03/12/2025: I've been frequenting Focolare forever (a Monteverde delicacy), and it's always been a go-to for family lunches and after-theater drinks. However, I've been disappointed twice, so I decided to write about it! Scaloppine with porcini mushrooms was watery and bland. Bruschetta with burrata and anchovies was TINY (two thin slices of baguette). Spaghetti with clams, perhaps equivalent to half a portion, and also bland (no salt in the water, clams are fine, but a little salt is needed). The house white wine was sweet and slightly sweet. Fried food (Milanese cutlet and fried vegetables) was made with a Chinese-style batter, firm and tough, and detached. The cutlet was half raw. In short!!!! If the sous-chefs, and I don't know the chef, don't know Italian cuisine (because they were born elsewhere), it's not their fault. But I, paying what I pay at Il Focolare, expect the taste of grandma's cooking, not the invented one they think is Italian cuisine, which is what it takes. What's going on? Third time and then I'm never coming back.

23/11/2025: I always gladly return, with a warm welcome and excellent food. I've often brought friends here, and they've always been amazed by the courtesy of the service and the cuisine. You feel right at home, and you see so many families celebrating birthdays. What can I say about the zabaglione, made in front of the guests? A real coup de théâtre, with elegance and mastery. When they ask me about a restaurant in Rome, "Il Focolare," the answer is undeniable.

02/12/2025: I give it two stars because the staff is truly lovely. Otherwise, the carbonara couldn't have been more acidic, dense, and arrived slightly cold... Even the American guy next to us asked me if that was the true taste of carbonara. Definitely NOT. But worse: we asked for pecorino cheese to add and they looked at us in surprise, correcting us with "Parmesan?!" In Rome, I can't taste Parmesan on carbonara.

02/12/2025: We first visited this place 2 years ago. It's a real family business, a really cool little place! The owner welcomed us with the same enthusiasm and passion as the first time. The food is delicious, the kindness is amazing! I can only recommend it!

01/09/2025: I often travel to Lima, Peru. I have relatives there, and I'm ashamed because I've never visited such a dump, with dirty bathrooms and, last but not least, even in the dark, in Lima. I've always found excellent service, cleanliness, and excellent cuisine, which has now become world-class. I'm truly sorry, folks. Your satisfied customers have probably never tried Peruvian specialties.

14/08/2025: We have eaten all over Europe, from Spain to Greece, Denmark, England, Wales, Germany, and so many countries, hundreds of restaurants! This restaurant is in the top 3 for us! We are in love with Peruvian cuisine! If I could, I would give it 1,000,000 stars!

30/11/2025: I was pleasantly surprised by this seafood restaurant! 🌊🐟 The quality of the ingredients is excellent and you can taste it in every dish: fresh, flavorful, and cooked with great care. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to recommend the best pairings for dishes and wines. The quality/price ratio is more than adequate. Highly recommended: I'll definitely be back!

13/11/2025: I came to eat, I don't remember when but everything was good, the starter was good, the octopus carbonara was very good but the best were the octopus meatballs guys

06/11/2025: A place with a very family atmosphere, everything is delicious, from the panzerotti to the pasta dishes. For lunch, they offer daily menus for €10-12, featuring fresh daily ingredients. Located near the university, it's convenient if you're looking for a better lunch at a good price. The desserts are also excellent.

13/12/2025: The best all-you-can-eat sushi in the area. The sashimi is fresh and all the dishes we tried were delicious. Even though we went on a Saturday night, the service was very fast and the staff were really helpful (they're all super friendly!!). Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back!

15/11/2025: We came in for a meal and found ourselves immersed in a sensory experience. From the appetizers to the first and second courses, it was always an explosion of flavors. Another positive note: my wife and daughter are celiacs and were able to eat everything, including the fried foods, which were TOP. Definitely worth a visit. Paolo is a knowledgeable and delightful person.

05/12/2025: We had dinner here the day before our trip to this city for a wedding. My boyfriend and I ordered fried squid, roasted vegetables, and two pasta dishes. We were almost full after the appetizers – the portions were huge and the food was incredibly fresh! The staff also provided complimentary focaccia and appetizer soup, both of which were delicious! The pasta was also excellent, but we were too full. We told the staff we usually order dessert, but we were too full today, so we decided to skip it. He was incredibly hospitable and brought us a small plate of dessert from the kitchen! Wow, such hospitality! My boyfriend and I both agreed that our dining experience here was one of the best we've had in Italy. It was very personal; they didn't treat us like tourists. I highly recommend dining here, and we'll definitely come back if we have the chance!

05/12/2025: Great value for money. For two, we ate 400 grams of fried calamari, mixed vegetables, spaghetti with lobster, and spaghetti with clams for €100. Fresh fish, spaghetti al dente. Everything was perfect. But the special thing was the service. They treated us very well and offered so many things. My girlfriend isn't Italian, and in my opinion, these kinds of experiences are the things that bring honor to Italy.

11/12/2025: The food was average, good, the wait time was normal, the prices were good, the waiters were excellent, but the gentleman at the cash register was a bit arrogant and rude to customers. He also rounded up the €26.60 bill per person to €27 (illegible) just because payment was electronic. The staff was the only thing that bothered me, even if it was minor.

02/12/2025: Spectacular Roman pizza! Everything was excellent. I went there because it was close to the hotel...but I'll be back. I absolutely recommend it, and not just for the pizza.

If you're planning a day trip, it's an ideal starting or ending point for a stroll through the ruins of Horace's villa, a lovely hike through the Licenza woods, or continuing on to Orvinio for a tour of one of Italy's most beautiful villages.

12/12/2025: You immediately feel at ease when you arrive at this place, where the food, customer service, and speed of service are hallmarks. We've been there in groups, sometimes just two, but the end result has always been positive. And we don't even live nearby. Already booked for the 26th of next month and the 1st of 26th.
