04/06/2026: As the name suggests, tigelle are served here... what can I say? You're spoiled for choice when it comes to fillings for these well-leavened, soft tigelle. Not to mention the platters, generous portions for two with truly delicious choices, accompanied by delicious sauces. I'll definitely be back, even though I live in the province of Bologna.

29/05/2026: Back from a stay at Casa Maria Luigia, which, though brief, was no less interesting and enjoyable. Forget about a typical hotel stay or a simple gastronomic 'experience.' This is something else entirely, or at least that's how we experienced it. Accommodation: Excellent, with rooms focused more on aesthetic detail than functionality. The garden/park is an oasis. We only missed a turndown service, usual at this level. The thoughtful breakfast introduces you to regional products, but we did miss a simple croissant. The service is young, attentive without being intrusive. Lara and Massimo want you to feel at home, and they succeed admirably. The primary language is English, more so than Italian. The target clientele is tourists seeking experiences. There's a strong presence of Americans (Lara's excellent work is evident here as well). Dinner: Casa Maria Luigia offers (and more) a tasting menu featuring some of the Chef's iconic dishes. Nothing is cooked there; there are no pans or pots, only plating up and ovens for setting temperatures. In fact, you don't get the impression of being in a restaurant, but rather in an exhibition—an exhibition where the works aren't paintings to admire, but the dishes themselves, and the experience is a tasting preceded by an explanation of the 'work'. It's best to go with a clear idea: it's not a 'dinner,' it's a visit to a "gastronomic exhibition." The result may be more or less to your liking. But this is it. In all, we enjoyed our stay and plan to be back.

13/05/2026: We noticed at some point Casa Maria Luigia changed their schedule to be open 7 days a week, so we changed up our travel plans to stay here during our time in Emilia Romagna and the trouble of updating our plans was so worth it. This place is truly incredible and I would recommend it to anyone who comes to visit this area. There is clearly so much thought that goes into making this place feel like home - the staff is extremely friendly and we also had the pleasure of meeting Massimo and Laura here who are so warm and down-to-earth. We also did a tour of the Acetaia (where they produce traditional balsamic vinegar on the property) and we learned so much from the guided tour and are happy to be bringing back some gifts with us to remember this place when we’re back home.

03/01/2026: We went for lunch on a Saturday around 2 pm, so it was crowded but starting to empty. We sat down, and unfortunately, despite the tables next to us being empty, we had to wait half an hour for two platters of cold cuts. The wait, in my opinion, was a bit excessive, both because of the raw dish and the fewer customers. The quality was good, yes, but I would still recommend the staff pay more attention.

10/06/2026: They were so sweet in welcoming us despite the late hour. The food was also very good. Everything was great. We'll definitely be back.

02/06/2026: Unfortunately, I have to give one star! The staff was friendly and fast (I assume because the food is frozen). The food tastes like nothing!! I've never tasted salmon that had absolutely no flavor! It was a unique experience, but a negative one! The same with the tuna. The shrimp vaguely resembled the flavor, but it was definitely not fresh. The menu is very limited and includes some nonsensical dishes (hosomaki with only Philadelphia? Why? It's not even suitable for vegans!!) Truly disappointing. We will never go back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Again, shame about the staff because the girls are incredible!

22/12/2025: A truly welcoming and informal restaurant in the center of Modena, perfect if you're looking for heartfelt, home-style Emilian cuisine made with genuine ingredients. Here you'll find tagliatelle with ragù, lasagna, gnocco fritto with cured meats and parmesan, eggplant parmigiana, and homemade desserts that many customers consider among the best in the city. They're also paired with excellent local wines and Lambrusco.

22/05/2026: Superb dinner, recommended!!!! We were served by Enrico, who was super kind and even let my 7-year-old son help him carve the prosciutto. All the cured meats were exceptional, not to mention the boiled and roasted meats. Recommended

18/05/2026: A restaurant serving traditional Emilian and Po Valley cuisine. I particularly recommend the superb boiled meats and the selection of first courses, including traditional stuffed pasta dishes. The desserts are also noteworthy. The atmosphere is clean and simple, with ample seating. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Modena Sud highway exit. Good value for money.

13/04/2026: Very good first courses, but the portions were small. We ordered a trio of dishes for 6, so we didn't even get a dish each. Gnocco and tigelle were 3 generous portions of cured meats and various sauces. With 4 bottles of water, a carafe of Coke, a liter of wine in a carafe, and a coffee, 40 euros each. A bit excessive.
