16/05/2026: We went on a Saturday evening with a group of friends and children. We chose the pizza tour, but it took us over an hour to start eating the pizzas, and the bacon was everywhere, even on a vegetarian one. The taste, I'm sorry to say, was non-existent. It was a terrible mess with children coming from various places scattered around the one we were at, and we spent a lot for having eaten just a few slices of pizza each. €77 for three of us seemed really excessive to me.

08/08/2026: We had lunch here today, August 9, 2020. We stumbled upon it by chance after exiting the highway to avoid traffic. As soon as we entered, the atmosphere was very welcoming, and the staff was extremely kind and greeted us with a smile. Then their tortellini arrived, and you realized that the name of the restaurant couldn't have been more fitting. Excellent food, highly recommended.

22/12/2025: A truly welcoming and informal restaurant in the center of Modena, perfect if you're looking for heartfelt, home-style Emilian cuisine made with genuine ingredients. Here you'll find tagliatelle with ragù, lasagna, gnocco fritto with cured meats and parmesan, eggplant parmigiana, and homemade desserts that many customers consider among the best in the city. They're also paired with excellent local wines and Lambrusco.

16/11/2025: I love this place I have gone several times, alone and with people. But today it was disappointing, I arrived to the place they asked if i made a reservation i said no, she told me there were no places i could only sit outside if I wanted to (rightfully so). I waited for 15 minutes for someone to come take my order, and in the meanwhile I saw a couple coming WITHOUT A RESERVATION that were given a place inside. I asked again if some places were freed she said yes but I have to leave in 45mins, then i went to sit and she said actually no you have to leave in 30 minutes. A hectic week al I wanted was to get some pancakes and a drink on a sunday. So I left.

13/11/2025: Nice place to go for breakfast, lunch, etc. After lunch we stopped for an American coffee, a cupcake, and a bubble tea. Everything was definitely good, with a normal price. Recommended.

29/05/2026: Back from a stay at Casa Maria Luigia, which, though brief, was no less interesting and enjoyable. Forget about a typical hotel stay or a simple gastronomic 'experience.' This is something else entirely, or at least that's how we experienced it. Accommodation: Excellent, with rooms focused more on aesthetic detail than functionality. The garden/park is an oasis. We only missed a turndown service, usual at this level. The thoughtful breakfast introduces you to regional products, but we did miss a simple croissant. The service is young, attentive without being intrusive. Lara and Massimo want you to feel at home, and they succeed admirably. The primary language is English, more so than Italian. The target clientele is tourists seeking experiences. There's a strong presence of Americans (Lara's excellent work is evident here as well). Dinner: Casa Maria Luigia offers (and more) a tasting menu featuring some of the Chef's iconic dishes. Nothing is cooked there; there are no pans or pots, only plating up and ovens for setting temperatures. In fact, you don't get the impression of being in a restaurant, but rather in an exhibition—an exhibition where the works aren't paintings to admire, but the dishes themselves, and the experience is a tasting preceded by an explanation of the 'work'. It's best to go with a clear idea: it's not a 'dinner,' it's a visit to a "gastronomic exhibition." The result may be more or less to your liking. But this is it. In all, we enjoyed our stay and plan to be back.

13/05/2026: We noticed at some point Casa Maria Luigia changed their schedule to be open 7 days a week, so we changed up our travel plans to stay here during our time in Emilia Romagna and the trouble of updating our plans was so worth it. This place is truly incredible and I would recommend it to anyone who comes to visit this area. There is clearly so much thought that goes into making this place feel like home - the staff is extremely friendly and we also had the pleasure of meeting Massimo and Laura here who are so warm and down-to-earth. We also did a tour of the Acetaia (where they produce traditional balsamic vinegar on the property) and we learned so much from the guided tour and are happy to be bringing back some gifts with us to remember this place when we’re back home.

02/04/2026: Honestly, everything is very good, but I wonder why you pay an extra €2 for the Taggiasca olives on your order? And if they exclude them because they don't have any in the kitchen, don't they deduct it from the price of the pizza?

22/07/2026: If I could, I'd give it 6 stars! I went to Doppiozero Food Lab in Modena and was enchanted. FOOD: Exceptional piadinas, light but incredibly tasty, made with excellent ingredients. Fantastic desserts, artisanal and delicious. SERVICE: Friendly, smiling, and attentive staff. ATMOSPHERE: Great attention to detail, clean, modern, and welcoming. Top quality and value. Recommended for everyone!

12/07/2026: A modern place with a wide selection of piadinas. I ordered an off-the-menu dish with just cooked ham and zucchini, and the staff made sure I was satisfied. The piadina was well-filled, hot, and crispy—excellent! Great people. Parking inside the shopping center. Recommended!

12/07/2026: You have to come here to believe it... Such disappointing, uncoordinated service is shocking, as if I had come for dinner when the place was full!! The quality of food is subjective, it depends on each of us, after all... you may like it or not, it's usually fine, it's not awful... But the service is unacceptable... you have to try it to believe it...

11/07/2026: We had dinner last night. The staff was always kind and helpful. Unfortunately, they didn't accommodate my request, bringing me an overcooked steak when I'd asked for it rare. They very honestly asked me if I wanted to change it (I said no, I hate throwing food away), and at the end of the evening, they took the cost of the steak off my bill (even though I didn't think it was fair, since I ate it anyway). Aside from the cooking error, everything was fine.

12/07/2026: On June 20th, Ilenia and I got married in this fantastic location, both for its immense, meticulously kept garden (perfect for those of us with lots of children) and its elegant, yet thankfully cool interior (it was 38 degrees Celsius). Gilberto, the owner, was very helpful and honest. Davide and all the staff were very courteous and knowledgeable! The food was excellent!!! A magnificent, rich, and delicious buffet!!! What can I say...our dream came true!!!
