, above all, superlative quality. Finally someone who offers cuisine with sincere and original tastes. To return immediately. Spaghetti with clams, stained, like you don't see anymore. Tuna tartare with strong and not washed out flavours.. Everything exceptional.

26/07/2025: Very good pizza, clean atmosphere, and there are also tables for eating outside. The dough is light and very digestible.
