12/04/2026: Nothing to say. Definitely not an everyday restaurant, but one for special occasions or culinary experiences. Refined cuisine, rich in flavor, but never bland. No detail is overlooked, and excellent service is ensured by Sandro and the housekeeper, who, near the end of the meal, goes around the tables to say hello and make sure everything is going well!
I highly recommend this restaurant to Modena residents and tourists looking for culinary authors!

A sublime dinner from start to finish. We chose the "Tutti al mare" tasting menu, a fitting name: each course was a veritable explosion of flavors and contrasts, interpreted with exceptional technique and passion.
The atmosphere is inviting, warm, and truly comfortable, instantly putting guests at ease.
Special praise also goes to the service, which was absolutely excellent: attentive, professional, yet never intrusive.
An experience worth repeating and highly recommended to anyone seeking excellence.

05/04/2026: If you want the best tagliatelle ever, go to Trattoria Secca. The owners are incredibly kind, the prices are reasonable, and it's one of the few trattorias where you can still enjoy traditional Emilian fare made by a sweet grandmother. Book ahead!

05/04/2026: Wonderful experience in a true family Trattoria, where the gregarious and welcoming Alessandro knows each of his obviously local guests. I sat and watched the place fill up, every single seat occupied, happy customers and delicious food. One single page of menu, always a good sign of quality over quantity. I ate like a prince and the end price was more than fair. I am definitely returning.

03/05/2026: Everything was good and "plain," like a real trattoria, including the prices. On Saturdays, there's a long line to get in; reservations aren't allowed. I'm happy with the experience, but if I had to say I understood the reason for its success, I'd say no...
30/04/2026: Perhaps one of the most interesting places to eat in Modena, very authentic and quite unique, located on the first floor opposite the market. The food is excellent: the pasta is delicious, and the main courses are a good example of the local cuisine. The atmosphere is less touristy if you go when it first opens, but as the morning progresses, it gets very crowded and it's difficult to find a free table. The service is good, friendly, and attentive. I recommend it.

The menu features traditional Modenese dishes that are of a high standard, but for dessert, you absolutely must try the cannoli or cassata, which are sourced directly from Sicily (the owners' home region). We had a wonderful time here for a quiet family lunch.

17/03/2026: I took the set menu, the first courses (tortelloni and fusilli) were good and plentiful, while the second courses (sliced meat and other dishes) were a bit stringy. I must return to try the gnocco and tigelle, which looked good. The whole meal, including wine and desserts, cost €32 per person.

The price is a little high, but considering it's homemade, it's understandable. Highly recommended... oh, and the lady could have smiled a little more...

19/04/2026: Excellent service with nice and fast girls. Excellent and abundant fixed menu. Really good borlengo then trio of first courses and gnocco and tigelle with cold cuts and cheeses with dips. Dessert all for €25. Excellent price. The trio of first courses not bad, good and abundant cold cuts and cheeses. The dessert semifreddo with nocino was good. We had a very good time.

06/04/2026: We stopped by chance at this osteria, located near the Modena Nord highway exit. Despite the fixed menu due to Easter Monday, we were able to enjoy high-quality traditional Modenese dishes. The place truly exudes the charm of times gone by. A delightful stop! The owner is truly friendly. Highly recommended for those who love savoring traditional dishes in historic locations!
05/04/2026: Well, what can I say? This is a real Osteria! As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Claudio, the owner. The menu doesn't just tell you what the dish is, it tells the story behind it, and as explained inside, there are a few authentic dishes with an unparalleled flavor. Inside, you can also find some really interesting anecdotes that make the short wait a pleasant moment of general knowledge (I enjoyed it so much I had it as a gift). I had the pleasure of eating the Easter menu: you know that saying "I save the best part for last"? Impossible!!!!! From the kitchen, each dish comes out better than the next: starting with the minestraccia, followed by the engineer's tortellini, Signora Gianna's meatballs, and zampone with mashed potatoes, concluding with a sweet polenta cake. The icing on the cake, however, are Claudio's anecdotes about his old friends... like Dalla and Ferrari.
It started as a pleasure, ended as an honor.
I'll be back.

09/03/2026: Legend has it that a place still exists in the heart of Modena, a tiny hideaway of culinary excellence where, upon entering, you're welcomed into one of the most authentic and traditional establishments. This small, intimate kingdom, a room with five or six tables, has been run dictatorially for the past 35 or 40 years solely by Signora Ada. In the morning, she goes to the Albinelli market to do the shopping, then cooks, serves, manages, etc. Just her and a unique passion. Exceptional dishes, always freshly made and never heavy. BUT THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR EVERYONE, BEWARE!!!
There's a menu, but it usually directs you to the best of what the market has to offer daily, as she's the only one there, and therefore dictatorial. She'll make sexual jokes and thinly veiled innuendos that might make the uninitiated stiff. But that's part of the show and the convivial atmosphere that's created among the patrons.
She's a unique character. Anyway, three appetizers: porchetta and snow peas, prosciutto and melon, cotechino and cabbage. Top. Tortelloni, and a main course of guinea fowl, shank, or whatever. House cakes, water, wine, nocino liqueur, and mokona coffee, or if you're among the last to arrive, go and drink it with her at the bar... €40. Excellent, light and not heavy, no less than the most prestigious restaurants in the city. A day out of the ordinary. Thank you, Ada, for your passion.

Signora Ada does everything herself: she cooks, waits tables, and welcomes guests with a naturalness that makes them feel instantly at home. The atmosphere is truly special: small, chic, and yet curious, filled with memorabilia and objects that tell the story of a lifetime. Every detail has a story, making the place intimate and charming.
